  • Background EEG signals can be represented as the sum of a conventional AR process and an innovation process. It Is know that conventional estimation techniques, such as least square estimates (LSE) or Gaussian maximum likelihood estimates (MLE-G ) are optimal when the innovation process satisfies the Gaussian or presumed distribution. When the data are contaminated by outliers, however, these assumptions are not met and the power spectrum estimated by conventional estimation techniques may be fatally biased. EEG signal may be affected by artifacts, which are outliers in the statistical term. So the robust filtering estimation technique is used against those artifacts and it performs well for the contaminated EEG signal.

  • The power spectrum of background EEG is estimated by the Plsarenko Harmonic Decomposition with the stochastic process whlch consists of the nonhamonic sinus Bid and the white nosie. The estimation results are examined and compared with the results from the maximum entropy spectral extimation, and the optimal order of this from the maximum entropy spectral extimation, and the optimal order of this model can be determined from the eigen value's fluctuation of autocorrelation of background EEG. From the comparing results, this method is possible to estimate the power spectrum of background EEG.

  • The essence of meridian collateral and acupoints is an overall physiologic unction with the level of multiple unctional states. However it is a pity that until present, so in this paper described about some experimental results of physical reactions of meridian and acupoints. In order to verify meridian pathway and channel theory of energy in body. It is suppose that substance of meridian is pathway channel of the meridian materials. In basic examination, It was analyzed spectrum of reflection waves after beat or continuos vibrate to meridian point and non-meridian point meridian line and non-meridian line. The characteristics of reflection waves similar to flow channel in hydrodynamic. So it be able to suggest that the meridian is pathway and channel in body.

  • HRV(heart rate variability) is the time series data of R-R interval time duration based on ECGs. Power spectral analysis of HRV has recently been used to define the activity of ANS(autonomic nervous system). In this study, 14 rats were divided into two groups, sympathectomy and vagotomy. During the experiments, ECGs of rats were collected three times at each experimental conditions or the duration of 5 minutes, where sampling frequency was set at 2KHz. After the application of the Berger's Serires algorithm to ECG raw data, power spectrum of HRV was obtained via FFT. Results showed that HF/LF were increased or the sympathectomy group and decreased or the vagotomy group. It implies that the variations in HF/LF components could be used or the ANS function classification.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the HRV(Heart Rate Variability) to visual and auditory stimulation. We analysed psychological effect and HRV of music, light, and music with light. The results show that HRV pattern is significantly related to the psychological effect, and HRV spectrum is useful to extract more information when various stimulation are presented.

  • The discrete Wigner-distribution(DWD) was implemented for the time-frequency analysis of heart rate variability signals. The smoothed cross-DWD was used to estimate time-varying power spectrum. Spurious cross-terms were suppressed using a smoothing data window and a Gauss frequency window. The DWD is very easy to implement using the FFT algorithm. Experiment show that the DWD follows well the instantaneous changes of spectral content of heart rate variability signals, which characterize the dynamics of autonomic nervous system response.

  • In the study on the quantitative diagnosis using ultrasound, the stability and precision of tissue characterized parameters are important for the clinical application. We estimate attenuation coefficient introducing homomorphlc process Into the modified spectral differnce method about silicon-madu phantom. We compare the results with those estimated uslng the method used for obtaining the attenuation map image before. Homomorphic process has the effect smoothing the reflected echo signal spectrum, therefore eliminat os the random pattern of the signal spectrum generated by the scatterers. As a result, it Is shown that the stability is enhanced

  • 3-[(1-Methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-y)thiomethyl] is one of the most important side chains in cephaloporins. This side chain which occures in numerous antibacterial agents, suc as cefamandole, latamoxef, cefoperazone, and cefmenoxime, contributes remarkable potency and broad spectrum. For the continuous work of study on the development of broad spectrum cephalosporins, we become interested in the effect of structural modification of the substituent at the N-1 position of mercaptoterazole toward biological activity because our recent work had demonstraated that the arylsubstituted mercaptotetrazoles (Fig. 1) had favorable effect on the activity against gram-positive bacteria. The main focus of this report was to investigate the relationship between activity and functional groups in the mercaptotetrazole.

  • This paper describes the AR model of EMG signal during maximum voluntary contraction. By comparing the AR coefficients and the reflection coefficients of the AR model with the median frequency of power spectrum, it is proved that muscle fatigue can be measured by the AR and the reflection coefficients. In the estimation procedure of AR model parameter, the autocorrelation method is superior to the covariance method, and it is determined that the optimal order is six. As the muscle becomes fatigue, the median frequency of power spectrum is declined, and the AR coefficient [$a_1$] and the reflection coefficient [$k_1$] are also decreased. Therefore the muscle fatigue can be measured by the AR parameter.

  • In this paper, we proposed the 2-stage ultrasound liver image classifier which uses the fractal dimensions obtained from the original image and its 1/2 subsampled image, and the Normalized Fourier Power Spectrum. The fractal dimension based on Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM) is calculated from the variance of the same scale pixels instead of the mean of them. Since the actual ultrasound. liver images does not fully match the FBM, to get the fractal dimension, we use the scale vectors which satisfy the FBM model. In 2-stage classifier, we first classified normal and diffuse liver and then classified the fat liver and cirrhosis from the diffuse liver. For the test liver images. 70% of normal liver and 80% of fat liver and 90% of cirrhosis is classified classified with our 2-stage classifier.
