  • In this paper, The fan stall guard system of boiler airing system of the class of 500MW capacity to protect fan. But because confidence is loosed and operation is influenced by frequent fault of fan stall guard system, confidence is improved by substituting DCS Logic for it.

  • 본 연구에서는 화력발전의 보일러-터빈 시스템에 DMC(Dynamic Matrix Control) 기법을 적용한다. 고정된 동작점 모델들 간의 내삽(Interpolation)을 이용하여 실시간으로 계단응답모델을 계산 및 개선하고 이를 기반으로 제어를 실행한다. 제시된 제어 기법은 화력발전의 보일러-터빈 시스템을 대상으로 한 모의실험을 통하여 그 효용성을 나타낸다.

  • PLC (Power Line Communication) is the communication method using the existing power line installed in houses and offices to convert and transmit high frequency communication signal from tens of KHz to tens of MHz, and receive the filtered signal using high frequency filter The advantage of PLC is that PLC uses the existing power line installed in houses and offices so it does not require separate power line. Easy and convenient access using electric outlets is another advantage of PLC. However, PLC has some disadvantages such as limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, characteristic of impedance, and selective possibility of frequency property. We designed the boiler temperature control system unit by using the PLC modem. We can avoid unnecessary heating of separate temperature control unit, and save the cost accordingly control stability of the proposed system is proven through the experiment.

  • This paper describes total flow control of an ice slurry system for pump energy saving. Similar turbo machinery has a characteristic that input power ratio is proportional to the three time of revolution speed ratio. To reduce the energy cost of brine pump in ice slurry storage systems, inverter is adapted instead of 3-way valve to control the speed of brine pump motor. One type of cooling load profile was used as driving load of the system, generated by a boiler and warm water storage tank. As results of the laboratory test, energy consumption and cost of the pump were reduced by 11.4%.

  • To improve the reliability of boiler controller of a power plant, FTCS(Fault Tolerant Control System) is proposed. We studied to implement a Multi-processor scheme for FTCS. This paper presents the total system to experiment the performance of FTCS and the Multi-processor scheme implemented.

  • Recently, a greater part of all ship use a coarse heavy fuel oil(HFO) over specific gravity(S.G) 1.00/15$^{\circ}C$ and viscosity 3,500 cSt/4$0^{\circ}C$ as the fuel oil of marine boiler or internal combustion engine from the viewpoint of economical ship' operation. The greater plan to improve a combustion methods of heavy fuel oil, such as atomization, homogeneity and emulsification, were contrived and carried out newly, and then applied 20kHz ultrasonic homogenizer to one of test methods. Also, adopted the marine oils(fuel oil and lubricating oil etc.) and sludge oil as test solutions, and its matrix structures were examined with photographs, Especially, it is important at control system of oil pollution, for the sludge oil emulsified, to be recycled as fuel oil of boiler according to 20kHz Ultrasonic homozenizer, and then fuel saving is attained effectively by making sludge oil to be burnt.

  • Maximum power consumption was up to 6,228kW in the summer of 2007 due to steady development of industry as well as increased demand of individual. Twenty fossil-Fired Thermal Power Plant for 500MW were underconstructed at present. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) manage 'Development of Advanced Fossil-Fired Thermal Power Generation System' project to construct high efficient power plant of 1000MW capacity for preparing increased demand of power. Design of control logic and data sampling were explained and high efficient control logic was simulated in detail in 'The Development of Next Generation Power Plant Instrument and Control System'(sub-project of 'Development of Advanced Fossil-Fired Thermal Power Generation System' project).

Demonstration study on Heating and Hot water According to Control Condition of Solar System (태양열 시스템의 제어조건에 따른 난방 및 급탕 실증연구)

  • This study describes thermal performance of heating and cooling demonstration system using ETSC(Evacuated tubular solar collector) installed at Seo-gu art center of Kwangju. For demonstration study, a reading room with about $350m^2$ was heated and cooled using that system. The demonstration system was consisted of ETSCs, storage tank, hot water supply tank, subsidiary boiler, and subsidiary tank. From January to March in 2006, demonstration test were performed with 4 control mode to find the optimum control condition for solar thermal system. After experiments and analysis, this study found that solar thermal system of control mode IV was corresponded to 78% for the hot water supply and 49% for space heating.
