  • In this paper, a hybrid booster power module with Si IGBT and Silicon Carbide (SiC) Schottky Barrier Diode (SBDs) is presented. The switching characteristics of the hybrid booster module are compared with commercial Silicon IGBT/Si PIN diode based modules. We applied the booster power module into a non-isolated on board vehicle charger with a simple buck-booster topology. The performances of the on-vehicle charger are analyzed and measured with different power modules. The test data is measured in the same system, at the same points of operation, using the conventional Si and hybrid Si/SiC power modules. The measured power conversion efficiency of the proposed on-vehicle charger is 96.4 % with the SiC SBD based hybrid booster module. The conversion efficiency gain of 1.4 % is realizable by replacing the Si-based booster module with the Si IGBT/SiC SBD hybrid boost module in the 6.6 kW on-vehicle chargers.

  • Normally, the buck converter is used for the charging converter of photovoltaic generator because this converter has good characteristics compare with boost and buck-booster converter But, in case of the sollar-cell voltage is lower than charging voltage, we cannot charge the sollar energy to the charger. So, in this paper, we proposed the novel hybrid converter using by combination of buck and boost converter for the charging converter of photovoltaic generator, as a results, it can operate buck, boost and buck-boost mode. The proposed novel converter has the same characteristics of the existent buck converter and furthermore it can operate as a boost converter. So, we can make the more effective photovoltaic charging system.

  • This paper describes a digital implementation of a pulse amplitude modulation(PAM) method for a unity-power-factor buck-booster converter. A digital controller is designed and implemented by a Digital Signal Processor(DSP) to replace the analog control circuit for PAM. Experimental results are presented and compared with simulations.

  • For decrease the harmonic current components of the power source, a first method is insert the choke coil that used the choke input type rectifier, the booster chopper circuit and buck chopper circuit. And the several method are studying like as the PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) converter and the active filter type which is used the high frequency switching and the sinusoidal wave formed input current. In this type, there are many problem as a low efficiency, increased the noise, the high leakage current and cost up by the high frequency switching. For improve this problems, the partial resonan method is used on the booster inducter and lossles snubber condenser. This method decreased the distortion factor has lower harmonic components than the hard switching and there is no switching loss by the ZCS(Zero Current Switching) at switch turn-on and the ZVS(Zero Voltage Swithcing) at switch turn-off

  • In this paper, a method of constructing an inverter circuit that can generate negative voltage required to operate an IT device in a stable using an inexpensive buck device is presented. To do this, the problem of constructing the inverter circuit using the existing buck device was examined, the principle that could prevent this problem was analyzed, and a circuit that could solve this problem was presented. In order to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method, the experimental circuit was constructed and the experiment was conducted. Compared to the operation of the inverter circuit by the existing overcurrent prevention circuit, it was confirmed that the stable operation was performed without an overcurrent phenomenon. Accordingly, it is expected that the performance of the circuit can be greatly improved while a number of peripheral devices for configuring the devices for processing various analog signals used in IT devices as a single power supply can be omitted.

  • In this study, Electromagnetic Induction Power Generation (EMG) is a structure consisting of a stator and a permanent magnet rotor, and is a method that enables power generation by using the kinetic energy of the human arm. Among them, the axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) technique is a method that can act sensitively to the kinetic energy of the arm at a slow speed of the human body, and has a simple structure and can be designed and manufactured with an ultra-small size. Under the conditions of size of ø46×11mm, rotation speed of 7Hz (420rpm), output voltage 0.4VAC, output current 4.5mA, and output power 30mW were measured and analyzed the same as the target specification. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study the power generation of the pendulum applying the AFPM (Axial Flux Permanent Magnet) technique to charge power to smart devices with kinetic energy of the human body.
