In this study, the new three-dimensional finite element analysis model of guideway structures considering ultra high-speed magnetic levitation train-bridge interaction, in which the various improved finite elements are used to model structural members, is proposed. The box-type bridge deck of guideway structures is modeled by Nonconforming Flat Shell finite elements with six DOF (degrees of freedom). The sidewalls on a bridge deck are idealized by using beam finite elements and spring connecting elements. The vehicle model devised for an ultra high-speed Maglev train is employed, which is composed of rigid bodies with concentrated mass. The characteristics of levitation and guidance force, which exist between the super-conducting magnet and guideway, are modeled with the equivalent spring model. By Lagrange's equations of motion, the equations of motion of Maglev train are formulated. Finally, by deriving the equations of the force acting on the guideway considering Maglev train-bridge interaction, the complete system matrices of Maglev train-guideway structure system are composed.
Quasi-static three-point bending tests on sandwich beams with expanded metal sheets as core were conducted. Relationships between the force and displacement at the mid-span of the sandwich beams were obtained from the experiments. Numerical simulations were carried out using ABAQUS/EXPLCIT and the results were thoroughly compared with the experimental results. A parametric analysis was performed using a Box-Behnken design (BBD) for the design of experiments (DOE) techniques and a finite element modeling. Then, the influence of the core layers number, size of the cell and, thickness of the substrates was investigated. The results showed that the increase in the size of the expanded metal cell in a reasonable range was required to improve the performance of the structure under bending collapse. It was found that core layers number and size of the cell was key factors governing the quasi-static response of the sandwich beams with lattice cores.
This paper aims to probabilistically evaluate performance of two types of I beam to box column (IBBC) connection. With the objective of considering the variability of seismic loading demand, statistical features of the inter-story drift ratio corresponding to the second, fifth and eleventh story of a 12-story steel special moment resisting frames are extracted through incremental dynamic analysis at global collapse state. Variability of geometrical variables and material strength are also taken into account. All of these random variables are exported as inputs to a probabilistic finite element model which simulates the connection. At the end, cumulative distribution functions of local seismic demand for each component of each connection are provided using histogram sampling. Through a parametric study on probabilistic local seismic demand, the influence of some geometrical random variables on the performance of IBBC connections is demonstrated. Furthermore, the probabilistic study revealed that IBBC connection with widened flange has a better performance than the un-widened flange. Also, a design procedure is proposed for WF connections to achieve a same connection performance in different stories.

We have designed the backward wave oscillator operating at 24 GHz. From the research which sees researches in the goal which will design and will produce K-band BWO where is a backward wave oscillator which departs from cycle prisoner 24 GHz until now is higher. To design Chrencov instibility and branch of family used a slow cyclotron instibility. Calculation used a dispersion relation and in order for as the box over-flow not to happen, a asymtotic expansion. Used a beam mode and a waveguide mode and axial symmetry and expense used in compliance with sattle point interpreted the relationship of axial symmetry.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of surface treatment and composition of reinforcement material on fracture strength of fiber reinforced composite inlay bridges. The materials used for this study were I-beam, U-beam TESCERA ATL system and ONE STEP(Bisco, IL, USA). Two kinds of surface treatments were used; the silane and the sandblast. The specimens were divided into 11 groups through the composition of reinforcing materials and the surface treatments. On the dentiform, supposing the missing of Maxillary second pre-molar and indirect composite inlay bridge cavities on adjacent first pre-molar disto-occlusal cavity, first molar mesio-occlusal cavity was prepared with conventional high-speed inlay bur. The reinforcing materials were placed on the proximal box space and build up the composite inlay bridge consequently. After the curing, specimen was set on the testing die with ZPC. Flexural force was applied with universal testing machine (EZ-tester; Shimadzu, Japan). at a cross-head speed of 1 mm/min until initial crack occurred. The data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA/Scheffes post-hoc test at 95% significance level. Groups using I-beam showed the highest fracture strengths (p<0.05) and there were no significant differences between each surface treatment (p>0.05) Most of the specimens in groups that used reinforcing material showed delamination. 1. The use of I-beam represented highest fracture strengths (p<0.05) 2. In groups only using silane as a surface treatment showed highest fracture strength, but there were no significant differences between other surface treatments (p>0.05). 3. The reinforcing materials affect the fracture strength and pattern of composites inlay bridge. 4 The holes at the U-beam did not increase the fracture strength of composites inlay bridge.

