This paper investigates the spectrum hole utilization of cooperative schemes for the two-way relaying model in order to improve the utilization efficiency of limited spectrum holes in cognitive radio networks with imperfect spectrum sensing. We propose two specific bidirectional secondary data transmission (BSDT) schemes with two-step and three-step two-way relaying models, i.e., two-BSDT and three-BSDT schemes, where the spectrum sensing and the secondary data transmission are jointly designed. In the proposed cooperative schemes, the best two-way relay channel between two secondary users is selected from a group of secondary users serving as cognitive relays and assists the bi-directional communication between the two secondary users without a direct link. The closed-form asymptotic expressions for outage probabilities of the two schemes are derived with a primary user protection constraint over Rayleigh fading channels. Based on the derived outage probabilities, the spectrum hole utilization is calculated to evaluate the percentage of spectrum holes used by the two secondary users for their successful information exchange without channel outage. Numerical results show that the spectrum hole utilization depends on the spectrum sensing overhead and the channel gain from a primary user to secondary users. Additionally, we compare the spectrum hole utilization of the two schemes as the varying of secondary signal to noise ratio, the number of cognitive relays, and symmetric and asymmetric channels.

This paper proposes a modified algorithm that improves on Dijkstra's algorithm by applying it to purely two-way traffic paths, given that a road where bi-directional traffic is made possible shall be considered as an undirected graph. Dijkstra's algorithm is the most generally utilized form of shortest-path search mechanism in GPS navigation system. However, it requires a large amount of memory for execution for it selects the shortest path by calculating distance between the starting node and every other node in a given directed graph. Dijkstra's algorithm, therefore, may occasionally fail to provide real-time information on the shortest path. To rectify the aforementioned shortcomings of Dijkstra's algorithm, the proposed algorithm creates conditions favorable to the undirected graph. It firstly selects the shortest path from all path vertices except for the starting and destination vertices. It later chooses all vertex-outgoing edges that coincide with the shortest path setting edges so as to simultaneously explore various vertices. When tested on 9 different undirected graphs, the proposed algorithm has not only successfully found the shortest path in all, but did so by reducing the time by 60% and requiring less memory.

Mobile IP (MIP) is the solution supporting the mobility of Mobile Nodes (MNs), however, it is known to lack the support for NEtwork MObility (NEMO). NEMO manages situations when an entire network, composed of one or more subnets, dynamically changes its point of attachment to the Internet. NEMO Basic Support (NBS) protocol ensures session continuity for all the nodes in a mobile network, however, there exists a serious pinball routing problem. To overcome this weakness, there are many Route Optimization (RO) solutions such as Bi-directional Tunneling (BT) mechanism, Aggregation and Surrogate (A&S) mechanism, Recursive Approach, etc. The A&S RO mechanism is known to outperform the other RO mechanisms, except for the Binding Update (BU) cost. Although Improved Prefix Delegation (IPD) reduces the cost problem of Prefix Delegation (PD), a well-known A&S protocol, the BU cost problem still presents, especially when a large number of Mobile Routers (MRs) and MNs exist in the environment such as train, bus, ship, or aircraft. In this paper, a solution to reduce the cost of delivering the BU messages is proposed using a multicast mechanism instead of unicasting such as the traditional BU of the RO. The performance of the proposed multicast-based BU scheme is examined with an analytical model which shows that the BU cost enhancement is up to 32.9% over IPDbased, hence, it is feasible to predict that the proposed scheme could benefit in other NEMO RO protocols.

The information and communication technology that is being developed recently has been greatly influencing the automobile market. In recent years, devices equipped with IT technology have been installed for the safety and convenience of the driver. It is necessary to develop a system that can link the Smartphone with the vehicle in accordance with these changes. In this paper, first of all we analyze the car connectivity services that served by the other competitors. In addition, we proposed and implemented the improved system that can support and control most of smart device application in vehicle by user's NEEDS. We also implemented the application that can restrict the applications which unsatisfied the drive regulations and designed and proposed the scenario that can apply our company's car connectivity system in future.
This paper proposes a Multicast Tree Extension (MTE) scheme for multicast in IP-based wireless networks. If a group receiver Joins a multicast group in a visited foreign network, multicast service may be disrupted when the foreign network does not have a multicast router. To avoid disruption, our scheme creates a bi-directional tunnel between the previous foreign agent (FA) and new foreign agent, if a mobile node (MN) moves from a foreign network with multicast capability to another foreign network with non-multicast capability. The MN thus continues to receive the multicast packets through the tunnel from the previous FA. Our scheme can avoid a long latency due to a long tunneling for group membership as well as multicast service disruption, even if the MN enters foreign networks with non-multicast capability. Simulation results show that our scheme offers lower costs for multicast delivery, tunneling and handoff latency than the existing scheme.

