Thermosensitive nanoparticles were prepared via the self-assembly of two different $poly({\varepsilon}-caprolactone)$-based block copolymers of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-b-$poly({\varepsilon}-caprolactone)$ (PNPCL) and poly(ethylene glycol)-b-$poly({\varepsilon}-caprolactone)$ (PEGCL). The self-aggregation and thermosensitive behaviors of the mixed nanoparticles were investigated using $^1H-NMR$, turbidimetry, differential scanning microcalorimetry (micro-DSC), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and fluorescence spectroscopy. The copolymer mixtures (mixed nanoparticles, M1-M5, with different PNPCL content) formed nano-sized self-aggregates in an aqueous environment via the intra- and/or intermolecular association of hydrophobic PCL chains. The microscopic investigation of the mixed nanoparticles showed that the critical aggregation concentration (cac), the partition equilibrium constants $(K_v)$ of pyrene, and the aggregation number of PCL chains per one hydrophobic microdomain varied in accordance with the compositions of the mixed nanoparticles. Furthermore, the PNPCL harboring mixed nanoparticles evidenced phase transition behavior, originated by coil to the globule transition of PNiPAAm block upon heating, thereby resulting in the turbidity change, endothermic heat exchange, and particle size reduction upon heating. The drug release tests showed that the formation of the thermosensitive hydrogel layer enhanced the sustained drug release patterns by functioning as an additional diffusion barrier.
Thermosensitive block copolymers of ethylene oxide and N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) were synthesized. A five armed star shape oligo(ethylene oxide) initiator with a cyclotriphosphazene core was prepared and used for the atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of NIPAM. The lower critical solution temperatures (LCSTs) of the copolymers were 36 to 46 ${^{\circ}C}$, higher than that of PNIPAM (32 ${^{\circ}C}$), depending on their molecular weights. The copolymers were soluble in water below the LCSTs but formed micelles above the LCSTs. The thermosensitive micellization behaviors of the polymers were investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy. With increasing the temperature of an aqueous solution of P2 and pyrene above the LCST, the peak of 333 nm red-shifted to appear around 339 nm and its intensity increased significantly, indicating the micelle formation. The transfer of pyrene into the micelles was also confirmed by a confocal laser scanning microscope. The fluorescence image obtained from P2 in an aqueous pyrene solution exhibited a green emission resulting from the pyrene transferred into the micelles. Salt effects on the solubility of the copolymers in an aqueous solution were investigated. The LCST of P2 decreased sharply as the concentration of sodium chloride increased, while decreased slowly with potassium chloride.
The quantitative analysis of polymer micelles consisting of amphiphilic block copolymers was carried out by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). The block copolymers, made of poly(2-ethoxyethyl vinyl ether-b-2-hydroxyethyl vinyl ether)(poly(EOVE-b-HOVE)), exhibited a sharp morphological transition from a homogeneous solution to a micelle structure with increasing temperature. This transition is accompanied by a formation of spherical domains of poly(EOVE) with a radius around 200 $\AA$. The variations of the size and its distribution of the domains were investigated as a function of polymer concentration and temperature. The validity of SANS analysis, including the wavelength- and incident-beam-smearing effects of the SANS instrument, was examined with a pre-calibrated polystyrene latex.
The purpose of this study is to present the direction of the plan to transform the residential complex into a space that can provide an open residential environment that can lead to social communication and exchange without being closed to the urban residential environment, especially in the apartment complex environment, which is becoming more dense. As a result of the Openness analysis of the 'Codan Shinonome Canal Court', the overall accessibility was good in terms of space utilization, and the openness was low in terms of the spatial composition, which is a physical environment due to the dense block type. When looking at the overall openness of the Codan Sinonome complex in terms of analysis by block, the corrected openness index (C.O.I) for all six blocks was 0.245, the corrected accessibility index (C.A.I) was 1.447 and the openness composite index (O.C.I) was assessed at 1.692. This was due to the formation of high-density block-type urban dwellings and the introduction of S-shaped streets and the layout of low-rise urban support facilities and commercial facilities. The Codan Sinonome Canal Court, which is considered an "open city residence," quantitatively confirmed that it embodies macro-space structure and human-scale space environment even in high-precision environments.
Recent studies for the Milky Way globular clusters (GCs) have reported that most of them host multiple stellar populations. However, only a few GCs have shown abundance variations in heavy elements such as iron and calcium. These GCs, as galaxy building blocks, are important to understand the formation of the Milky Way in hierarchical merging paradigm. In this study, we report our discovery from the Ca narrow-band photometry and low-resolution spectroscopy that NGC 6273 is a new Milky Way building block candidate.
