엔진블럭 가공라인 초기설계안 검증을 위한 시뮬레이션 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Verification of the Initial Layout of Engine Block Machining Line Using Simulation)

  • The major components of an engine are engine block (or cylinder block), cylinder head, crank shaft, connecting rod and cam shaft. Thus the engine shop usually consists of six sub-lines, five machining lines and one assembly line. Flow line is the typical concept of layout for machining these parts, especially for engine block. In order to design an engine block machining line, several factors should be considered such as yearly production target, working hours, machines, tools, material handling equipments and so on. If the designers of manufacturing line were unaware of some factors those would be influenced on the system performance, it would make greater problems in the phase of mass production. Therefore the initial design of engine block machining line should be verified carefully. Simulation is the most powerful tool for analyzing the initial layout. This paper introduces the major factors those should be considered for designing the machining line and their effects on the system performance. 3D simulation models are developed with QUEST. Using the simulation model developed the initial layout is analyzed, and we suggest some ideas for improvement.

Mantle Field에서 Lung Block의 선량분포 고려 (Dosimetric Consideration of the Lung Block in the Mantle Field)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the dose under lung block as a function of depth and the effectiveness of a block as a function of block width. Materials and Methods : Field size of mantle field was $22.8{\times}32.4cm^2.$ Dose distribution of the mantle field was measured with two dimensional water phantom system. To analyze the effectiveness of the lung block. central axis plane, 5cm off-axis plane, and 10cm off-axis plane were studied. Results: The dose under the lung block was recorded with maximum at the depth between 5cm and 10cm. In the central axis plane, dosimetric block width was $10-15\%$ less than physical block width. In the 5cm off-axis plane, dosimetric block width was $4-9\%$ less than physical block width. In the 10cm off-axis plane, dosimetric block width was $2\%$ less than physical block width. Conclusion: Depth dependence of the dose under the lung block was founded. Also, block width dependence of the lung block was founded. To induce the accurate relation between the physical block width and the 'effective' block width, it needs more detailed understanding of the variables involved.

  • In this study, the block section length of the given area has been analyzed to improve the headway which caused by the mixed operation of high speed trains and normal trains on the electrified railway of Dongdaegu to Busan. After establishing the average length of block section and the adjustable average length of block section of Dongdaegu to Busan, it is possible to perform the headway simulation regarding the signal system based on the established length. Although high speed trains as well as low speed trains including freight trains operate together, the experimental results indicate that the modification of the block section length shows the possibility of the improvement of headway.

An Efficient Design of a DC-Block Band Pass Filter for the L-Band

  • In this paper, three DC Block designs are presented which efficiently meet the need of modern-day compactsize wireless communication systems. As one of the important parts of a complete system design, the proposed microstrip-based DC block with coupled transmission lines efficiently attenuates unwanted frequencies that cause damage to the system. The compact-sized DC block structures are created by incorporating an extended coupled-line section with a radial stub, an enveloped coupled-line section, and using alternate up-down meandering techniques. The structures are analyzed for the L-Band using a high-resistive silicon substrate. At a resonating frequency of 1.575 GHz, the designed DC Block structures have a return loss better than -10 dB, an insertion loss of around -1 dB, and also possess wide pass-band characteristics.

  • In this thesis, A methodology of system implement for PID controller, PWM logic, HSC logic, Host Communication and external DAC interface are implemented into single FPGA chip is proposed. The implemented system is used to control the speed of DC servo motor. A DATA block transfers set point value(SV) and P, I, D gain parameters to the corresponding Blocks respectively by the Host Communication to Computer. A HSC block generates process value(PV) by a pulse and $90^{\circ}$ shifted pulse from the encoder A PID block makes error(E) signal from the set value and process value and output manufacture value(MV) through the PID controller. In PWM block using the MV from the PID block, drives H-bridge controlling the Motor. Also DAC interface controls the DAC to graph the digital signal such as SV, PV, E, MV in FPGA onto the Oscilloscope.

  • As the on-board electric devices determine the performances of vehicles, production of reliable devices is important. To keep the reliability of devices constant, management of performance evaluation of the on-board devices is crucial. Because temperature has a serious effect on failures of the components of the devices, its measurement is the first step for good management. In this study, we described performance characteristics of domestic auxiliary block developed through G7 project. We measured the performances of auxiliary block during test running by the developed on-line measurement system. After we save the input real-time data from each signal of Korean High Speed Train through the network line, we can acquire necessary information through post-processing program. We verify the motor block characteristics of Korean High Speed Train by this system.

  • Used analog control systems have been converted into digital control systems due to performance degradation and difficulty of maintenance. There are few domestic DCS (Distribued Control System)s that have been applied to Bower plant. To apply a demestic DCS to power plant, the reliability, redundacny, and fault tolerance of DCS is important. Besides those items, the control action of control function block is also important. In this paper, we describe the requirements that PID control function block has to have, and implement a PID control function block that satisfies those requirements. Finally. simulation result using digital simulator for boiler system in thermal power plant shows the validity of a implemented PID control function block.

A Network Load Sensitive Block Placement Strategy of HDFS

  • This paper investigates and analyzes the default block placement strategy of HDFS. HDFS is a typical representative distributed file system to stream vast amount of data effectively at high bandwidth to user applications. However, the default HDFS block placement policy assumes that all nodes in the cluster are homogeneous, and places blocks with a simple RoundRobin strategy without considering any nodes' resource characteristics, which decreases self-adaptability of the system. The primary contribution of this paper is the proposition of a network load sensitive block placement strategy. We have implemented our algorithm and justify it through extensive simulations and comparison with similar existing studies. The results indicate that our work not only performs much better in the data distribution but also improves write performance more significantly than the others.

MIMO LBR 시스템 구현을 위한 회전 블록 구조 (Rotation block structures for MIMO LBR realizations)

  • In this paper we propose various rotation block realization method of MIMO LBR system. For this, we first discuss how to realize a given LBR system in the form of LBR two-pair cascades. Then we examine several systematic extraction procedures which enable to realize each LBR two-pair in the form of rotation block. Then we consider which realization methods we select for each two-pair block in view of the dynamci range of the coefficients of the rotation blocks. Finally, we demonstrate the LBR realization method using a detailed numerical example that converts a 4th order IIR filter function into a 4*4 transform domain transfer matrix, and then realizes it in a rotation-block cascade.
