This research used an experimental design in an effort to assess the influence of brand gender and salespeople on the attitudes toward brands according to the males' gender identity traits. The study used a three-way split-plot experimental design, and data were analyzed by t-tests, and ANOVA. The subject of this research was men in their 20s and 30s, and a total of 178 people were selected through convenience- sampling. The findings are as follows: first, masculine male consumers preferred masculinity fashion brands; however, androgynous consumers preferred brands that reflect androgyny. Second, there were no differences in brand attitude according to the gender of the salesperson for the masculinity group, but the androgynous group estimated the brands as better when the salesperson was female. Third, there were no differences in the brand attitudes among consumers according to gender of the salesperson for the Galaxy; however, for Solid Homme, brand preference was stronger when the salesperson was a woman. Fourth, the influence of brand gender and salesperson gender on brand attitudes differed according to the gender of the consumer. Therefore, apparel companies must clearly understand the characteristics of consumer gender identity and execute proper marketing strategies in order to induce stronger positive attitudes toward their brands. Moreover, apparel companies should perceive that brand gender and the gender of the salesperson can consequently encourage brand preferences.
In the context of the convergence revolution that brings together culture, technology, and humanities, the fashion industry is aiming to form product strategies to create added value. The ultimate aim of these strategies is to satisfy consumers' diverse needs. Boosted by discussions on sustainability in the fashion industry, sustainability management activities are also emerging as a trend in product strategy. Therefore, it is important to consider both convergence and sustainability management activities together as drivers of fashion brands' product strategies. The main objectives of this study are as follows: (1) to examine the differences in sustainability evaluation by product strategy, (2) to determine how sustainability evaluation affects brand attitude and purchase intention, and (3) to identify how this effect varies according to the types of convergence and sustainability management activities. The main findings of this research are as follows. First, sustainability evaluation varies according to fashion brands' product strategy. Second, evaluation has a positive effect on brand attitude and purchase intention. Third, the effect varies according to the types of convergence and sustainability management activities. This study is an extension of previous research for combining fashion brands' convergence and sustainability management activities as a part of their product strategy, which, in turn, contributes to positive consumer responses on the marketing level. Moreover, results provide practical implications for fashion brands that enable them to establish efficient marketing strategies regarding to convergence and sustainability management activities.
Today, the fashion industries, which are appearing in the world, can satisfy their economic needs, as well as provide and distribute their products in order to introduce sustainable methods and avoid becoming a bad influence on future generations. Recently, SPA brands have contributed to the sustainable development of society with different kinds of products, such as organic, recycled and environmental products. For this research, among different SPA brands, we chose H&M as the most representative one. Using Russian and Korean consumers as examples, we analyzed how sustainable activities affect a consumer's ethical consciousness, brand loyalty and purchase intention. The results of this study show that firstly, all sustainable activities have positive effects on the ethical consciousness of Russian and, in particular, Korean consumers. Secondly, ethical consciousness has a positive effect on brand loyalty, which, in turn, has a positive effect on purchase intention. Consequently, by adding to the existing sustainable and cultural activities, we can propose new perspectives for future research on sustainability. Due to the effect on a consumer's ethical consciousness, future research might consider ethical consciousness as the main factor. By focusing on H&M as a representative of SPA brands with Russian and Korean consumers as target audiences, we can advise global SPA brands on the direction of their sustainable activities and exporting of their products to foreign markets.

This study set out to examine message orientation in advertising expression through the content analysis of apartment sales advertisements in Busan. For this purpose, the study analyzed newspaper ads about apartment sales in the Busan area in terms of advertising appeal methods and message types. Advertising appeal methods(rational and emotional appeal) and message orientation(environmental, emotional, investment, and functional orientation) were categorized according to brands(nationwide and local brands). The findings show that most of apartment sales ads in Busan used a rational appeal method. While nationwide brands used rational and emotional appeal in similar percentage, local brands used a lot of rational appeal. Of the types of advertising message orientation, investment and emotional orientation recorded the highest percentage. Messages of investment orientation to show economic profit or premium were used most, being followed by messages of emotional orientation to show pride and happiness. These findings were interpreted to display differences in strategies for advertising expressions among brands. The findings are expected to offer useful practical implications for message strategies for apartment sales ads.