A PC based software, the RTP Research Tool Box (RTB), was developed for IMRT optimization research. The software was consisted of an image module, a beam registration module, a dose calculation module, a dose optimization module and a dose display module. The modules and the Graphical User Interface (GUI) were designed to easily amendable by negotiating the speed of performing tasks. Each module can be easily replaced to new functions for research purpose. IDL 5.5 (RSI, USA) language was used for this software. Five major modules enable one to perform the research on the dose calculation, on the dose optimization and on the objective function. The comparison of three cost functions, such as the uncomplicated tumor control probability (UTCP), the physical objective function and the pseudo-biological objective function, which was designed in this study, were performed with the RTB. The optimizations were compared to the simulated annealing and the gradient search optimization technique for all of the optimization objective functions. No significant differences were found among the objective functions with the dose gradient search technique. But the DVH analysis showed that the pseudo-biological objective function is superior to the physical objective function when with the simulated annealing for the optimization.
Purpose: The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the use of a radiopaque tissue fiducial marker (TFM) in the treatment of prostate cancer patients who undergo post-prostatectomy radiotherapy (PPRT). TFM safety, its role and benefit in quantifying the set-up uncertainties in patients undergoing PPRT image-guided radiotherapy were assessed. Materials and Methods: A total of 45 consecutive PPRT patients underwent transperineal implantation of TFM at the level of vesicourethral anastomosis in the retrovesical tissue prior to intensity-modulated radiotherapy. Prostate bed motion was calculated by measuring the position of the TFM relative to the pelvic bony anatomy on daily cone-beam computed tomography. The stability and visibility of the TFM were assessed in the initial 10 patients. Results: No postoperative complications were recorded. A total of 3,500 images were analysed. The calculated prostate bed motion for bony landmark matching relative to TFM were 2.25 mm in the left-right, 5.89 mm in the superior-inferior, and 6.59 mm in the anterior-posterior directions. A significant 36% reduction in the mean volume of rectum receiving 70 Gy (rV70) was achieved for a uniform planning target volume (PTV) margin of 7 mm compared with the Australian and New Zealand Faculty of Radiation Oncology Genito-Urinary Group recommended PTV margin of 10 mm. Conclusion: The use of TFM was safe and can potentially eliminate set-up errors associated with bony landmark matching, thereby allowing for tighter PTV margins and a consequent favourable reduction in dose delivered to the bladder and rectum, with potential improvements in toxicities.
The optical properties of (1210) GaN epitaxy films grown on the (1012) $\alpha-A1_2O_3$ substrates have been studied. The hetero-epitaxy films were grown by the halide vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE) method using $Ga/HC1/NH_3/He$ system at $990^{\circ}C$. XRD, RHEED and SEM are used for the identification of the hetero-epitaxy films structure and surface morphology. The confirmed (1210) GaN epitaxy films were characterized by PL and Raman. By the Raman scattering, the active phonon modes of single-phase GaN films are varied with the arrangement of both polarization and propagation directions of laser beam with reference to the axis in single-phase crystal films. The Y(Z, Y & Z) X geometry allows scattering pat-terns of $A_1(TO)=533\;cm^{-1},\;E_1(TO)=559\;cm^{-1}\;and\;E_2=568 cm^{-1}$ modes, whereas in the Z(Y, Y & Z) X geometry the only $E_2$ mode are observed.

Application of mechanically stabilized earth wall (MSEW) abutment has been rapidly increasing in United States of America, Pennsylvania since 2002. MSEW is effective for reducing construction cost and period compared to general concrete reinforced wall. In the paper, theoretical background and conventional criterion of MSEW abutment that is widely used abroad are analyzed. Based on the results, application of suitable MSEW abutment to domestic bridge type is examined. For the application of MSEW abutment in Korea, load interacting with upper shoe in domestic bridge types and structural analyses of beam seat and pile are investigated. As a result, all applications are possible except for PSC BOX Bridge that has heavy self-weight of girder. Through two and three dimensional numerical analyses, horizontal behaviour mechanisms between pile and MSEW were analyzed and field tests are also carried out for seven piles behind earth walls. From results of field tests, it is confirmed that an angle of internal friction of backfill material needs to be greater than 34 degree to use H-Pile as foundation of MSEW.
