  • In this paper we designed the motor control IP Core and evaluate its quality from the viewpoint of IP reuse. The most attractive merit of this methodology, so called IP-based hardware design, is hardware reuse. Although various vendors designed hardware with the same specification and got the same functional results, all that IPs is not the same quality in the reuse aspect. As tremendous calls for SoC have been increased, associated research about IP quality standard, VSIA(Virtual Socket Interface Alliance) and STARC(Semiconductor Technology Academic Research Center), has been doing best to make the IP quality evaluation system. And they made what conforms to objective IP design standard. We suggest the methodology to evaluate our own designed motor control IP quality with this standard. To attain our goal, we designed motor control IP that could control the motor velocity and position with feedback compensation algorithm. This controller has some IP blocks : digital filter, quadrature decoder, position counter, motion compensator, and PWM generator. Each block's functionality was verified by simulator ModelSim and then its quality was evaluated. To evaluate the core, We use Vnavigator for lint test and ModelSim for coverage check. During lint process, We adapted the OpenMORE's rule based on RMM (Reuse Methodology Manual) and it could tell us our IP's quality in a manner of the scored value form. If it is high, its quality is also high, and vice versa. During coverage check ModelSim-SE is used for verifying how our test circuits cover designs. This objective methods using well-defined commercial coverage metrics could perform a quantitative analysis of simulation completeness. In this manner, We evaluated the designed motor control IP's quality from the viewpoint of reuse. This methodology will save the time and cost in designing SoC that should integrate various IPs. In addition to this, It can be the guide for comparing the equally specified IP's quality. After all, we are continuously looking forward to enhancing our motor control IP in the aspect of not only functional perfection but also IP reuse to prepare for the SoC-Compliant motor control IP design.

  • To handle the density increase of SRAMs, a new parallel testing methodology based on built-in self test (BIST) is developed, which allows to access multiple cells simultaneously. The main idea is that a march algorithm is dperformed concurently in each baisc marching block hwich makes up whole memory cell array. The new parallel access method is very efficient in speed and reuqires a very thny hardware overhead for BIST circuitry. Results show that the fault coverage of the applied march algorithm can be achieved with a lower complexity order. This new paralle testing algorithm tests an .root.n *.root.n SRAM which consists of .root.k * .root.k basic marching blocks in O(5*.root.k*(.root.k+.root.k)) test sequence.

  • A safety class field programmable gate array based system in nuclear power plant has been developed to improve the diversity. Testbench is necessary to satisfy the technical reference, IEC-62566, for verification and validation of register transfer level code. We use the open verification methodology(OVM) developed by standard body. We show that our testbench can use random input for test. And also we show that reusability of block level testbench for the integration level testbench, which is very efficient for large scale system like nuclear reactor protection system.

  • This paper attempts to characterize general tendency in water level fluctuations at paddy fields, that may be important to efficient irrigation water uses Banweol district was chosen to be the study area, and water levels among irrigation practice parameters were measured daily throughout the irrigation periods of 1985-1986. Time series analyses showed that water levels at fields have strong serial correlationships. A rather long term periodicity was also observed from spectral analyses. Correlationships between water levels at adjacent fields ranged 0.4-0.9, indicating wide variations in irrigation practices. The water levels showed little correlationships with meteorological factors like evapotranspiration, nor with irrigation practices like water supply rates. Standard errors of the average water levels were computed for different number of field plots within a block. The results indicated that low level areal coverage of gauging plots may be applied for field monitoring of daily water level fluctuations.

  • In this paper, we propose the test pattern generation algorithm of the embedded faulty MUX for the prevention of misdiagnosis of digital systems. When the system is partitioned with a large number of functional blocks, if the faults are exsisted in a embedded MUX then it can not diagnose the wanted observation of functional block. The proposed test pattern generstion algorithm can apply the MUXs that designd 2-level and multi-level both. Fault coverage becomes 100% and so it is no necessary of the additional fault simulation and the proposed algorithm that have the regulary and easily generated 2d test patterns. And we confirmed that the reduction of test cost becomes 85%, compared with the conventional segmentation testing scheme.