The three-dimensional unsteady compressible Full Navier-Stokes equation solver with sliding multi-block method has been applied to analyze three dimensional characteristics of the flow field and compression wave around the high speed train which Is entering into a tunnel. The numerical scheme of AF + ADI was used to efficiently solve Navier-Stokes equations in the curvilinear coordinate system. The vortex formation around the nose region was found and the generation of compression wave due to the blockage effects was observed ahead of the train in the form of plane wave. The three dimensional characteristics of the flow field compared to the analytic results were discussed in detail. The variation of pressure of tunnel wall surface and velocity profile of the train are identified as the train enters into a tunnel. The changes in aerodynamic forces and streamlines of each specific sections are also discussed and presented.

We have demonstrated the formation of highly nanoporous films composed of two different BCMs through layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly on substrates. The films thus prepared showed tunable optical properties, with strong antireflective properties with light transmission above 99%. Considering the wide application areas of both LbL multilayers and block copolymer thin films, the approaches introduced in present study are likely to open up new possibilities for devices with multifunctional properties.
To repair bony defects with tansplanted bone in the body, fresh autogenous bone is undoubtly, the most effective bone graft for clinical applications. But the demineralized bone has the matrix-induced bone formation which was suggested by Urist in 1965. Many authors assisted that demineralized bone powder induces phenotypic conversion of mesenchymal cells into osteoblasts, with high-density bone formation. The process of inducing differentiated cells becomes osteogenic properties. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the osteoinductive capacity of allogenic freeze-dried demineralized bone block (FDD, $7{\times}7mm$) and to compare FDD with the same sue of deep-frozen allogenic bone(DF), fresh autogenous bone (A) after implantation. The histological and ultrastructural features of tissue responses were examined after 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks implantation of each experimental groups in the operative site of the New Zealand white rabbits. The results were as follows : 1. Inflammatory cell infiltration generally has appeared at 1 week, but reduced at 4 weeks in each group, but most severe in DF group. 2. Osteoblastic activity has increased for 4 weeks, but decreased at 6 weeks in each group and there was no significant difference among experimental groups. 3. New bone formation has begun at 1week, least activations in A groups, and showed the revesal line of bone formation among each group at 6 to 8 weeks. 4. Bone resorption has appeared at 1 week, but disappeared at 4 weeks in both A and DF groups, but more severe in DF than A groups. 5. In ultrastructural changs, the DF group have showed the most remarkable osteoclastic activities among experimental groups. 6. Osteoid or tangled collagen fibrils near the implanted sites were replaced by more mature, lamellated bony trabeculae during bone remodeling. There was little difference among each experimental groups. 7. During the convertion osteoblasts to osteocytes which embedded within the bone matrix, there was organ-less-poor cytoplasm, increased nuclear chromatin, abundant rough endothelial reticulum (RER) in each groups. From the above the findings, the DF group shored more bone resorption and foreign body reaction than FDD and A groups, and FDD group showed more new bone formation or osteoblastic activity than DF and A groups in early stage. There was no significant difference of cellular activities among the FDD DF, and A groups according to the time.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of demineralized freeze dried bone and demineralized bone gel with guided tissue regeneration treatment around titanium implants with dehisced bony defects and also evaluate space maintaining capacity of demineralized bone gel type and DFDB powder type under e-PTFE membrane. In 3 Beagle dogs, mandibular premolar was extracted and four peri-implant osteotomies were formed for dehiscence. After insertion of implants, the four peri-implant defects were treated as follows. 1) In control group. no graft material and barrier membrane were applied. 2) In experimental group.1, the site was covered only with the e-PTFE membrane. 3) In experimental group 2,received DFDB powder and covered by the e-PTFE membrane. 4) In experimental group 3, demineralized bone gel and e-PTFE membrane were used. By random selection, animals were sacrificed at 4, 8, 12 weeks. The block sectioned specimens were prepared for decalcified histologic evaluation(hematoxylin and eosin staining) and undecalcified histologic evahiation(Von Kossa's and toluidine blue staining) with light microscopy. The results of this study were as follows. 1) In control group, there was a little new bone formation and connective tissue was completely filled in the defect area. 2) Experimental group 1 showed lesser quantity of bone formation as compared to the bone grafted group. Thin vertical growth of new bone formation around implant fixture was shown. 3) Experimental group 2 showed thick bucco-lingual growth of new bone formation and grafted bone particles were almost resorbed in 12 week group. 4) In experimental group 3, most grafted bone particles were not resorbed in 12 week group and thick bucco-lingual bone formation was shown in dehisced defect base area. 5) There was no remarkable differences in space making capacity and new bone formation procedure between demineralized freeze-dried bone powder type and demineralized bone gel type.
