The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of initial body weight and synbiotics supplementation in the diet on growth performance of weaned pigs. A total of 80 crossbred pigs (Landrace×Yorkshire×Duroc, d 28±3, body weight 6.40±1.70 kg) were randomly distributed 4 treatments (4 replication, 5 pigs/replication). The treatments were 1) high initial body weight group (PC), 2) low initional body weight group (NC), 3) low initial body weight with 0.2% antibiotics (amoxicillin) supplementaion group (AB), 4) low initial body weight with 0.2% synbiotics (AllTech® Bio-Mos 0.3%, 0.3%, Bacillus subtillis 0.1%, formic acid 0.1%) supplementation group (Syn). AllTech® Bio-Mos is consist of at least 25% of glucomannanprotein extracted from the cell wall of Saccaromycess cerevisae. Growth performance was measured during 28 d. Average daily gain (ADG) of AB and Syn groups were significantly (p<0.05) higher than that of NC group. However, final body weight at the end of experiment were not different among NC, AB, and Syn groups. Initial body weight and final body weight of PC group were statistically (p<0.001) higher compared to those of other groups. Additionally, PC showed the tendency of lower average daily feed intake and higher ADG, thereby lower feed conversion ratio compared with other groups. Therefore, the current results imply that supplementation of antibiotics and synbiotics in diets for weaned pigs could not catch up with significant differences in initial body weight.

Intra-Body Communication (IBC) is a communication method using the human body as a communication medium. The fact that our human body consists of water and electrolyte allow such communication method could work and have strength in low-power. However, because the IBC directly affects to human body by using it as a medium, there was a lack of research in communication protocols of each communication layer. In this paper, we suggests MAC parameters which affects the performance of communication in human body channel, and propose new MAC protocol. Our results shows that our MAC is suitable for supporting high data rate applications with comparable radio duty cycle performance.

This paper aims to provide the most useful method of determining an optimum LCB position and design direction of fore- and aft-body hull shape for a SLBV. It is known that the SLBV has a lower length-to-beam ratio, larger Cb and simpler stern shape designed for the installation of azimuth thrusters comparing to those of conventional LNG carriers. Due to these specific particulars of SLBV, the optimum LCB position was very different to that of conventional LNG carrier. And various approaches were applied to determine the optimum fore- and aft-body hull shape. The design direction for the optimum hull-form was evaluated as the minimization of the total resistance which includes the wave-making resistance and form-drag with numerical simulation.
The purpose of this study is to research the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care for postpartal women and to provide the basic data for improvement of service in a postpartum care center. The respondents of this study were 100 women of 6 postpartum care centers within a C province from Oct. 20 to Dec. 10, 2000. The instruments of measure were used for collecting data on the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care developed by the researcher. Data analysis consisted of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, paired t-test, t-test, ANOVA which are calculated by Scheffe test and Cronbach's alpha which is used as a reliance level by using a SPSS-PC+. The results of the study were as follows:1. The average score for the degree of recognition of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) for postpartal women was $3.09{\pm}.31$, and they recognized that it was important. The methods which were ranked were as follows; Protecting the body from a harmful state, invigorating the body by the argumentation of heat and avoidance of cold, handling with whole heart, and keeping clean, resting without working, eating well. 2. The average score for the degree of performance of traditional postpartal care (Sanhujori) for postpartal women was $2.81{\pm}.31$, and they performed that it was important, too. The methods which were ranked were as follows; Protecting the body from a harmful state, invigorating the body by the augumentation of heat and avoidance of cold, eating well, handling with whole heart, and keeping clean, resting without working. 3. There were significant differences statistically (paired-t=-8.39, p=.000) of the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) for the postpartal women. The degree of recognition was higher than the degree of performance. So, the recognition of traditional postpartal care (Sanhujori) was higher than the performance of it. 4. There were no statistical differences of the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) among the postpartal women's age, religion, job, educational background, delivery frequency, delivery method or the sex of baby. So, the Characteristics of the respondents were not influenced as far as the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori). 5. There were significant differences statistically of the degree of performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) among the 5 postpartum care centers except 1 postpartum care center(p<.01). So, the recognition of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) was higher than the performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) in the 5 postpartum care centers. But there was performed as good as recognition in only 1 postpartum care center.
The effect of fat supplementation of high calcium (Ca) diets on the performance, intestinal pH, body composition and size and weight of organs in growing chickens were investigated in two experiments. Growing chickens tolerated a high dietary level of Ca (22.5 vs 12.1 g/kg) in the presence of 6.3 g/kg of available phosphorus without any significant effect on performance. Intestinal pH was significantly increased by the addition of excess Ca and fat which probably created the right pH for the formation of insoluble Ca soaps. Excess dietary Ca increased carcass linoleic acid concentration at the expense of palmitic and stearic acid contents, whilst the addition of sunflower oil (80 g/kg diet) to the diet increased carcass linoleic acid concentration at the expense of palmitic acid content of the carcass. Intestinal and visceral organ size and weight were not influenced by excess Ca or fat. However, there was a non significant increase in the intestinal dry weight per unit of length caused by excess dietary Ca. It was concluded that excess dietary Ca of 22.5 g/kg did not significantly influence the performance of meat chickens. However, excess Ca increased intestinal pH and altered carcass fatty acid composition. Fat supplementation did not alter intestinal pH with high Ca diets. Excess dietary fat altered carcass fatty acid composition and reduced protein content. Intestinal and visceral organ size and weights were not influenced by excess dietary levels of Ca of fat.