This study analyzed the characteristics and patterns of men's drawers panties to get basic data for their design. For this, drawers panties in 7 different brands (4: domestic brands, 3: imported brands) in terms of a front-center shape were collected, and the shape of men's drawers panties, characteristics of the materials, dimensions & type of patterns by the part and front-center patterns were analyzed. The study results found the followings: First, in terms of the shape of men's drawers panties, the front-center part were designed to rest the penis and scrotum in a natural and comfortable manner without a pee slit. They were seamless on the sides except for one product with side seams. Second, the drawer panties were made of elastic polyurethane materials. Specifically, domestic brand items used warm, elastic and durable nylon, polyester and rayon and polyurethanes while imported brands were mostly made of absorbent and sanitary polyurethanes. Third, regarding a size of drawer panties by part, imported brands were large in waist circumference. In terms of waist breadth at the front center, there was difference depending on an oval type. In addition, the front length at the front center differed by product, revealing difference in three-dimensional effect at the front center. The side length also differed greatly by product, which means that there might be a great difference in wear comfort. Fourth, in terms of the patterns of men's drawers panties, there was difference in side seams, center back seam and front-center patterns. Among a total of 7 products, only one product had side seams, and center back seams were found in two products only. Fifth, in terms of front-center patterns, the drawer panties can be divided into three types, creating three-dimensional effect not to give any pressure on the crotch: i) the cutting line only at the bottom of the front center part where the penis is rested, ii) puff created at the front center by adding a transverse line to the center line, iii) cutting transverse line to separate the penis from the testicles.
The purpose of this study is to examine the higher value-added characteristics of tailored jacket designs, which are major items of French luxury brands, in an effort to raise the competitiveness of domestic fashion designs. The characteristics of the jacket designs from the 1940s to the 1970s, the golden age of Haute Couture, were examined. Based on this, the characteristics of the higher value-added expressions of the luxury brands were established by analyzing the tailored jacket designs that appeared in the Paris collection after 2010. The results are as follows: the characteristics were categorized into 'traditional value expression,' 'conceptual value expression,' 'retro value expression,' and 'creative value expression.' Traditional value was expressed as the representation of the styles inherent to the golden age of the Haute Couture houses, and the status of the luxury brands with history was represented by equally arranging the size and characteristics of the elements of the designs related to jacket silhouette. Conceptual value was reestablished as contemporary identity into which the traditional ideology of the houses and the present designers' sentiments were grafted by developing the designs with the theme containing the identity of the past Haute Couture houses. Retro value was utilized as the strategy to differentiate the luxury brands with long history from contemporary products. Creative value was expressed as tailored jackets with new concepts of shape variation and usage conversion by combining creative sentiments with the high quality techniques of Haute Couture and appears to be able to create a new consumption market of luxury brands in the global fashion market.
Objectives : Burn is most common adverse events of moxibustion. Various kinds of components influence on the heat stimulation of commercial indirect moxa, but there are not enough investigation about the status. The purpose of this study is to investigate the 6 components to build a base data that is currently available to build a standard of an indirect moxibustion. Methods : The length and weight, density, thickness of the paper disk, diameter of the paper disk, and diameter in the paper disk hole were measured against 6 kinds of commercial indirect cautery. Results : 1. 'Seoam', 'Kihwang' and 'Taegeuk' shows uniform length than the other brands. 2. 'Dongbang', 'Kihwang' and 'Taegeuk' shows uniform weight than the other brands. 3. 'Dongbang', 'Kihwang' and 'Taegeuk' shows uniform density than the other brands. 4. 'Dongbang' and 'Kihwang' shows uniform thickness than the other brands. 5. 'Seoam', 'Dongbang' and 'Taegeuk' shows uniform diameter of disc hole than the other brands. Conclusions : As a result of investigation, 'Dongbang' and 'Kiwhang' indirect moxibustion was identified as a uniform product. This results are considered as an important base materials of the KS through commercial indirect moxibustion.

