This paper presents the design of a submerged breakwater, which functions as an eco-structure in a marine environment. Newly patented blocks were used in the submerged breakwater to both make it stable and provide an inhabitable space for fish. To investigate the wave transmission of the proposed submerged breakwater, parametric studies were conducted through two-dimensional hydraulic tests, which were carried out at the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) in South Korea. Those parameters are relative crest width (B/L), wave steepness (H/L), relative crest depth (hB/H), and submerged breakwater configuration. The hydraulic experimental results can be used to predict the performance of the proposed submerged breakwater covered with the multi-function blocks.
In this paper, we propose an effective compression method for electrocardiogram(ECG) signals. 1-D ECG signals are reconstructed to 2-D ECG data by period and complexity sorting schemes with image compression techniques to Increase inter and intra-beat correlation. The proposed method added block division and mean-period normalization techniques on top of conventional 2-D data ECG compression methods. JPEG 2000 is chosen for compression of 2-D ECG data. Standard MIT-BIH arrhythmia database is used for evaluation and experiment. The results show that the proposed method outperforms compared to the most recent literature especially in case of high compression rate.
In this letter, we propose a quasi-orthogonal space-time-frequency (QOSTF) block coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) that can achieve full symbol rate with four transmit antennas. Since the proposed QOSTF-OFDM cannot achieve full diversity, we use a diversity advantage collection with zero forcing (DAC-ZF) decoder to compensate the diversity loss at the receiving side. Due to modulation advantage and collected diversity advantage, the proposed scheme exhibits a better bit-error rate performance than other orthogonal schemes.
The present study was motivated by increasing demands on quantitative measurements of the heat flux through the water cooling and quenching process of hot steel. The local heat flux measurements are employed by a novel experimental technique that has a function of high-temperature heat flux gauge in which test block assemblies are directly used to measure the heat flux variation during water cooling and quenching of hot steel. The heat flux can be directly achieved by Fourier's law and is also compared with numerical estimation which is solved by inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP). The high-temperature heat flux gauge developed in this study can be applicable to measure cooling rate and history during the actual cooling applications of steelmaking process. In addition, the measurement uncertainty of heat flux is calculated by a quantitative uncertainty analysis which is based on the ANSI/ASME PTC 19.1-2005 standard.
This study investigated the acoustical characteristics of phonatory offset-onset mechanisms. And this study shows the comparative results between non-stutterers (N=3) and a stutterer (N=1). Phonatory offset-onset means a laryngeal articulatory in the connected speech. In the phonetic context V_V), pattern 0(there is no changes) appeared in all subjects, and pattern 4(this indicate the trace of glottal fry and closure in spectrogram)was only in a Stutterer. In high vowels(/i/, /u/), pattern 3 and 4 appeared only in a stutterer. Although there is no common pattern among the non-stutterers, individual's preference pattern was founded. This study offers the key to an understanding of physiological movement on a block of stutter.
Mobile fish-cage was developed assuming a cage net with an enclosed area, which and estimated the hydrodynamic characteristics of the cage through the model experiment. Flux-shielding plates, installed in the bow were compared with the resistance test carried out by making a hole, bilge keel and stud, and basic block flow rate consisting of the results to a flat surface plate. The experimental results confirmed the improved resistance performance effect of 3~6% in the bilge keel and the stud form. To assess the stability of the fish-cage, evaluation of the stability in accordance with the stability criteria for determining the floating docks had confirmed that it satisfied the static stability performance under operating conditions at sea.

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, impulsiveness and problems in other higher cognitive processes such as executive function deficits. Currently, there are many treatment modalities, of which pharmacotherapy is the most strongly supported by scientific and clinical evidence. Stimulants, which are first choice in the pharmacological treatment of ADHD, block dopamine reuptake by binding the dopamine transporter and so increasing the concentration of dopamine in synaptic clefts. Stimulants are effective in improving core ADHD symptoms, as well as the nonspecific symptoms, such as aggressiveness and oppositional behavior. Frequently reported short-term adverse effects are decreased appetite, sleep disturbance, headache, dizziness and irritability. Although questions have been raised about the long-term side effects of stimulants, including growth suppression, cardiovascular events, and abuse potential, there is no clear evidence to support these concerns.
Milling fixture is one kind of machining device according to the industrial demands for multi manufacturing products on the growing at alarming rate. In the field of design and making for machine tool working, welding, assembling with fixture for mass production is a specific division. In order to prevent the production defects, occurring, the optimum design of product, fixture putting in the field is very significant manufacturing method. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, theory and practice of machine tool operating process and its situations, fixture and its structure, machining condition for tool making tool materials, heat treatment of fixture components, know-how and so on. In this study we designed and constructed a milling fixture of mass production and performed tryout under the AUTO CAD, database, I-DEAS and WINDOW environment. Especially part 1 of this study is reveals with the analysis of part drawing, fixture planning, fixture design etc.