Twenty eight multiparous lactating cows were utilized in an experiment to evaluate the response to an exogenous fibrolytic enzyme on their lactational performance during early lactation period (in terms of milk production, milk composition, feed intake, milking efficiency, body weight change) and the exact time of this response. Cows were randomized into two groups (14 each) with similar parities and were fed a concentrate ration of barley, ground corn, soybean meal, and wheat bran and roughage ration of alfalfa hay. One of the two groups was supplemented with the fibrolytic enzyme immediately after parturition up to 100 post partum. The experiment was of two phases with 50 days each. The enzyme, which has a cellulase/hemicellulase activity (derived from Trichoderma group), was added to the concentrate part of the ration in a dry powder form. Milk production, 3.5% fat corrected milk, energy corrected milk were higher (p<0.05) for cows fed treated diet. At the same time, No differences were observed in percentages of milk components, feed intake, body weight, body weight change, or rectal temperature for the whole experimental period or during any of the two phases. Efficiency of milk production was higher (p<0.05) for treatment group cows than for that of the control ones. However, efficiency was better during the second phase than during the first phase. Feeding enzyme treated diets to dairy cows improved lactational performance during early 100 day of the lactation period. However, the first 50 days of lactation looked to be the critical.
Many edge detection methods, based on horizontal and vertical derivatives, have been introduced to provide us with intuitive information about the horizontal distribution of a subsurface anomalous body. Understanding the characteristics of each edge detection method is important for selecting an optimized method. In order to compare the characteristics of the individual methods, this study applied each method to synthetic magnetic data created using homogeneous prisms with different sizes, the numbers of bodies, and spacings between them. Seven edge detection methods were comprehensively and quantitatively analyzed: the total horizontal derivative (HD), the vertical derivative (VD), the 3D analytic signal (AS), the title derivative (TD), the theta map (TM), the horizontal derivative of tilt angle (HTD), and the normalized total horizontal derivative (NHD). HD and VD showed average good performance for a single-body model, but failed to detect multiple bodies. AS traced the edge for a single-body model comparatively well, but it was unable to detect an angulated corner and multiple bodies at the same time. TD and TM performed well in delineating the edges of shallower and larger bodies, but they showed relatively poor performance for deeper and smaller bodies. In contrast, they had a significant advantage in detecting the edges of multiple bodies. HTD showed poor performance in tracing close bodies since it was sensitive to an interference effect. NHD showed great performance under an appropriate window.
In Korea, all nuclear power plants (NPPs) participate in annual performance tests including in vivo measurements using the FastScan, a stand type whole body counter (WBC), manufactured by Canberra. In 2018, all Korean NPPs satisfied the testing criterion, the root mean square error (RMSE) ≤ 0.25, for the whole body configuration, but three NPPs which participated in an additional lung configuration test in the fission and activation product category did not meet the criterion. Due to the low resolution of the FastScan NaI(Tl) detectors, the conventional peak analysis (PA) method of the FastScan did not show sufficient performance to meet the criterion in the presence of interfering radioisotopes (RIs), 134Cs and 137Cs. In this study, we developed an artificial neural network (ANN) to improve the performance of the FastScan in the lung configuration. All of the RMSE values derived by the ANN satisfied the criterion, even though the photopeaks of 134Cs and 137Cs interfered with those of the analytes or the analyte photopeaks were located in a low-energy region below 300 keV. Since the ANN performed better than the PA method, it would be expected to be a promising approach to improve the accuracy and precision of in vivo FastScan measurement for the lung configuration.
Purpose: This study aims to determine what changes occur in body composition and performance by subjecting youth soccer players to weight training and combined training, which are known to be effective in improving anaerobic capacity, for 6 weeks. Research design, data, and methodology: This study was conducted on 30 high school soccer players from S City who had no current injuries or medical problems and had been registered as players with the Korea Football Association for more than 3 years. Subjects were divided into a weight training group (WTG, n=15) and a combined training group (CTG, n=15). Training lasted 6 weeks, and measurements were taken before and after training. Mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) were calculated to present the descriptive statistics of all dependent variables. Paired t-tests were used to test for within-group differences. Further, Independent t-tests were employed to test for between-group differences. Results: In terms of body composition, height significantly increased in WTG and CTG, and body fat percentage significantly decreased in CTG. As for performance, WTG's 20m sprint record decreased significantly. Conclusion: As a result, this study confirmed that weight training improved the 20m sprint ability of youth soccer players. Future research could provide more useful information by extending the study period and incorporating the physical characteristics of adolescents.
The driver model during drift cornering was examined, and a technique to improve vehicle movement performance during drift cornering was investigated. Based on the results obtained, the driver was found to steer using feedback of the body slip angle and the body slip angle velocity during drift cornering. Moreover, improvement of the cornering force characteristic, at which exceeded the maximum cornering force calm as much as possible is important.