The purpose of this study is to clarify of the distribution routes of cosmetics by their types and differences in choosing them according to ages with the ones in choosing brand by the type according to them. The subjects of the study were females aged 20 plus living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province between January and February 2008, and 427 questionnaires were used for analysis. For data analysis SPSS 17.0 statistical program was used, and principal component analysis, frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2-test$, ANOVA test and Duncan test were conducted. The results and conclusions of this study are as follows: first, cosmetics store use by product type was examined. Department stores were used most often to purchase skincare, base and color products, while large cosmetics stores were used most frequently to buy hair and body products. Second, The result of the differences in choosing brand by type of cosmetics has found that there are the meaningful differences between Korean low and middle priced brands and foreign high priced ones in skincare and base products. The Korean low and middle priced brands of skin care products show that various distribution routes are simultaneously and highly used as choices in internet, cosmetics specialty stores and large general ones are higher than other distribution routes. Color products have found that there are the meaningful differences in the entire brands. Hair and body products have found that there are the meaningful differences in three brands except the Korean high priced brands. Third, the differences in cosmetics store selection by age were investigated. As for online purchasing, people in their 20's were most likely than other age groups to purchase online. Meanwhile, in case of other stores including door-to-door sales and home shopping, people aged 40 and older were more prone than other age groups to purchase base, color and body products through these stores.
This study analyzed the effects of price perception and product attributes on brand loyalty and repurchase intention, and compared the differences in high- and low-priced cosmetic brands. Data were collected from female consumers in their 20s to 40s and a total of 411 responses were used for the final analysis. Findings were as follows. First, when comparing high- and low-priced brands, personal attribute and experiential attribute among cosmetic attributes, brand loyalty, and repurchase intention of high-priced showed the higher mean scores than those of low-priced. Second, all of three cosmetic attributes and P-Q/prestige were significant for high-priced brand loyalty, while experiential attribute, personal attribute, P-Q/prestige, and price consciousness were significant for low priced brand loyalty. Third, with respect to repurchase intention, all of three cosmetic attributes, P-Q/prestige, and sales proneness were significant for high-priced, while experiential attribute, personal attribute, and P-Q/prestige were significant for low-priced. Personal attribute contributed the most to high-priced brand loyalty and repurchase intention, whereas experiential attribute to low-priced. The findings of this study would be helpful to understand the purchase of high and low priced cosmetic brands. The managerial implications for cosmetic brand marketers were provided.
Recently, the replacement of creative directors of fashion brands has gained attention from both researchers and practitioners. This study selected three representative fashion brands whose creative directors were replaced in the last 10 years, and analyzed the changed characteristics of their magazine advertisements. Literature studies and case studies were conducted as research methods. The subjects of the case studies were three fashion brands - 'Saint Laurent', 'Louis Vuitton', and 'Gucci'. Magazine advertisements were divided into two aspects: fashion photo elements and layout. The former can be classified into three components: the presence of a specific situation, the background of photos and objects, and the atmosphere of models. The latter can be classified into two components: the logo style and pictorial color. In terms of fashion photo elements, the presence of a specific situation in magazine advertisements appeared differently, depending on whether creative directors focus on the brand's own identity or on their own concept of each season. Also, the background of photos and objects, and the atmosphere of models changed depending on the situation. In terms of layout, there is no dramatic change in their logo styles, for they want to preserve their long tradition. And the more a creative director pursues younger sensibility, the more black and white color effect are added towards magazine advertisements. This study has its significance in that it confirms the replacement of creative directors has considerable influence on fashion brands' images and their magazine advertisements.
