Non-dimensional analysis fo interior ballistics (공내탄도학의 무차원해석)

  • This is a dimensionless analysis of interior ballistics for the design of gun tube. One of the characteristics of this analysis is to ues the .ETA.$_{j}$ number which means a relative quantity of virtual work to the kimetic energy of projectile at the muzzle. In order to apply the concept of virtual work, it is assumed that the projectile is moved from the beginning to the end of bore under constant pressure of the certain travel distance of projectile. The principle of the analysis is induced from the Le Duc equation, which expresses velocity as a function of projectile travel and is based on the translation of a hyperbolic curve. From this non-dimensional analysis, the optimum design parameters of pressure in the bore, velocity and acceleration of projectile can be obtained from the table of figure without computation. This method was verified by the experimental work.k.

  • The research results on the superconducting magnet for whole body MRI are presented. The magnet consists of main coil with 6 solenoid coils, shielding coil with 2 solenoid coils and 6 sets of cryogenic shim coil. The ferromagnetic shim assembly is installed on the inside wall of the room temperature bore for shimming inhomogeneous field components generated due to manufacturing tolerances, installation misalignments and external ferromagnetic materials near the magnet. Also, the magnet is enclosed with the horizontal type cryostat with 80cm room temperature bore to keep the magnet under the operating temperature. The magnetic field distributions within the imaging volume were measured by the NMR field mapping system. Through the test, the central field of magnet was 1.5 Tesla and the field homogeneity of 9.3 ppm has been obtained on 40cm DSV(the diameter of spherical volume) and using this magnet, comparatively good images for human body, fruits and water phantoms have been achieved.

The Development of 20 mm Test Barrel with Replaceable Powder Chamber Type (약실교환방식의 20 mm 시험용 총열 개발)

  • A new smooth bore test barrel was developed to be used in sensitivity assessment test for explosives and fragment impact test. The bore diameter of the barrel is 20 mm, and the powder chamber is designed to be replaceable with the 12.7 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm type chamber. The test results showed the wide range of fragment velocity from 400 to 2000 m/s, included the fragment velocity requirement of the fragment impact test(alternate procedure #1) in MIL-STD-2105B. The stability of the bullet trajectory was checked by test shots and the structural safety of the system has been confirmed through the stress analysis and the interior ballistics analysis of the barrel.

  • A theoretical analysis of predicting the detailed motion of a piston-crank mechanism within piston-guide clearance is presented, and the analysis is applied to the piston motion in a gasoline engine. A piston movement program is developed to calculate the piston attitude relative to the bore, the piston to bore impact velocity and kinetic energy loss and the net transverse force acting on the piston. This paper presents the formulation of a set of differential equations governing the transverse and rotational motion of a piston. These equations of motion were solved by well established Runge-Kutta method. As a result of this study, it is possible to predict the effects of piston geometry and piston pin offset on a piston motion and kinetic energy loss.

Wear Resistance Characteristics of Thermal Sprayed AlSiMg/SiC Composite Coatings on Aluminum Engine Cylinder Bores (Aluminum Engine Cylinder Bore 적용 AlSiMg/SiC 복합 용사피막의 내마모 특성)

  • The advantages of Thermal sprayed coatings as a replacement for cast iron liners are reduced weight, better heat transfer and reduced cost. One of the most important performance attributes of a cylinder bore coating is its wear resistance, since it must survive the abrasive sliding of both the piston rings and the piston skirt. In this study, composite powders were prepared by ball milling of Al-13Si-3Mg(wt%) alloy with SiC particles. The concentrations of SiC were 40 and 60wt%. The composite powders were sprayed using Metco-9MB plasma torch. Plasma sprayed coatings were heat-treated at 500℃ for 3 hours. The wear resistances of the plasma sprayed coatings were found to improve with heat treatment and superior to the commercially available G.C.I.(gray cast iron). AlSiMg-40SiC heat-treated coatings showed the best wear resistance in this study.

