  • In addition to the instability of energy import costs caused by the depletion of petroleum resources, which is a representative energy resource, and the strengthening of various regulations such as the convention on climate change, the plant for bio energy production, which is being watched as the next generation energy, and became subject of various complaints. In order to solve this problem, the bio-plant is underground and the ground is parked, making the convenience and accessibility of citizens more and more accessible. In this situation, the development of bioenergy production technology also increases the risk factor in bioenergy production process. Accordingly this paper explains method about apply the wide angle camera based AOA algorithm to the bio plant to prevent the accidents from spreading due to the lack of facilities and safety devices and the aging of the facilities and suggests a technique that can quickly identify the location and direction when it occurs.

  • Quasi-phase-matched (QPM) second harmonic generation (SHG) waveguide devices for a green light generation were fabricated by a periodically patterned electrode on the +Z crystal surface and homogeneous LiCl solution using a 5 mol% MgO doped congruent z-cut lithium niobate crystals. Using selective chemical etching, we confirmed the periodic (${\sim}6.8{\mu}m$) domain inverted structure and measured SHG properties of fabricated periodically poled MgO : $LiNbO_3$ ridge-type waveguides.

  • When external field was applied to congruent $LiNbO_3$, it was investgated for domain formation and expansion of $LiNbO_3$. The domain wall velocities of 0.5 mm thickness $LiNbO_3$ were 28.70, 16.02 and $5.75{\mu}m/sec$ under poling field of 23.5, 22.0 and 21.0 kV/mm, respectively. As $1 M{\Omega}$ resistor was used in domain inversion system, harmonic domain inversion was not achieved by rapid domain expansion. And 50% duty cycle periodically poled $LiNbO_3$ have been fabricated by charge control using $10 M{\Omega}$ resistor.

  • Background: Cellulose is a ubiquitous, renewable and environmentally friendly biopolymer, which has high promise to fulfil the rising demand for sustainable and biocompatible materials. Particularly, the recent progress in the synthesis of highly crystalline cellulose-based nanoscale biomaterials, namely cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), draws significant attention from many research communities, ranging from bioresource engineering, to materials science and engineering, to biological and biomedical engineering to bionanotechnology. The feasibility of harnessing CNCs' unique biophysicochemical properties has inspired their basic and applied research, offering much promise for new biomaterials with diverse advanced functionalities. Purpose: This review focuses on vital issues and topics on the recent advances in CNC-based biomaterials with potential, in particular, for bionanotechnology and biological and biomedical engineering. The challenges and limitations of CNC technology are discussed as well as potential strategies to overcome them, providing an essential source of information in the exploration of possible and futuristic applications of the CNC-based functional "green" nanomaterials. Conclusion: CNCs offer exciting possibilities for advanced "green" nanomaterials, driving innovative research and development in a wide range of fields, including biological and biomedical engineering.

  • The magnetic bio-sensor used the PHR (planar hall resistance) effect generated by the free layer in spin-valve giant magnetoresistance structure of Ta/NiFe/CoFe/Cu/NiFe/IrMn/Ta. The PHR element with micrometer size was fabricated through the photolithograph and dry etching process. The PHR signal with magnetic field was measured under the conditions of with and without single magnetic bead. A single magnetic bead of diameter $2.8\;{\mu}m$ was successfully detected using the PHR sensor. Therefore, the high resolution PHR sensor can be applied to bio-sensor application utilizing the output voltage variation of the PHR signals in the presence and absence of a single magnetic bead.

  • Micropatterns of streptavidin and human epidermal carcinoma A431 cells were successfully imaged, as received and without any labeling, using cluster $Au_3{^+}$ ion beam-based time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) together with a principal component analysis (PCA). Three different analysis ion beams ($Ga^+$, $Au^+$ and $Au_3{^+}$) were compared to obtain label-free TOF-SIMS chemical images of micropatterns of streptavidin, which were subsequently used for generating cell patterns. The image of the total positive ions obtained by the $Au_3{^+}$ primary ion beam corresponded to the actual image of micropatterns of streptavidin, whereas the total positive-ion images by $Ga^+$ or $Au^+$ primary ion beams did not. A PCA of the TOF-SIMS spectra was initially performed to identify characteristic secondary ions of streptavidin. Chemical images of each characteristic ion were reconstructed from the raw data and used in the second PCA run, which resulted in a contrasted - and corrected - image of the micropatterns of streptavidin by the $Ga^+$ and $Au^+$ ion beams. The findings herein suggest that using cluster-ion analysis beams and multivariate data analysis for TOF-SIMS chemical imaging would be an effectual method for producing label-free chemical images of micropatterns of biomolecules, including proteins and cells.

  • Sex steroid hormones are key molecules to prepare the decidual response and their levels are important in this process. Imbalances of the levels of steroid hormones are cause of implantation failure and other diseases including physical weakness. Androgen replacement therapy or selective androgen receptor modulator are used to overcome various diseases but long-term use may cause of side effects. In previous report, it is suggested that the steroid hormonal complexes derived from pig enhance the proliferation of satellite cell. Therefore, to evaluate the possible usage of steroid hormonal complex derived from pig testis (tS-C), the effects of tS-C on uterine response were studied using the model of artificial decidua. tS-C did not disturb the rhythmical estrus cycle. Artificial-induced decidual response was normally induced in tS-C administered mice. The histological characters of the decidua of tS-C administered mice were not different from the vehicle. The expression patterns of molecular markers of decidua were not different between vehicle and tS-C group. Collectively these results suggested that tS-C does not disturb the uterine responsibility to the embryo. In addition, our results suggested that tS-C can be applied to overcome the various problems such as loss of muscle mass and anemia.
