  • Dispersion of coolant jets in a film cooling flow field is the result of a highly complex interaction between the film cooling jets and the mainstream. In order to investigate the effect of blowing ratios on the film cooling of turbine blade, cylindrical body model was used. Mainstream Reynolds number based on the cylinder diameter was $7.1\;\times\;10^4$. The free-stream turbulence intensity kept at $5.0\%$ by using turbulence grid. The effect of coolant flow rates was studied for blowing ratios of 0.9, 1.3 and 1.6, respectively. The temperature distribution of the cylindrical model surface is visualized by infrared thermography (IRT). Results show that the film-cooling performance may be significantly improved by controlling the blowing ratio. As blowing ratio increases, the adiabatic film cooling effectiveness is more broadly distributed and the area protected by coolant increases. The mass flow rate of the coolant through the first-row holes is less than that through the second-row holes due to the pressure variation around the cylinder surface.

  • We had investigated combustion properties of natural textile dusts. Decomposition properles of natural textile dusts scavenged by precipitator of spinning factoη were investigated using D DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimeter) and TGA(Thermogravimetric Analysis) by temperature c changes. Combustion pro야rties of natural textile according to size distribution and amount were c checked as temperature variation according to time using spontan$\infty$us ignition apparatus. M Moreover, combustion properties with blowing or without blowing condition were checked in order to investigate combustion prope$\pi$ies in spontaneous ignition apparatus according to flow c condition of air. As results of thermal analyses, increase in r머sing tern야:rature causes initial smold벼ng t temperature to move towards low temperature section 뻐d i띠디떠 smoldering temperature was d de$\sigma$eased more remarkably in atmosphere than in inert gas and that condition allowed heating v value to increase considerably. In addition, as amount and size distribution of natural textile d dusts were increased, i띠ti머 smoldering temperature was lowered. All of combustion forms were s smoldering combustion. Initial smold밍ing temperature was low more slightly with blowing c condition than without blowing condition in sp$\alpha$ltaneoUS ignition apparatus, which condition m made heatim;!; value high.

  • This study surveys the characteristics of the PU/MWNT foaming film according to foaming conditions. For this purpose, firstly, 16 kinds of PU/MWNT forming films were prepared with 4 kinds of dispersion solutions (IPA/MWNT, DMF/MWNT, MEK/MWNT, and Toluene/MWNT) and 4 kinds of blowing agents (organic I, organic II, capsule, and inorganic). The electrical resistivity of these PU/MWNT foaming films according to the dispersion solutions and blowing agents were analysed and discussed with surface profile and cell morphology of measured by SEM. And secondly, 24 kinds of PU/MWNT foaming films were also prepared with 2 kinds of IPA dispersion solution contents and 3 kinds of blowing agents with variation of the blowing temperatures and film thickness. The physical properties of the PU/MWNT foaming films such as electrical resistivity (surface and volume) and triboelectricity with cell morphology were measured and discused through the quantities of IPA, blowing agent added and also physical conditions(temperature, thickness so on) for establishing optimum foaming conditions with good electrostatic dissipation.

  • Blowing film was prepared using polyester elastomer with thermally expandable microcapsule to investigate the optimum blowing properties and the film making process. Physical properties including specific gravity, blowing efficiency, foaming shape, tensile strength and elongation of polyester film were tested by varying the process condition of temperature and revolution per minutes of the extruder. The lowest specific gravity of 0.709 can be achieved with excellent foaming cells at $210^{\circ}C$ and 50 RPM conditions. The highest tensile strength and elongation was shown at $210^{\circ}C$, 100 RPM and $230^{\circ}C$, 25 RPM conditions. However, most of the prepared polyester films showed over $1kg_f/mm^2$ of tensile strength which is reasonable value to use in film applications.

