In this paper Hamiltonian Approach (HA) have been used to analysis the nonlinear free vibration of Simply-Supported (S-S) and for the Clamped-Clamped (C-C) Euler-Bernoulli beams fixed at one end subjected to the axial loads. First we used Galerkin's method to obtain an ordinary differential equation from the governing nonlinear partial differential equation. The effect of different parameter such as variation of amplitude to the obtained on the non-linear frequency is considered. Comparison of HA with Runge-Kutta 4th leads to highly accurate solutions. It is predicted that Hamiltonian Approach can be applied easily for nonlinear problems in engineering.
With the cultivated mulberry plant which feeds silkworm on its leaves in sericulture, the measuring methods of biomass of terrestrial organs were compared and the annual net productivity was estimated. The measurement of the standing crops by means of allometric method on basis of relation between the parameter D230H, square of the diameter of the branch on 30cm high above ground($D{\frac}{2}{30}$) multiplied by its height(H), and the amount of leaves(WL) or of branch (Ws) was more accurate than other methods on basis of correlation between a character of the branch such as H, D30 or D230 and WL or Ws. The estimate of value of the net productivity of terrestrial parts of mulberry was 9.06-12.54 ton/ha.year, which was similar to that obtained from secondary forests in cool temperate zone.
The symbol error probability of M-ary PSK (MPSK) and QAM (MQAM) systems using the branch with the largest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the output of L-branch selection combining (SC) in frequency-nonselective slow Nakagami fading channels with an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is derived theoretically For integer values of the Nakagami fading parameter m, the general formula for evaluating symbol error rate (SER) of MPSK signals in the independent branch diversity system comprises numerical analyses with the integral-form expressions. An exact closed-form SER performance of MQAM signals under the effect of SC diversity via numerical integration is presented. These performance evaluations allow designers to determine M-ary modulation methods for Nakagami fading channels.
Dynamic response of a laminated porous concrete beam reinforced by nanoparticles subjected to harmonic transverse dynamic load is investigated considering structural damping. The effective nanocomposite properties are evaluated on the basis of Mori-Tanaka model. The concrete beam is modeled by the sinusoidal shear deformation theory (SSDT). Utilizing nonlinear strains-deflection, energy relations and Hamilton's principal, the governing final equations of the concrete laminated beam are calculated. Utilizing differential quadrature method (DQM) as well as Newmark method, the dynamic displacement of the concrete laminated beam is discussed. The influences of porosity parameter, nanoparticles volume percent, agglomeration of nanoparticles, boundary condition, geometrical parameters of the concrete beam and harmonic transverse dynamic load are studied on the dynamic displacement of the laminated structure. Results indicated that enhancing the nanoparticles volume percent leads to decrease in the dynamic displacement about 63%. In addition, with considering porosity of the concrete, the dynamic displacement enhances about 2.8 time.

Generally the required strength and stiffness of an I-shaped beam to the box-shaped column connection is achieved if continuity plates are welded to the column flanges from all sides. However, welding the forth edge of a continuity plate to the column flange may not be easily done and is normally accompanied by remarkable difficulties. This study was aimed to propose an alternative for box columns with continuity plates to diminish such problems. For this purpose a double-web I-shaped column was proposed. In this case the strength and rotational stiffness of the connection was provided by nearing the column webs to each other. Finite element studies on about 120 beam-column connections showed that the optimum proportion of the distance between two column webs and the width of the column flange (parameter ${\beta}$) was a function of the ratio of the beam flange width to the column flange width (parameter ${\alpha}$). Hence, based on the finite element results, an equation was proposed to estimate the optimum value of parameter ${\beta}$ in terms of parameter ${\alpha}$ to achieve the highest connection performance. Results also showed that the strength and ductility of post-Northridge connections of such columns are in average 12.5 % and 54% respectively higher than those of box-shaped columns with ordinary continuity plates. Therefore, a double-web I-shaped column of optimum arrangement might be a proper replacement for a box column with continuity plates when beams are rigidly attached to it.
