Uniformity Improvement of SLS poly-Si TFT AMOLED

  • In this study, we attempted to find the origin of brightness non-uniformity in SLS poly-Si TFT AMOLED. By developing a suitable SLS process with a compensation circuit, we successfully improved the non-uniformity from 40% to 1.7%. In addition, we were able to fabricate 2.2" AMOLED display using SLS poly-Si.

New Electrode Shape for High Xe-content Gas in AC PDP

  • One of the most important issues in AC PDP is the improvement of luminous efficiency. One possible method for achieving this aim is by increasing Xe partial pressure in discharge gas mixture. The increase of Xe ratio, however, causes the driving voltage to rise, even if brightness is increased. In this study, a new electrode shape is proposed. A test panel fabricated by using a new electrode shows that efficacy has improved by 25 % and sustain voltage has decreased by 20 % compared with the conventional structure.

풋콩의 품질향상을 위한 마이크로파에 의한 블랜칭 (Effect of Microwave Blanching on the Improvement of the Qualities of Immatured Soybean)

  • For the purpose of improving the qualities of immatured soybean(Seoklyang), the effects of table height (0, 5, 10, 15mm) and time(60, 66, 72, 78 sec) for microwave blanching on physicochemical properties were investigated. Enzyme inactivities lipoxygenase and peroxidase for all there conditions were more de creased than for control and water blanching. Enzyme activity of each conditions was expressed as percentage on the enzyme activity of control. Lipoxygeanse activity and peroxidase activity of immatured soybeans were about 20% and 10% levels, respectively. Also the color showed the higher L(lightness), b(yellowness), chroma(brightness) values, but the lower a(redness) and hue angle. Vitamin C content was worse than for control, but was better than for water blanching. Hardness with a few exceptions showed the higher value for control.

Improvement of stability for organic light emitting devices by thermal and electrical treatment

  • Highly stable organic electroluminescent devices have been achieved by treatment of thermal and electrical annealing. We investigate here the performance of theses devices at temperatures and pulse aging. We also demonstrate improved device stability due to thermal and electrical treatment, and the brightness decays at no treatment, thermal only, electrical only and thermal/electrical treatment were 86.6%, 89.5%, 93.0%, and 96.7%, respectively, in the after 150 h of operation driven with an initial luminance of $1,000\;cd/m^2$.

  • One of the most serious problems in AC PDP is low luminous efficiency. One possible candidate for solving such a problem is using high Xe partial pressure. Increase of Xe percentages causes the driving voltage to rise, although brightness is increased. In this study, a new electrode structure is proposed to solve this problem. A test panel fabricated by using new electrode shows improvement of efficiency by 25% and reduction of sustain voltage by 20% compared with the conventional structure.

Shape-from-Shading 기술을 이용한 대칭물체의 3차원 형상 예측 (Estimation of 3-D Symmetric Shapes Using Shape-from-Shading Technique)

  • Since the first shape-form-shading technique was developed by Horn in the early 1970s, many different approaches have been continuously emerging in the past three decades. Some of them improve existing techniques, while others are completely new approaches. Using the image reflectance equation, they estimate the 3-D shape of an object utilizing adequate constraints. Each algorithm applies different constraints such as brightness, smoothness, and integrability to solve the shape-from-shading problem. Especially for symmetric objects, a symmetry constraint is proposed to improve the performance of existing shape-from-shading algorithm in this paper. The symmetry constraint is imposed to a conventional algorithm and then the improvement in the performance of 3-D shape reconstruction is proved by quantitatively comparing the depth and gradient errors.

White ledger의 초음파 탈묵 : 파일롯 규모 적용 실험 (Deinking of White Ledger with Ultrasonic Wave : Pilot Scale Trial)

  • The pilot scale ultrasonic deinking was carried out in order to confirm the commercialization possibility of ultrasonic deinking. White ledger was used as a raw material and the results were compared to the results obtained from the conventional deinking. The fraction of smaller ink particle was increased and the improved ink removal efficiency was also obtained by the ultrasonic treatment. The brightness and breaking length of ultrasonic deinked pulp were superior to those of the conventional deinked pulp. Most interesting findings in this study were that the significant improvement in effluent quality and the reduction of chemicals and energy cost were obtained by the ultrasonic deinking.

  • This paper Proposes a wavelet-based video compression method to improve compressed images using modification of wavelet coefficients. In conventional wavelet-based compression methods, bigger coefficients are transmitted early according to the significance of the coefficients. In this reason, when some coefficients which have more significance but are not bigger are not transmitted, image degradation occurs. The Proposed method considered two human visual characteristics. First, human eyes are more sensitive to the change of middle frequency which represents abrupt change of brightness than that of high frequency which expresses fine region. Second, human eyes are more dull to color component than luminance respectively. By adjusting the coefficients of wavelet transformed signals and allocating more bits for compression to the luminance signal, higher compression could be achieved.

  • This study examined the effect of the main color of apartment building as background color on the preference for residential streetscape in the relation with surrounding environment of streetscape with its focus on the color of apartment building outer wall. To research a visual evaluation structure, this study aimed to understand its characteristics through quantitative assay and to provide more scientific and specific data about improvement direction. The results suggested that the current brightness and chroma of main color of apartment building was high and low respectively which was advisable. On the other hand, in the color, when the components of the whole streetscape included buildings or soundproofing walls, a streetscape image needed to be improved though the color scheme of 4-distance color difference.

  • Currently the indication method of the traffic signal light which is established in our country displays each "red, yellow, green" using the brightness LED signal light. In this paper, one LED circular arrangement replaces the Current indication method of the traffic signal light using two color LED. Also the blinking signal function of present time uses the MCU of AVR series and it is embodied with magnification and abridgment of the circular arrangement for recognizing easily far away. The signal light indication method which is proposed will be able to substitute the signal light of 3 colors with 1 signal light with economic profit presented the reform measure of energy efficiency improvement together.
