Hadoop is a framework to process large data sets in a distributed way across clusters of nodes. It has been a popular platform to process big data, but in recent years, other platforms became competitive ones depending on the characteristics of the application. Spark is one of distributed platforms to enable real-time data processing and improve overall processing performance over Hadoop by introducing in-memory processing instead of disk I/O. Whereas Hadoop is designed to work on Java and data analysis is processed using Java API, Spark provides a variety of APIs with Scala, Python, Java and R. In this paper, the goal is to find out whether the APIs of different programming languages af ect the performances in Spark. We chose two popular APIs: Python and Scala. Python is easy to learn and is used in AI domain in a wide range. Scala is a programming language with advantages of parallelism. Our experiment shows much faster processing with Scala API than Python API. For the performance issues on AI-based analysis, further study is needed.

Recently, the smart home environment is expected to be a platform that collects, integrates, and utilizes various data through convergence with wireless information and communication technology. In fact, the number of smart devices with various sensors is increasing inside smart homes. The amount of data that needs to be processed by the increased number of smart devices is also increasing, and big data processing systems are actively being introduced to handle it effectively. However, traditional big data processing systems have all requests directed to cluster drivers before they are allocated to distributed nodes, leading to reduced cluster-wide performance sharing as cluster drivers managing segmentation tasks become bottlenecks. In particular, there is a greater delay rate on smart home devices that constantly request small data processing. Thus, in this paper, we design a Apriori-based big data system for effective data processing in smart home environments where frequent requests occur at the same time. According to the performance evaluation results of the proposed system, the data processing time was reduced by up to 38.6% from at least 19.2% compared to the existing system. The reason for this result is related to the type of data being measured. Because the amount of data collected in a smart home environment is large, the use of cache servers plays a major role in data processing, and association analysis with Apriori algorithms stores highly relevant sensor data in the cache.

Big data processing applications have been migrated into cloud gradually, due to the advantages of cloud computing. Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is one of the fundamental support systems for big data processing on MapReduce-like frameworks, such as Hadoop and Spark. Since HDFS is not aware of the co-location of virtual machines in the cloud, the default scheme of block allocation in HDFS does not fit well in the cloud environments behaving in two aspects: data reliability loss and performance degradation. In this paper, we present a novel location-aware data block allocation strategy (LDBAS). LDBAS jointly optimizes data reliability and performance for upper-layer applications by allocating data blocks according to the locations and different processing capacities of virtual nodes in the cloud. We apply LDBAS to two stages of data allocation of HDFS in the cloud (the initial data allocation and data recovery), and design the corresponding algorithms. Finally, we implement LDBAS into an actual Hadoop cluster and evaluate the performance with the benchmark suite BigDataBench. The experimental results show that LDBAS can guarantee the designed data reliability while reducing the job execution time of the I/O-intensive applications in Hadoop by 8.9% on average and up to 11.2% compared with the original Hadoop in the cloud.

The distributed system is playing a vital role in storing and processing big data and data generation is speedily increasing from various sources every second. Hadoop has a scalable, and efficient distributed system supporting commodity hardware by combining different networks in the topographical locality. Node support in the Hadoop cluster is rapidly increasing in different versions which are facing difficulty to manage clusters. Hadoop does not provide Node management, adding and deletion node futures. Node identification in a cluster completely depends on DHCP servers which managing IP addresses, hostname based on the physical address (MAC) address of each Node. There is a scope to the hacker to theft the data using IP or Hostname and creating a disturbance in a distributed system by adding a malicious node, assigning duplicate IP. This paper proposing novel node management for the distributed system using DNA hiding and generating a unique key using a unique physical address (MAC) of each node and hostname. The proposed mechanism is providing better node management for the Hadoop cluster providing adding and deletion node mechanism by using limited computations and providing better node security from hackers. The main target of this paper is to propose an algorithm to implement Node information hiding in DNA sequences to increase and provide security to the node from hackers.
Many studies have been carried out for the development of big data utilization and analysis technology recently. There is a tendency that government agencies and companies to introduce a Hadoop of a processing platform for analyzing big data is increasing gradually. Increased interest with respect to the processing and analysis of these big data collection technology of data has become a major issue in parallel to it. However, study of the collection technology as compared to the study of data analysis techniques, it is insignificant situation. Therefore, in this paper, to build on the Hadoop cluster is a big data analysis platform, through the Apache sqoop, stylized from relational databases, to collect the data. In addition, to provide a sensor through the Apache flume, a system to collect on the basis of the data file of the Web application, the non-structured data such as log files to stream. The collection of data through these convergence would be able to utilize as a basic material of big data analysis.

