  • This paper is to introduce a lighting source controller using high brightness LED to create a clear and reliable condition for an accurate measurement and testing, which is a core technology in clinical image system and mechanical automation system. This controller is designed to supply a stable power in a constant-current system by installing a high brightness LED driver, and to improve the reproducibility of brightness by using 32-bit ARM processor core, dividing brightness quantity into 256 levels, making the remote control and the external interface possible, and preventing and digitizing the brightness inaccuracy caused by errors of resistance values. This controller enables the lighting range to be wide and possible in a low lighting level compared to analog, adds the RS-485 communication function, and makes it for the users to control the on-off function and the dimming level by receiving date from an external device.

  • The quantized beamforming systems always need the channel state information, which must be quantized into a finite set of vectors (named codebook), and feedback only sends the index representing the desired vector. Thereby it minimized the impact of feedback errors, caused by feedback overhead and delay. In this regard, index assignment (IA) methods, an exhaustive-search and group-based schemes, have been presented for minimizes the performance degradation without additional feedback bits. In this paper, we proposed enhanced group-based IA method, which used the optimal codebook design with chordal distance, having the adaptive properties in application of the existing IA methods. When the number of transmit antennas is 4 and LTE codebook is used, Monte-Carlo simulations verify that the proposed scheme has a power advantage of 0.5~1dB to obtain the same bit error rate than methods without IA, and it has 0.1~0.2 dB better performance compared with the existing IA methods over same environment.

  • Pre-processing is one of image processing techniques to enhance image quality or appropriately convert a given image into another form for a specific purpose. An 8 bit depth map obtained by a depth camera usually contains a lot of noisy components caused by the characteristics of depth camera and edges are also more distorted by the quality of a source object and illumination condition comparing with edges in RGB texture image. To reduce this distortion, we use noise removing filters, but they are only able to reduce noise components, so that distorted edges of depth map can not be properly recovered. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can reduce noise components and also enhance the quality of edges of depth map by using edges in RGB texture. Consequently, we can reduce errors in multi-view stereo image synthesis process.

  • A PLLIF (Planar Liquid Laser Induced Fluorescence) technique has been known to be a useful tool for the measurement of the spray patterns for various spray injectors because it can obtain two-dimensional images with high spatial resolutions without any intrusion on the spray field. In case of dense spray, however, the secondary emission as well as the extinction of an incident laser beam or a fluorescence signal can cause errors in quantifying a mass distribution. Unfortunately, a like-doublet injector which has a dense spray zone at the center may not be a good example or the application of the PLLIF technique. Therefore, we took PLLIF data for the like-doublet injector with a 12 bit color CCD camera by varying laser power, and then assessed their accuracy by comparing with the data obtained with a mechanical patternator and a PDPA (Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer). The experimental results showed that the gray level of fluorescence signal increases nonlinearly due to a secondary emission at the dense spray zone but this nonlinearity can be avoided by reducing the incident laser beam power. In addition, the mass flux distribution of the spray could be obtained by using the mass concentration data from PLLIF technique and the velocity profiles of liquid drops, and this distribution showed good agreement with that of mechanical pattemator. Therefore, it is possible that the PLLIF technique can be successfully applied to finding the mass distributions of like-doublet injectors.

  • There are many studies which reveal most of the accidents are related to pilot errors. Looking at each phase of flight, the accidents which occurred at the segments of take-off and landing consist of 70%, cause these phases need precise cooperations between pilots and ATC specialists to make sure every instructions understood and instruments to be normal. Therefore, the accidents of these phases leave great regrets and the price was enormous to people and equipments. Until now, most of the studies investigate the accident itself and very few show the relationships between pilots and air traffic controllers. This study analyzes the inter-dependence, mutual trust, dependability and satisfaction between them who play an important parts in flight. Based upon the findings, the impacts of relationships between them to aviation safety could be explained. As for the results, the inter-dependence, mutual trust, dependability and satisfaction are relatively high but the standpoint is little bit different for each of them. These findings suggest that the improvements of relationships between them need more effort than that of the present to ensure the aviation safety and efficient flights.

  • In the frame of Koreasat Project, it has been identified the task to implement a pilot satellite network module to provide LAN-to-LAn in ground system for satellite links. The pilot network will support an experiment to verify the performances of the considered applications through a satellite. This paper proposes a satellite-LAN interconnecting architecture making full use of satellite benefits and counteracting satellite demerits. The architectureprovides high quality data transmission and high perfrmance for satellite bit errors by using a connection- oriented satellite protocol which can establish multiple logical links between two nodes. As a protocol conversion method, router-type interconnection was selected to guard against problems. Based on this architecture, a satellite LAN interconnecting system has been designed, which includes a 1.8 meter antenna with a 4 watt transceiver, a satellite modem and the developed satellite network interface. The system can support high speed transmission rates of up to 1.544 Mbs and superior network management as well.

  • In this paper, a VLSI design of the convolutional codec chip of code rate r=l/3, and constraint length K=9 is presented, which is able to correct errors of the received data when transmitted data is corrupted in channels. The circuit design mainly aimed for simple implementation. In the decoder, Viterbi algorithm with 3-bit soft-decision is employed. For information sequence updating and storage, the register exchange method is employed, where the register length is 5$\times$K(45 stages). The codec chip is designed using VHDL language and Design Analyzer and VHDL Simulator of Synopsys are used for simulation and synthesis. The chip is composed of ENCODER block, ALIGN block, BMC block, ACS block, SEL_MIN block and REG_EXCH block. The operation of the codec chip is verified though the logic simulations, where several error conditions are assumed. As a result of the timing simulation after synthesis, the decoding speed of 325.5Kbps is achieved, and 6,894 gates is used.

  • Fuzzing is a method of testing software by randomly generating test cases. Since its introduction, a variety of fuzzing techniques have been studied. Among them, mutation-based fuzzing is an efficient method that finds real-world bugs even though it uses a simple approach such as probabilistic bit-flipping and character substitution. However, the interpreter fuzzing has difficulty in applying general mutation techniques because the interpreter requires grammar and semantic correctness input values. In this paper, we present a novel mutation-based fuzzing on JavaScript interpreters with a dynamic data flow analysis. To this end, we implement JMFuzzer that can generate various types of mutated test cases that operate normally without runtime errors in JavaScript interpreter considering syntax and semantics. As a result, we found numerous unknown vulnerabilities in the latest JavaScript interpreters. We reported all of them to the vendors.

  • In this paper, we present the implementation and performance analysis of H.324M mobile multimedia terminal which s under standardization. The H.324M is the mobile extension of H.324 which is the standard for low bit rate multimedia terminals operating over GSTN. For H.324M, the multiplexing protocol (H.223) of H.324 is enhanced to protect data from the transmission errors over mobile channels. The multiplexing protocol of H.324M is classified into Levels 0, 1, 2, and 3 depending on the level of error protection. Each Level is analyzed according to different types of the data loss elements. Simulation results show that the loss caused by the corrupted flag and header produces the most serious performance degradation. Levels 1 and 2 which protect the header and flag are effective in reducing the total loss. Furthermore, the optimal flag length and threshold value for Levels 1 and 2 are determined.