Axially compressed circular cylinders repeat symmetry-breaking bifurcation in the postbuckling region. There exist stable equilibria with all symmetry broken in the buckled configuration, and the minimum postbuckling strength is attained at the deep bottom of closely spaced equilibrium branches. The load level corresponding to such postbuckling stable solutions is usually much lower than the initial buckling load and may serve as a strength limit in shell stability design. The primary concern in the present paper is to compute these possible postbuckling stable solutions at the deep bottom of the postbuckling region. Two computational approaches are used for this purpose. One is the application of individual procedures in computational bifurcation theory. Path-tracing, pinpointing bifurcation points and (local) branch-switching are all applied to follow carefully the postbuckling branches with the decreasing load in order to attain the target at the bottom of the postbuckling region. The buckled shell configuration loses its symmetry stepwise after each (local) branch-switching procedure. The other is to introduce the idea of path jumping (namely, generalized global branch-switching) with static imperfection. The static response of the cylinder under two-parameter loading is computed to enable a direct access to postbuckling equilibria from the prebuckling state. In the numerical example of an elastic perfect circular cylinder, stable postbuckling solutions are computed in these two approaches. It is demonstrated that a direct path jump from the undeformed state to postbuckling stable equilibria is possible for an appropriate choice of static perturbations.
The current study deals with the size-dependent free vibration analysis of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) reinforced polymer nanocomposite plates resting on Pasternak elastic foundation containing different boundary conditions. Based on a four variable refined shear deformation plate theory, which considers shear deformation effect, in conjunction with the Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory, which contains size-dependency inside nanostructures, the equations of motion are established through Hamilton's principle. Moreover, the effective material properties are estimated via the Halpin-Tsai model as well as the rule of mixture. Galerkin's mathematical formulation is utilized to solve the equations of motion for the vibrational problem with different boundary conditions. Parametrical examples demonstrate the influences of nonlocal parameter, total number of layers, weight fraction and geometry of GNPs, elastic foundation parameter, and boundary conditions on the frequency characteristic of the GNPs reinforced nanoplates in detail.
Many methods to examine the vulnerable areal for the contingencies in the power system. The most widely used index for the vulnerable area investigation has been the reactive power margin or sensitivity analysis. But we can get the results of these analyses if only the results of load flow are convergent in severe contingencies, otherwise these methods are not adoptable. We can present a good index for overcoming severe contingencies, if we can get the vulnerable areas by bus sensitivity in severe contingencies, though the power flow equation is unsolvable. This paper simulates unsolvable severe contingencies by using branch parameter continuation power flow. We can compute the vulnerable areas in unsolvable severe contingencies by normal vector at a nose point of a $\nu-V$ curve. Presented method is checked the input reactive power of the vulnerable areas in KEPCO system.

While non-predefined object segmentation (NDOS) distinguishes an arbitrary self-assumed object from its background, predefined object segmentation (DOS) pre-specifies the target object. In this paper, a new and novel method to segment predefined objects is presented, by globally optimizing an orientation-based objective function that measures the fitness of the object boundary, in a discretized parameter space. A specific object is explicitly described by normalized discrete sets of boundary points and corresponding normal vectors with respect to its plane shape. The orientation factor provides robust distinctness for target objects. By considering the order of transformation elements, and their dependency on the derived over-segmentation outcome, the domain of translations and scales is efficiently discretized. A branch and bound algorithm is used to determine the transformation parameters of a shape model corresponding to a target object in an image. The results tested on the PASCAL dataset show a considerable achievement in solving complex backgrounds and unclear boundary images.
Uncertainties in geomechanical input parameters which mainly related to inappropriate data acquisition and estimation due to lack of sufficient calibration information, have led wellbore instability not yet to be fully understood or addressed. This paper demonstrates a workflow of employing Quantitative Risk Assessment technique, considering these uncertainties in terms of rock properties, pore pressure and in-situ stresses to makes it possible to survey not just the likelihood of accomplishing a desired level of wellbore stability at a specific mud pressure, but also the influence of the uncertainty in each input parameter on the wellbore stability. This probabilistic methodology in conjunction with Monte Carlo numerical modeling techniques was applied to a case study of a well. The response surfaces analysis provides a measure of the effects of uncertainties in each input parameter on the predicted mud pressure from three widely used failure criteria, thereby provides a key measurement for data acquisition in the future wells to reduce the uncertainty. The results pointed out that the mud pressure is tremendously sensitive to UCS and SHmax which emphasize the significance of reliable determinations of these two parameters for safe drilling. On the other hand, the predicted safe mud window from Mogi-Coulomb is the widest while the Hoek-Brown is the narrowest and comparing the anticipated collapse failures from the failure criteria and breakouts observations from caliper data, indicates that Hoek-Brown overestimate the minimum mud weight to avoid breakouts while Mogi-Coulomb criterion give better forecast according to real observations.