Recently, during disasters occurrence, dealing with emergencies has been handled well by the early transmission of disaster relating notifications on social media networks (e.g., Twitter or Facebook). Intuitively, with their characteristics (e.g., real-time, mobility) and big communities whose users could be regarded as volunteers, social networks are proved to be a crucial role for disasters response. However, the amount of data transmitted during disasters is an obstacle for filtering informative messages; because the messages are diversity, large and very noise. This large volume of data could be seen as Social Big Data (SBD). In this paper, we proposed a big data platform for collecting and analyzing disasters' data from SBD. Firstly, we designed a collecting module; which could rapidly extract disasters' information from the Twitter; by big data frameworks supporting streaming data on distributed system; such as Kafka and Spark. Secondly, we developed an analyzing module which learned from SBD to distinguish the useful information from the irrelevant one. Finally, we also designed a real-time visualization on the web interface for displaying the results of analysis phase. To show the viability of our platform, we conducted experiments of the collecting and analyzing phases in 10 days for both real-time and historical tweets, which were about disasters happened in South Korea. The results prove that our big data platform could be applied to disaster information based systems, by providing a huge relevant data; which can be used for inferring affected regions and victims in disaster situations, from 21.000 collected tweets.

Intrusion detection has been widely studied in both industry and academia, but cybersecurity analysts always want more accuracy and global threat analysis to secure their systems in cyberspace. Big data represent the great challenge of intrusion detection systems, making it hard to monitor and analyze this large volume of data using traditional techniques. Recently, deep learning has been emerged as a new approach which enables the use of Big Data with a low training time and high accuracy rate. In this paper, we propose an approach of an IDS based on cloud computing and the integration of big data and deep learning techniques to detect different attacks as early as possible. To demonstrate the efficacy of this system, we implement the proposed system within Microsoft Azure Cloud, as it provides both processing power and storage capabilities, using a convolutional neural network (CNN-IDS) with the distributed computing environment Apache Spark, integrated with Keras Deep Learning Library. We study the performance of the model in two categories of classification (binary and multiclass) using CSE-CIC-IDS2018 dataset. Our system showed a great performance due to the integration of deep learning technique and Apache Spark engine.
Recently, with the remarkable increase of social network services, it is necessary to extract interesting information from lots of data about various individual opinions and preferences on SNS(Social Network Service). The sentiment information can be applied to various fields of society such as politics, public opinions, economics, personal services and entertainments. To extract sentiment information, it is necessary to use processing techniques that store a large amount of SNS data, extract meaningful data from them, and search the sentiment information. This paper proposes an efficient method to extract sentiment information from various unstructured big data on social networks using HDFS(Hadoop Distributed File System) platform and MapReduce functions. In experiments, the proposed method collects and stacks data steadily as the number of data is increased. When the proposed functions are applied to sentiment analysis, the system keeps load balancing and the analysis results are very close to the results of manual work.
Recently, the development of cloud computing technology is developed as soon as smartphones is increases, and increased that users want to receive big data service. Hadoop framework of the big data service is provided to hadoop file system and hadoop mapreduce supported by data-intensive distributed applications. But, smpartphone service using hadoop system is a very vulnerable state to data authentication. In this paper, we propose a initial authentication protocol of hadoop system assisted by smartphone service. Proposed protocol is combine symmetric key cryptography techniques with ECC algorithm in order to support the secure multiple data processing systems. In particular, the proposed protocol to access the system by the user Hadoop when processing data, the initial authentication key and the symmetric key instead of the elliptic curve by using the public key-based security is improved.

The various types of data are being created in large quantities resulting from the spread of social media and the mobile popularization. Many companies want to obtain valuable business information through the analysis of these large data. As a result, it is a trend to integrate the big data technologies into the company work. Especially, Hadoop is regarded as the most representative big data technology due to its terabytes of storage capacity, inexpensive construction cost, and fast data processing speed. However, the authentication token system of Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS) for the user authentication is currently vulnerable to the replay attack and the datanode hacking attack. This can cause that the company secrets or the personal information of customers on HDFS are exposed. In this paper, we analyze the possible security threats to HDFS when tokens or datanodes are exposed to the attackers. Finally, we propose the secure authentication protocol in HDFS based on hash chain.
