We perform the Lomb-Scargle Periodogram analysis to protostars identified by the JCMT Transient Survey, which monitors 8 nearby star forming regions. The observations have been done monthly for over 3 years using SCUBA-2 (the Submillimetre Common User Bolometer Array 2) in two wavelengths, 450 and $850{\mu}m$. Under the threshold of 1% False Alarm Probability, we found 16 variable sources including EC53, which is the first variable protostar detected by the JCMT Transient Survey. Most of the variable sources are cataloged as protostars (classified via the Spitzer data, Megeath et al. 2012; Dunham et al. 2015), but SerpS-MM19, which has a clear 1-year period, is a candidate of a first hydrostatic core (Maury et al. 2011; Young et al. 2018).
A vanadium pentoxide ($V_2O_5$)-based bolometric infrared (IR) sensor has been designed and fabricated using micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) technology for glucose detection and its resistive characteristics has been illustrated. The proposed bolometric infrared sensor is composed of the vanadium pentoxide array that shows superior temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and standard silicon micromachining compatibility. In order to achieve the best performance, deposited $V_2O_5$ thin film is optimized by adequate rapid thermal annealing (RTA) process. Annealed vanadium oxide thin film has demonstrated a linear characteristic and relatively high TCR value (${-4}%/^{\circ}C$). The resistance of vanadium oxide is changed by IR intensity based on glucose concentration.
Based on the typical pixel structure and parameters of a polysilicon uncooled bolometer, the absorption rate of a polysilicon microbridge infrared detector for 10.6 ㎛ laser energy was calculated through the optical admittance method, and the thermal coupling model of a polysilicon microbridge component irradiated by far infrared laser was established based on theoretical formulas. Then a numerical simulation study was carried out by means of finite element analysis for the actual working environment. It was found that the maximum temperature and maximum stress of the microbridge component are approximately exponentially changing with the laser power of the irradiation respectively and that they increase monotonically. The highest temperature zone of the model is gradually spread by the two corners of the bridge surface that are not connected to the bridge legs, and the maximum stress acts on both sides of the junction of the microbridge legs and the substrate. The mechanism of laser-induced hard damage to polysilicon detectors is the melting damage caused by high temperature. This paper lays the foundation for the subsequent study of the interference mechanism of the laser on working state polysilicon detectors.
In this work, we optimized a microbolometer for application of a $CO_2$ detector by using MEMS technology. We fabricated a stable thermal isolation structure by varying the lengths of supporting legs which affect bolometer performance. We could fabricate more stable thermal isolation structure for the microbolometer through the results of ANSYS simulations, and minimize the fabrication processes by using bulk micromachining to use a $CO_2$ detector. The microbolometer shows a detectivity of $2.5{\times}109$ cmHz$^{1/2}$/W at a chopper frequency of 8 Hz and a bias current of $6.25\;{\mu}A$ with a vacuum package of about $3.0{\times}10.3$ torr. Therefore, we put to conclusion that the microbolometer optimized in this experiment could be useful for the application of a $CO_2$ detector.
Thin films of vanadium oxide(VO$\_$x/) have been deposited by r.f. magnetron sputtering from V$_2$O$\_$5/ target in gas mixture of argon and oxygen. The oxygen/(oxygen+argon) partial pressure ratio is changed from 0% to 8%. Crystal structure, chemical composition, bonding, optical and electrical properties of films sputter-deposited under different oxygen gas pressures are characterized through XPS, AES, RBS, FTIR, optical absorption and electrical conductivity measurements. V$_2$O$\_$5/ and lower oxides co-exist in sputter-deposited films and as the oxygen partial pressure is increased the films become more stoichiometric V$_2$O$\_$5/. The increase of O/V ratio with increasing oxygen gas pressure is attributed to the partial filling of oxygen vacancies through diffusion. It is observed that the oxygen atoms located on the V-O plane of V$_2$O$\_$5/ layer participate more readily in the oxidation process. With increasing oxygen gas pressure indirect and direct optical band gaps are increased, but thermal activation energies are decreased.
The $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}MnO_3$ was deposited on $SiO_2/Si$ substrate by RF magnetron sputtering. The oxygen gas flow rate was changed from 0 to 80 sccm and the substrate temperature was $350^{\circ}C$. The oxygen gas flow rate was changed to control the growth orientation and crystalline state of the film. Relatively high TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) value (-2.33%/K) was obtained when comparing with the reported values of the films prepared by using high substrate anneal temperature. The decrease in the sheet resistance and TCR value were observed when grain size of the film increased with the increase of oxygen gas flow rate.
The fabrication of vanadium oxide films directly on Si(100) substrates by plasma atomic layer deposition(ALD) with vanadium oxytriisopropoxide(VOIP) and oxygen as the reactants have been performed at temperature ranging from 250 to $450^{\circ}C$. Growth rate of vanadium oxide was $2.8{\AA}$/cycle at $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ defined as ALD acceptable temperature window, Vanadium oxide has been shown the different phases at $250^{\circ}C$ and more than $300^{\circ}C$. It has been confirmed that the phase of the films deposited at $250^{\circ}C\;was\;V_2O_5$ type and that of the films above $300^{\circ}C\;was\;VO_2(T)$ type measured at room temperature, respectively. A large change in resistance and small temperature hysteresis corresponding to a temperature has been observed in the vanadium oxide film deposited at temperature $350^{\circ}C$.
$YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ thin films were fabricated by the spin-coating method on $SiO_2$/Si substrate using an alkoxide-based sol-gel method. The structural and electrical properties were investigated for various 1st annealing temperature. Due to the formation of the polycrystalline single phase, synthesis temperature was observed at around $720^{\circ}C-800^{\circ}C$. $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ thin films with the 1st annealing temperature of $450^{\circ}C{\sim}500^{\circ}C$ showed the single XRD patterns without the second phase, such as $YBa_2Cu_4O_8$. The thickness of films was approximately $0.23{\mu}m{\sim}0.27{\mu}m$. Aerage grain size, resistance and temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ thin films with the 1st annealing temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ were $0.27{\mu}m$, $59.7M{\Omega}$ and -3.7 %/K, respecvitely.