  • 많은 정보시스템 개발 프로젝트가 고객의 요구를 정확히 반영하지 못한 이유 때문에 실패하거나 설계변경 등의 다양한 문제를 발생 시키고 있다. 실패의 궁극적인 원인은 고객 가치 중심의 요구사항 재정의에 실패 한데에 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 기존 시스템에 새로운 가치를 부여하여 기존고객 뿐만 아니라 새로운 고객까지 만족 시킴으로써 경쟁이 없는 시장 공간을 창출하는 것이 가장 효과적인 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여, 블루오션 전략 프레임워크의 핵심인 ERRC(Erasure Reduce Raise Create) 분석 방법을 적용하여 고객가치를 창출할 수 있는 블루오션 요구공학 프로세스를 제안하였다. 또한, 정량적이고 체계적인 분석을 위하여 DFSS(Design For Six Sigma) 방법론을 적용하고, 제안된 접근법을 실제 정보시스템 개발 시 적용한 사례를 제시하고 적용결과의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 시스템 사용자에 대한 실증 분석결과를 제시하였다.

  • This work investigates the transient cooling characteristics of an Infrared (IR) detector cryochamber, which has a critical effect on the cooling load. The current thermal modeling considers the conduction heat transfer through a cold well. the gaseous conduction due to outgassing. and the radiation heat transfer. The transient cooling Performance. i.e. the penetration depth and cooling load, is determined using a finite difference method. It is found that the penetration depth increases as the bore conductivity increases. Gaseous conduction and radiation hardly affect the penetration depth. The transient cooling load increases as the bore conductivity increases. The effects of gaseous conduction and radiation on transient heat transfer are weak at initial stages of cooling. However, their effects become significant as the cooling Process Proceeds.

  • 댐붕괴파 (dam-break flow)나 지진해일에 의해 발생하는 undular bore와 충격파 (shock) 현상을 동수압 및 분산효과를 고려하여 수치모의를 수행하였다. 완전비선형 Boussinesq-type equations 모형을 이용하여, 동수압 및 분산 효과를 고려하였다. 방정식은 4차 정확도의 유한체적법을 이용하여 해석하였고, 시간적으로도 4차정확도의 기법을 이용하여 고차미분항에 대한 수치분산을 억제하였다. 다양한 경우의 1차원과 2차원 공간에서의 수치모의를 수행하고 검증을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 완전비선형 Boussinesq-type equations 모형은 천수방정식 (shallow water equations) 기반의 모형에서 재현이 불가능한 undular bore 등을 재현 하는 등, 전반적으로 천수방정식 기반의 모형 보다 물리적으로도 타당하고 정량적으로도 실험결과와 잘 일치하는 경향을 보였다. 즉, 댐붕괴파나 지진해일 등에 의한 범람 모의에 있어 동수압과 분산 효과의 중요성이 공학적으로도 매우 중요한 고려사항 임이 나타났다.

Characteristics of the Quench Current of Superconducting Coils with Large Bore (대구경 초전도 코일의 ?치 전류 특성)

  • The quench current characteristics of the superconducting solenoids with large diameter were experimentally investigated. Three solenoids with inside diameter of 450mm were fabricated with different tensions and different types of epoxy applications. The quench current of each solenoid was measured according to the various ramping rates of current. The highest quench current was obtained in the solenoid impregnated with epoxy after winding with tension of 20 percents of the yield strength of the superconducting wire. It was found that the quench currents were almost independent of the ramp rate of current. From the results, although the training effect in the solenoid appeared with epoxy impregnation, the quench current of solenoid impregnated with epoxy was higher than that without epoxy impregnated The test results are presented and discussed.

  • 사용자의 요구, 타 시스템과의 통합, 또는 새로운 기술의 접목을 필요로 할 때, 기존 시스템의 요구사항은 다시 만들어져야 한다. 기존요구사항과 새로운 요구사항을 비교하거나 평가 할 수 있는 방법론이나 프로세스는 사용되고 있지 않으며, 기존의 요구공학 프로세스는 이러한 문제 해결에 좋은 답을 제시하고 있지 못하다. 기존의 방법으로 정의된 시스템이나 제품은 심각한 경쟁의 시장에서 헤어나지 못할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 제안된 블루오션 요구공학 프로세스를 개선하였다. 또한 개선된 방법론을 이동통신 단말기를 개발하는 과정에 적용한 실제 사례와 평가 결과를 제시하였다.