  • This study is to identify potential factors to impact on appearance of wildbirds which live in the core forest around urban area in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. As a result of analysis of, studies on biotope showed most of urbanization biotope was biotope of residential areas with high green coverage and biotope of residential and business areas with low green coverage while most of biotope of green and openspace was core green biotope. The research area was divided into several blocks based on biotope types in the urbanization areas excluding green and openspace. As a result of research on wildbirds, total 51 species 3,419 individuals appeared in spring and total 35 species 4,213 individuals appeared in winter. 24 wild bird species were selected as subjects of this study among 31 species seen in urbanization areas, since urban birds, rapacious birds, waterside birds were excluded from the study for the proper consideration. Then this study looked at how many species and individuals of the subjects were observed at each research block in urbanization areas during spring and winter separately. Landuse structure and green structure in each block were examined to see whether these structures affect the number of wild birds observed in urbanization areas of Gangdong-gu. Furthermore, the distance between these blocks and green was assessed. While studying the potential links between the landuse structure and the number of wild birds observed in urbanization areas of Gangdong-gu, block area, green coverage, and building-to-land ratio were believed to affect the number of types and species of wild birds in the research area. In terms of correlation analysis of whether green structure affected the number of wild birds observed in urbanization areas of Gangdong-gu, crown volume of layers, the average green patch area, the average height of canopy layer were found to have an impact not only on the number of types but also species of wild birds in the research area.

  • STUMPS has been widely used for built-in self-test of scan design with multiple scan chains. In the STUMPS architecture, there is very high correlation between the bit sequences in the adjacent scan chains. This correlation causes circuits lower the fault coverage. In order to solve this problem, an extra combinational circuit block(phase shifter) is placed between the LFSR and the inputs of STUMPS architecture despite the hardware overhead increase. This paper introduces an efficient test pattern generation technique and built-in self-test architecture for sequential circuits with multiple scan chains. The proposed test pattern generator is not used the input of LFSR and phase shifter, hence hardware overhead can be reduced and sufficiently high fault coverage is obtained. Only several XOR gates in each scan chain are required to modify the circuit for the scan BIST, so that the design is very simple.

  • Objectives: A clean India is the responsibility of all Indians. One of the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Initiative) is to bring about behavioural changes regarding healthy sanitation practices. While large-scale programs in India have increased latrine coverage, they have to some extent failed to bring behavioural changes ensuring optimal latrine use, including the safe disposal of child faeces, which is a significant source of exposure to faecal pathogens. Hence, this study was done to explore child faeces disposal practices in rural West Bengal and to elicit the determinants of unhygienic faeces disposal. Methods: Data collection was done using an interview method among the mothers of 502 under-5 children, following a pre-designed, semi-structured schedule during house-to-house visits in a set of villages in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. Results: The prevalence of unsafe disposal of child faeces was 72.4%, and maternal education, per capita income, and water source were found to be significantly associated with unsafe child faeces disposal. Conclusions: This study draws attention to the unsafe disposal of child faeces in this area of India and raises questions about the efficiency of sanitation campaigns in rural India that focus on expanding coverage rather than emphasizing behavioural changes, which are crucial to ensure the safe disposal of child faeces. Thus, it is urgently necessary to strengthen efforts focusing on behavioural changes regarding the safe disposal of child faeces in order to minimise adverse health outcomes.

  • A new type of reinforced earth wall(REW) system is developed with vegetated facing which provides proper environment for long-term vegetation and also applicable to high retaining wall system. Vegetated retaining wall is a green alternative for retaining walls and an effective way to reduce heat island effect than conventional block or concrete systems. Several construction sites using vegetated facing is observed to monitor adaptation state of vegetation and estimate surface temperature of wall facing over two years. It was observed that a number of plants including Siberian chrysanthemum adapt well to the inside of the facing blocks because vegetation bag helps to keep a proper condition for vegetation. According to the results using thermographic camera, average surface temperature of vegetated facing is higher for all ranges of coverage ratio of vegetation. The increment of average surface temperature of vegetated facing is larger than that of non-vegetated facing when the air temperature rises, and vice versa.

  • In this paper, we design multiple antenna relay transmission schemes of low complexity to enhance the spatial diversity in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The relay scheme underlined, can provide space time block coding (STBC) of OFDM signals in the time domain without IFFT and FFT operations with much reduced complexity. In this paper, we modify the conventional low-complexity STBC-OFDM relaying scheme to be compatible to the existing OFDM systems. In addition, we extend the proposed scheme for multiple antenna relays and provide performance enhancement strategies according to the channel quality information available at the relay. The proposed scheme is shown to improve the diversity and thereby to reduce the outage probability and coded bit error rate. Therefore, the proposed scheme will be promising for service quality improvement or coverage extension based on OFDM like wireless LANs and maritime communications.