This paper proposes a power system that includes a 120k W fuel cell DC-DC converter (FDC) and 30 kW bidirectional DC-DC converter (BHDC) for a 150 kW fuel-cell vehicle. With a high DC link voltage of 800 V, the efficiency and power density of the power electronic components are improved. Through the modular design of FDC and BHDC, electric components are shared, resulting in reduced mass production costs. The switching frequency of 30 kHz of full SiC devices and optimal design of coupled inductor reduce the volume, achieving a power density of 8.3 kW/L. Furthermore, a synergetic operation strategy using variable limiter control of FDC and BHDC was proposed to efficiently operate the fuel cell vehicle considering the fuel cell stack efficiency according to the load. Finally, the performance of the prototype was verified by Highway Fuel Economy Driving Schedule testing, EMI test, and the linked operation between FDC and BHDC. The full load efficiencies of the FDC and BHDC prototypes are 98.47% and 98.74%, respectively.
Most studies based on production function theory have concluded that economic growth is a result of information technology (IT) capital use. However, some studies have indicated that economic growth is a determinant of IT investment. To determine if these results also hold at the industry level, we use the Granger causality test to analyze bidirectional causality with industry-level data for 1977~2007 from the United States. The results generally reveal that IT investment causes economic growth in many industries under the concept of Granger causality, that economic growth causes IT investment in some industries, and that IT investment is not associated with economic growth in some industries. In the country-level time-series data made by summing up the IT capital and gross output for each industry, the results do not show any causality between IT investment and economic growth. However, they show bi-directional causality between IT investment and economic growth in the panel data. These results may be a source of IT productivity paradox.

In this paper, a quad-band antenna for DCS1800, PCS1900, WCDMA, WLAN and Mobile WiMAX application is proposed. The proposed antenna is a printed monopole structure, and consists of two rectangular ring-shaped radiating patches on the front side and two different size of L-shaped slots on the back side(ground plane). Two rectangular ring radiation patches are respectively resonant at 2 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands, and additional resonance is occurred at 5.3 GHz by the coupling effect between two ring patches. In addition, the optimized matching characteristic is obtained by controlling the gaps. Also, by adding two L-slots on the ground plane, additional resonant frequency band of 5.6 GHz is occurred. Finally the measured bandwidths of the proposed antenna below -10 dB return loss are 1,200 MHz(1.6~2.8 GHz), 800 MHz(3.2~4.0 GHz), 300 MHz(5.14~5.44 GHz), and 690 MHz(5.56~6.25 GHz). The radiation patterns have the omni-directional characteristic, and the measured antenna average gains at resonant bands are 0.86~4.07 dBi.

In this paper, we propose an efficient traffic grooming algorithm to minimize to number of SONET ADMs which is the dominant cost of system in high speed optical ring networks. It is an optimal traffic grooming algorithm to be applied to both unidirectional ring and bi-directional ring under both uniform traffic and nonuniform traffic. The proposed traffic grooming algorithm consists of two subalgorithms : one is the algorithm to construct full connection-rings as many as possible to minimize gaps by cutting the connections and using redirection method, and the other is the algorithm to groom connection-rings into a wavelength to maximize the number of shared nodes. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to conventional algorithm under various network conditions.

Considerable number of major countries have put great efforts to leverage the efficiency of power consumption using Smart Grid in order to resolve the critical issues with drastical growing demands regarding electricity, the crisis of environmental pollution and so on. There has been increasing number of researches to construct Smart Grid in Korea as well. The threats of cyber terror attacks which might cause national crisises in terms of economy and society have been climbing up because of the fact that Smart Grid employs bi-directional communications embedding the cyber threats from existing/legacy communication networks. Consequently, it is required to build concrete response processes including investigation and analysis on cyber breaches into Smart Grid. However, the digital evidence acquisition techniques do not suffice to be deployed in Smart Grid systems despite of the fact that the techniques, against cyber breaches into well-known networks, have been studied in plenty of time. This work proposes a novel digital evidence acquisition scheme appropriate to Smart Grid systems through intensive investigation of the evidence acquisition requirements in Smart Grid and the historical evidence acquisition methods.
