This study investigates the physical properties of Murata Vortex Spinning (MVS) blended yarn with yarn count(20's, 30's, 40's) and blend ratio(Polyester 100, Polyester70:Cotton30, Polyester50:Cotton50, Polyester30:Cotton70, and Polyester50:Tencel40:Cotton10). This study evaluated tenacity, elongation, bending rigidity, bending hysteresis, hairiness coefficient, irregularity and twist number. The structure of MVS blended yarn influenced stress, strain, bending rigidity, bending hysteresis and the hairiness coefficient of MVS blended yarn decreased as the yarn count increased. MVS blended yarn consists of core and sheath. The core of MVS blended yarn is composed of a parallel fiber with a wrapping fiber that covers thecore fiber. This special structure of the MVS blended yarn effects the physical properties of the yarn; in addition, the mechanical properties of the component fibers influenced the stress, strain, bending rigidity, bending hysteresis and hairiness coefficient of MVS blended yarn with the blend ratio. Polyester decreases and cotton increases resulted in decreased physical properties. A similar polyester content increased the tencel and physical properties. Appropriate physical properties and a variety of touch expression can be realized through a correct blend ratio.
The engine performance and combustion characteristics of methanol blended fuel in a multiple-point electronic control gasoline engine were discussed on the basis of experimental investigation. The effects of methanol blending fuel on combustion in cylinder were investigated under various conditions of engine cycle and blending ratio. The results showed that the engine performance was influenced by the methanol blended ratio. The results showed that the engine performance was influenced by the methanol blending ratio and the variations of operating conditions of test engine. The increase of blended fuel brought on the improvement of emission characteristics such as THC, CO, and NOx concentration. The effect of methanol blended fuel on the fuel consumption rate and the other characteristics of performance were discussed.
The objective of this work is to analyze the macroscopic behavior of spray and injection characteristics on the DME blended biodiesel at different mixing ratios by using spray visualization and injection rate measurement system. The spray images were analyzed to a spray tip penetration, a spray cone angle and a spray area distribution at various mixing ratio of DME by weight. The influence of different injection pressure and ambient pressure on the fuel spray characteristics are investigated for the various injection parameters. In order to analyze the injection characteristics of test fuels, the fuel injection rate is measured at various blending ratio. The variation of viscosity of the blended fuel by the mixing of DME fuel shows the improved effect of spray developments. Also, it was found that the injection quantities of high blended ratio were larger than that of lower blended fuel. Also, higher blending fuel showed a faster evaporation than that of mixing ratio of test fuel because kinetic viscosity was changed by blending ratio.
In this study the effects of swelling and fixing agent for the cotton side of polyester/cotton blended fabrics and the thermosol temperature on the dyeing properties and fastness. were investigated, when the polyester/cotton blended fabrics were dyed with a disperse dye which was able to dye both side of fiber by one bath one step thermosol process. The obtained results are as follows; The dye adsorption decreased with the increase of cotton blend ratio in polyester/cotton blended fabrics, when the ratio of swelling and fixing agent for cotton side was constant. As the thermosol temperature increased up to $210^{\circ}C$, the dye adsorption were increased, but that effect was less significant when the cotton blend ratio was higher.
Blending effects for generating a pretilt angle in nematic liquid crystal (NLC) with negative dielectric anisotropy on the blended polyimide (PI) of homeotropic and homogeneous alignment surface were studied. Also, we investigated the EO performances for the advanced VA-$\pi$ cell using this homeotropic blended PI surface. A many decrease of tilt angle on the polymer surface to blend homeotropic PI and homogeneous PI with side chain type was measured, and the tilt angle decreased as blended ratio and rubbing strength increase. The blended effects for generating a pretilt angle were clearly observed, and the many decrease of tilt angle can be achieved by using the blended PI surface. The electro-optical (EO) characteristics using the advanced VA-$\pi$ cell using the homeotropic blended PI surface than that of conventional VA cell can be improved. We suggest that the developed advanced VA-$\pi$ cell on a homeotropic blended PI surface is a promising technique for the achievement of a fast response time, and a high contrast ratio.

A many decrease of tilt angle on the polymer surface to blend homeotropic PI and homogeneous PI with side chain type was measured, and the tilt angle decreased as blended ratio and rubbing strength increase. However, a small decrease of tilt angle on the polymer surface to blend homeotropic PI and homogeneous PI with main chain type was measured. The blended effects for generating a pretilt angle were clearly observed, and the many decrease of tilt angle can be achieved by using the blended PI surface. The electro-optical (EO) characteristics using the advanced VA- $\pi$ cell using the homeotropic blended PI surface than that of conventional VA cell can be improved. This experimental study was carried out to estmate the effects of mixing dosage rate and blain on the compressive strength properties of antiwashout underwater concrete admixed with finely ground granulated blast furnace slag. The experimental parameters are slag contents(0, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60%). As a result the compressive strength have a high correlation with slag blended ratio. Thus, it is possible to calculate the modulus of modified age using compressive strength of antiwashout underwater concrete blended with slag.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of ethanol blending ratio and fuel temperature in diesel-ethanol blended fuel on the spray-atomization characteristics in a high pressure common-rail injection system. In this work, a diesel fuel and three blended fuels were used as test fuels. Blended fuels were made by blending ethanol with a purity 99.9% to diesel fuel, from 0% to 30%. In order to keep diesel-ethanol blending stability, 5% of biodiesel fuel as volumetric ratio was added into test fuels. The fuel temperature was controled in steps with 40K, from 290K to 370K. Macroscopic spray characteristics were investigated by analyzing the spray tip penetration and spray cone angle through spray images obtained from visualization system. In addition, in order to study microscopic spray characteristics of ethanol blended fuels, the droplet diameter, was analyzed using the droplet measuring system. It is revealed that the spray tip penetration is similar regardless of ethanol blending ratio. As ethanol blending ratio is increased, the spray cone angle becomes wider. It is shown that the spray cone angle is affected by low viscosity and density of ethanol. As the fuel temperature increases, the spray tip penetration and spray cone angle become shorter and narrower respectively. The SMD of ethanol blending fuels is smaller than that of diesel fuel because of low viscosity and surface tension of ethanol.
Recently, concrete using multicomponent blended cement has been required to increase the freeze-thaw and sulfate resistances of concrete structures exposed to a marine environment. Thus, the purpose of this study was to propose the use of concrete containing multicomponent blended cement as one of the alternatives for concrete structures exposed to a marine environment. For this purpose, batches of concrete containing ordinary portland cement (OPC), binary blended cement (OPC-G, G: ground granulated blast slag), ternary blended cement (OPC-GF, F: fly ash), and quaternary blended cement (OPC-GFM, M: mata-kaolin) were made using a water-binder ratio of 50%. Then, the durability levels, including thesulfate and freeze-thaw resistances, were estimated for concrete samples containing OPC, OPC-G, OPC-GF, and OPC-GFM. It was observed from the tests that the durability levels of the concrete samples containing OPC-G and OPC-GF were found to be much better than that of the concrete containing OPC. The optimum mixing proportions were a40% replacement ratio of ground granulated blast slag for the binary blended cement and a30% replacement ratio of ground granulated blast slag and 10% fly ash for the ternary blended cement.
