Taegwondo uniforms need powerful durability in fabrics against friction and shock because of higher exercising power. Therefore, in this study we developed more comfortable Taegwondo uniform for functional fabrics(deodorization rate, antibacterial activity and static charge). Chitosan is a deacetylated product of chitin, has widely been used in the biomedical sector, food industry, and textile industry. For the purpose of this study, we used the chitosan, which was congenial to the human body. Then, we compared the differences between the chitosan treated fabrics and non treated fabrics of Taegwondo uniform(100% polyester, 65% polyester/35% cotton). Chitosan was dissolved in 1% acetic acid. Also, the fabrics were washed using distilled water. Afterward, its treatment with chitosan was completed by padding the sample to its wet pick-up at $80{\pm}5%$ and by heating $150^{\circ}$ for 3 minutes. The chitosan treated Taegwondo uniform was improved on deodorization rate than non treated uniform. And the chitosan treated Taegwondo uniform was improved remarkably the antibacterial activity in all samples. In the further researches, the static charge was reduced in chitosan treatment uniform.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand and describe the experiences of exercise maintenance in elderly with osteoarthritis (OA). Methods: Three focus group interviews were conducted with a total of 19 older adults with OA who have been exercising for more than six months. Results: Two main themes emerged from the analysis: the changing exercise in life's journey (exercise maintained by self and family affection, exercise maintained by social networking expansion, exercise changing for function and body-image and exercise changing for economic efficiency) and the exercise pervaded into the life (Exercise used as a side effect-free treatment, exercise internalized by will and a sense of accomplishment and exercise become daily routine habits). Conclusion: Despite the various problems associated with aging and OA, participants made exercise a part of their lives by changing it to fit their own functions, abilities and circumstances. It is necessary to emphasize the positive aspects of the overall situation and to provide appropriate education and exercise based on the theory as well as the individual's overall fitness and limitations.

This study was conducted to define dietary patterns and to evaluate the effects of socioeconomic, acculturation and lifestyle factors on dietary patterns among 2,746 Korean- Americans in California. It was a cross-sectional telephone survey based on a representative sampling of individuals with a Korean surname using residential phone listings. It was conducted using a food frequency questionnaire that covered 20 food items, socioeconomic variables such as age, gender, income, education and acculturation, and lifestyle factors such as body weight, alcohol consumption, smoking, exercise and consumption of fast food. Four dietary patterns were identified: American Foods (AF), American Breakfast (AB), Korean Foods (KF) and Vegetables (Ⅴ). AF was associated with younger men, acculturation and fast food consumption. AB was associated with women, higher education, current smoking and fast food consumption. KF was associated with acculturation and lower socioeconomic status. Ⅴ was associated with lifestyle factors such as smoking, exercising and fast food consumption. The results of the study showed that socioeconomic and lifestyle factors influenced the dietary patterns of Korean- Americans. This should be considered when dietary interventions are designed for Korean-Americans to improve their health status.

The objective of this study was to evaluate college students’dietary and health behaviors in relation to their Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality preferences. Dietary and health behaviors were surveyed for 444 college students who performed the MBTI personality test. Only 6.1% of the subjects regularly had three meals a day, while 27.1% ate breakfast every day. Fifty-six point nine percent of the students took less than 15 minutes to eat a meal and had the habit of eating fast. The number of food groups they ate was, on average, 2.74 and was eaten mainly at dinner. This showed that college students did not eat a large variety of foods. Eighty-two percent of the subjects drank alcoholic beverages, 21.4% smoked, and 69.3% exercised. In addition, 73.9% of them were not satisfied with their body image, but they were not eager to try weight control. There were not many significant differences between Extraversion (E)-Introversion (I), Sensing (S)-iNtuition (N), and Thinking (T)-Feeling (F) in their dietary and heath behaviors, although some gender differences existed. Significantly better dietary and health behaviors were shown in subjects preferring Judging (J) rather than Perceiving (P). There behaviors included eating breakfast, regularly eating three meals a day, smoking less, exercising more and having a lower tendency to night-eating. The personality preference of J-P could be useful index for nutritional education and counseling or behavior modification programs for obese people.

Results : In terms of the relationship between smoking and periodontal status, the risk of periodontitis was 1.63-fold higher in smoker group than in nonsmoker group, and 1.02-fold higher even after adjustment of gender, age, income levels, educational background, alcohol consumption, exercising, body mass index (BMI), oral examination, the frequency of tooth brushing, the use of oral hygiene devices, and perceived oral health. Chi square analysis also showed that the prevalence rate of periodontitis was higher in smoker group than in nonsmoker group. Background and Purpose : Recently oriental medicine is making a new try for arthritis therapy, one of them is herbal acupuncture. Herbal acupuncture is therapy which combines acupuncture with herbal medicine. Also, aquatherapy will be the good method for arthritis therapy. Aquatherapy begins with YMCA aquatic exercise program in 1984 by America athritis foundation. Aquatherapy uses buoyancy, hydmstatic pressure, resistance, water temperature which is four water characters. So we should study on the herbal acpuncture and aquatherapy. Objecitve and Method : This study researched 21 thesises for herbal acupuncture and many artcles and data for aquatherapy. 21 thesises for herbal acpuncture is divided two groups. One group is about effect on alleviation of pain(18 thesises), the other group is for antiphlogistic effect(13 thesises). About aquatherapy, we research many books, papers, and aquatherpy method, for example Ai Chi, BACKHAB, Watsu. Result and Conclusions : About herbal acupuncture, we researched 21 thesises, and 17 thesises proved the effect on alleviation of pain, 13 thesises proved the antiphlogistic effect of herbal acupuncture. For the aquatherapy, we researched many datas, and concluded like this. Due to the lessned effect of gravity, patients in exercising in water will have very little body weight and very little impact. So, aquatherapy or aquaexercise is an excellent exercise medium for the people who are experiencing some physical difficulty.
Objective : This study was designed to investigate the effect of Carthami Flos Herbal-Acupuncture(CF) on Subluxation of the Head of the Radius. Methods : CF was administered one time per 2days. The following points were selected : TE10(天井), LI11(曲池), LI10(手三里). After CF administration conventional body-acupuncture was performed at the same points. We evaluated the patient through Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Elbow Range of Motion(ROM). Results : After 6 times of treatment, the patient showed that clinical symptoms was disappeared, VAS changed from 10 to 1 and there was no limitation of ROM. Conclusions : According to the results, CF and early Exercising may have rapid effects on the Subluxation of the Head of the Radius. But further studies are required to prove the effect of CF on Subluxation of the Head of the Radius.
