  • This study investigated the children's perceived competences and other variables that are related to areas, children and the home. The subjects of this study were 183 elementary school children enrolled in grade 3 and their mothers. Instruments included the inventory of home stimulation(HOME), the perceived competences scale for children. The main results obtained from this study were as follows : The degree of children's perceived competences differd according to areas(urban and rural), children's sex, birth order, mother's education, father's education, mother's employment satisfaction, income of the family, type of the family. And the children's perceived competences and the home environment stimulation were a positive correlation. Especially HOME and areas(urban and rural) were important variables that effects children's perceived competences.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the agreement between parent and adolescent reports on parenting behaviors. The participants were 196 father-mother-adolescent triads. Results indicated that there were significant differences in reports of parenting behaviors between parents and adolescents. Generally, parents reported higher respect, disciplines and attention than their adolescents did. However, there were low to high agreements between parental report and adolescent report on parenting behaviors. The degree of those agreements varied by adolescent's developmental stage, birth order and mother's education. The findings suggested that differences in agreements between parent and adolescent reports on parenting behaviors might not be random and the agreements should be addressed in terms of specific sample characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between marital quality and parent-fetal attachment. The sample included 395 pregnant women and 251 spouses who participated in Pregnant Education Programs. We analyzed the data which were collected by means of a questionnaire from September to November, 2011. The results were summarized as follows: The total marital quality level of pregnant couples was above the average and parent- fetal attachment levels were very high. Result indicated a difference in pregnant women and spouses regarding marital quality and parent-fetal attachment. The pregnant woman's marital quality and parent characteristics (planned pregnant, pregnancy period, birth order) had a significant correlation with parent-fetal attachment. The higher effective communication and conflict resolution regarding marital quality were, the higher parent-fetal attachment was.

  • This study examined the effects of social capital and ego-resilience of children perceived parent-child relationship and sociodemographic variables on their school adjustment. The subjects were 384 4th, 5th and 6th grade students living in Gyeong-gi and Incheon. Collected data was subjected to descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson’s correlation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Results were : (a) Children’s school adjustment varied with their grade in school, birth order and mother’s employment. (b) Social capital of parent-child relationship, ego-resilience, and school adjustment were correlated with one another. (c) Control was the strongest predictor for children’s school adjustment.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the relationships between children's emotional regulation, perceived self-competence and behavior problem. The subjects were 357 elementary school students in Busan. The questionnaires on children's emotional regulation, perceived self-competence and behavior problem were used. The results were as follows: (1) According to sex, there were significant differences in children's emotional regulation scores(venting and support pursuit), and according to birth order, there were significant differences in children's perceived self-competence scores and behavior problem scores. (2) There were significant correlations between children's emotional regulation scores and behavior problem scores, and also there were significant correlations between children's perceived self-competence scores and behavior problem scores. (3) Children's perceived self-competence and emotional regulation explained children's anxiety behavior, withdrawal behavior, aggressive behavior, distracted behavior and regressive behavior.

  • This study investigated differences of opinion between youth and their parents about having permission to date. Opinions on youth dating permission was gathered from 150 adolescents and their parents. The results were as follows: first, for adolescents there were significant differences of opinion about youth dating permission depending on gender, age, scholastic record, and birth order, but for parents, the difference related to the gender and age of adolescents. Second, the result indicated that adolescents had a greater acceptance of dating permission than their parents, expressing a generational difference. Third, where the scholastic record of subjects was low, where subjects were non-eldest siblings, and where the parents' level of youth dating permission was high, the level of youth dating permission was higher. A main predictor of youth's level of dating permission was the level of the parents about youth dating.

  • Throughout the world in major urban centers, the volume of vehicular traffic on roads continues to increase. ITS provides drivers with traffic information and new routing options on route In order to make them move quickly to their destinations. The higher mobility, the more productivity we gain. The ultimate goal of Intelligent Transport System is to improve mobility. ITS world is broad and quite varied, as demonstrated by ITS user services, their distinct needs, and complex Interactions and synergies. ITS ties the transportation and telecommunication worlds together. The complex world of telecommunications is evolving and expanding rapidly. Especially over the last two decades, the birth and unprecedented growth of wireless is really marvelous and further holds tremendous promise into the future. This wireless and emerging technologies will offer extensive opportunities to handle many ITS user services, and alter many of the traditional paradigms of transportation.

  • Korea dairy market has greatly expanded recently by growing up the consumer's demands of high quality of milk products and their functionality due to expanding of well being lift trends. However, life cycle of dairy products is shorter than ever before and low birth rate is a common trend of Korean people. Moreover due to the national economy crisis, most of dairy companies are faced with the pressure of new milk products development and their sales. This paper deals with the development of Korea dairy industry by chronological order and deals with the future applicable new dairy foods and advanced dairy technology.

  • In order to understand the configuration of magnetic field producing a solar penumbral microjet that was recently discovered by Hinode, we performed a magnetohydrodynamic simulation reproducing a dynamic process of how that configuration is formed in a modeled solar penumbral region. A horizontal magnetic flux tube representing a penumbral filament is placed in a stratified atmosphere containing the background magnetic field that is directed in a relatively vertical direction. Between the flux tube and the background field there forms the intermediate region in which the magnetic field has a transitional configuration, and the simulation shows that in the intermediate region magnetic reconnection occurs to produce a clear jet- like structure as suggested by observations. The result that a continuous distribution of magnetic field in three-dimensional space gives birth to the intermediate region producing a jet presents a new view about the mechanism of a penumbral microjet, compared to a simplistic view that two field lines, one of which represents a penumbral filament and the other the background field, interact together to produce a jet. We also discuss the role of the intermediate region in protecting the structure of a penumbral filament subject to microjets.

  • Fathering practices were assessed by the modified version of the fathering Practices Scale while children's social adjustment was assessed by the Social Adjustment Scale in this study of 405 first to sixth grade children and their fathers. Fathering practices differed by father's age, education, occupation, amount of time with children, extent of participation in children's school activities, mother's job status, and children's birth order. Children's social adjustment varied by father's education, amount of time with children, and participation in children's school activities. There were correlations among all four factors of children's social adjustment and all eight factors of fathering practices. Father's responsibility for children was the strongest predictor of children's social adjustment.