  • In order to investigate the effects of various injection hole shapes on the film cooling of turbine blade, three test models having cylindrical and shaped holes were used. A three-dimensional Navier-Stokes code with standard k-$\epsilon$ model was used to compute the film cooling coefficient on the film cooled turbine blade. Over 330,000 grids were used to compute the flow over the blade. Mainstream Reynolds number based on the cylinder diameter was $7.1{\times}10^4$. The turbulence intensity kept at $5.0\%$ for all inlets. The effect of coolant blowing ratio was studied for various blowing ratios. For each blowing ratios, wall temperatures around the surface of test model were calculated. Temperature was visualized using cartesian cut-cell method to obtain traces of the injected secondary air on the test surface, so we could interpret the film effectiveness as temperature distributions.

  • Experimental results describing the effects of blowing ratio on film cooling from two rows of holes with opposite orientation angles are presented. The inclination angle was fixed at $35^{\circ}$ and the orientation angles were set to be $45^{\circ}$ for downstream row. and $-45^{\circ}$ for upsream row. The studied blowing ratios were 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0. The boundary layer temperature distributions were measured using thermocouple at two downstream loundary layer temperature distributions were measured using thermocouple at two downstream locations. Detailed adiabatic film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient distributions were measured with TLC(Thermochromic Liquid Crystal). The adiabatic film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient distributions are discussed in connection with the injectant behaviors inferred from the boundary layer temperature distributions. Film cooling performance, represented by heat flux was calculated with the adiabatic film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient data.

Results show that the film-cooling performance could be significantly improved by the shaped injection holes. For higher blowing ratio, the spanwise-diffused injection holes are better due to the lower momentum flux away from the wall plane at the hole exit.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of blowing fan for reducing heat stress in lactating dairy cows in summer. Treatment conditions were divided into 3 types ; No blow(T1), blow to oblique angle(T2) and blow to right angle(T3). Feed intake milk yield, respiration rate, rectal temperature and plasma cortisol concenration were measured to investigate the effect of hot environment on the physiological, productive responses in lactating dairy cows. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The daily milk yields were 20.47, 22.82 and 24.31kg per head in T1, T2 and T3 during experimental period, respectively. The respiration rate was significantly (p<0.05) higher in T1 than those of T2 and T3. The rectal temperature in T1(39.4$^{\circ}C$) was higher than those of T2(39.1$^{\circ}C$), (P<0.05). The plasma cortisol concentration was higher in T1 than those of T2 and T3(P<0.05). It was suggested that blowing fan installed in the pen was effective means to reduce heat stress.

  • The perovskite solar cell is a next-generation solar cell that replaces the existing silicon solar cell. It is a solar cell device using an organic-inorganic hybrid material having a perovskite structure as a photoactive layer. It has advantages for the process and has shown rapid efficiency improvement over the past decade. In the process of commercialization of such perovskite solar cells, research and development for a large-area coating method should be carried out. As one of the large-area perovskite solar cell large-area coating methods, the slot-die coating method was studied. By using a meniscus to pass over the substrate and coating the solution, the 3D printer was equipped with a meniscus so that it could be coated. Variables that act during coating include bed temperature, coating speed, N2 blowing interval, N2 blowing height, N2 blowing intensity, etc. By controlling these, the perovskite absorption layer was manufactured and the coating conditions for manufacturing large-area devices were optimized.

  • A numerical study has been performed for the 2-dimensional film cooling employed in the cooling of hot components such as gas turbines. The flow and heat transfer characteristics are numerically simulated using FLUENT software. Blowing ratios vary from 0.25 to 5.0 and coolant injection angles vary from $15^{\circ}\;to\;60^{\circ}\;in\;15^{\circ}$ increment. The result shows that, for all cases, there exists a blowing ratio which maximizes film cooling effect (measured by the distance from the slot exit to the downstream wall location at which temperature increases to 900 K) for a given injection angle. It is also observed that the film cooling effectiveness decreases when downstream wall is sunk or lifted. The simulation has been performed using both constant properties and temperature dependent variable properties. It is found that the cases with constant properties overestimate the film cooling effect considerably.
