  • In this study, We made use of interelectrode capacitively coupled type plasma polymerization apparatus in order to make th organic optical thin films. We adopted in Benzen. Styrene, which have optical function in the organic world. It is manufactured polymerization thin films and examined optics properties by it respectively. We have known that the refractive index decreased as discharging power increased. At the middle wave length as 550[nm], the refractive index of Styrene is smaller than one of Benzen. Then, it is known that measured results are valid because the extinction coefficient(K) is about 10$\^$-4/ for variation of refractive index.

Effects of Plasticizer to Radioresistance and Electrical Conductivity of Irradiated Polyvinylchlorde (방사선(放射線)으로 조사(照射)된 Polyvinylchloride의 내방사성(耐放射性) 전기전도도(電氣傳導度)에 가소제(可塑劑)가 미치는 영향(影響))

  • In order to investigate corelation between contents of dioctylphthalate in polyvinylchloride blent dibutyl tin dilaulate with dibutyl tin maleate as stabilizer and the behaviors of radiation resistance as well as electrical conductivity on irradiated specimens, several observations were carried out. A characteristic peak observed in the range of $1,540-1,640cm^{-1}$ on infrared spectra shows such a sensitive response to radiation as the intensity decreases with increasing doses and that this tendency strongly depressed in the presence of plasticizer. It is seemingly attributed for origin of the peak to the existence of RCOO- ion resulting from dissociation of stabilizere, further the depressive effect of decreasing peak intensity influenced by radiation seems to be caused by resonance absorption in benzen ring being a consistituent of plasticizer. It is also suggestive to be use the peak behavior influenced by radiation as a criterion for the evaluation of radiation resistance of PVC. Further the results obtained from electrical conductivity measurement also exhibit reasonable characteristics explainable with views used for the interpretation of the peak behavior mentioned previousely.

A Study on the Development of Soil-based PTMs for Analysis of BTEX (BTEX 분석용 토양 숙련도 표준시료(PTMs) 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, two kinds of soil-based proficiency testing materials (PTMs), NICE-012L and NICE-012R were prepared and certified for Benzen, Toluene, Etylbenzene and Xylene with evaluation of uncertainties. In order to analyse BTEX (Benzen Toluene Etylbenzene Xylene) for the candidate materials, GC/MS was used after pretreatment according to methods of soil analysis by Ministry of Environment. For the homogeneity test among bottles in terms of candidate materials, ISO 13528 and IUPAC Protocol were used and according to the result, both candidate materials showed sufficient homogeneity. Also, the stability test over the candidate materials was accessed according to the ISO Guide 35 by classifying short-term and long-term stability and the result showed that both candidate materials showed decent stability. The reference values of the two candidate materials depending on BTEX components were derived from the average of the 11 samples that were used for verification of the samples' homogeneity. Uncertainty of measurement was combined by uchar that was caused by a characteristic value, $u_{bb}$ that was caused by between-bottle homogeneity, and $u_{stab}$ that was caused by stability, and then combined uncertainty ($u_{PTM}$) was multiplied to the coverage factor (k) derived from the effective degree of freedom from each factor that leads to expanded uncertainty (U) in about 95% of confidence level. The proficiency testing materials developed through this study were supplied to National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) and utilized as an external proficiency testing materials for evaluating analysis capacity of soil agencies with specialty in terms of soil analysis approved by Minister of Environment.

Functionalization of Wool Fiber Using Water-Soluble C-60 (수용성 C-60을 이용한 양모섬유의 기능화)

  • Polynitro fullerenes were synthesized by reaction C-60 in benzen solution with a mixture of NaNO$_2$ and HNO$_3$. Hydrolysis of polynitro fullerenes in aqueous NaOH gave the corresponding polyhydroxylated fullerenes. Sulfonation reaction was carried out in pyridine solution of ClSO$_3$H. Infrared spectra of the resultant fullerene derivatives showed the characteristic IR bands, corresponding to absorptions of O-H, N-O, and SO$_3$Na functions. Electric resistivity and thermal transmittance of wool fiber absorbed with the water-soluble C-60 were investigated. Thermal transmittances of wool fiber were increased with increasing water-soluble C-60 concentrations, but electric conductivity were decreased with raising water-soluble C-60 uptake values.

Interlayer Engineering with Different Host Material Properties in Blue Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

  • We investigated the light-emitting performances of blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes, known as PHOLEDs, by incorporating an N,N'-dicarbazolyl-3,5-benzen interlayer between the hole transporting layer and emitting layer (EML). We found that the effects of the introduced interlayer for triplet exciton confinement and hole/electron balance in the EML were exceptionally dependent on the host materials: 9-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-3,6-bis(triphenylsilyl)-9H-carbazole, 9-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-3,6-ditrityl-9H-carbazole, and 4,4'-bis-triphenylsilanyl-biphenyl. When an appropriate interlayer and host material were combined, the peak external quantum efficiency was greatly enhanced by over 21 times from 0.79% to 17.1%. Studies on the recombination zone using a series of host materials were also conducted.

  • In this study, We made use of inter-electrode capacitively coupled type plasma polymerization apparatus in order to make the organic optical thin films. We adopted in Benzen. Vinyl-Pyridine and Styrene, which have optical function in the organic world and manufactured double later. It is examined optics properties by it respectively. At the middle wave length as 550[nm], the transmittance is double layer smaller than one of single layer. The refractive index with wave length is various from 1.55 to 1.65. Then, it is known that measured results are valid because the extinction coefficient(K) is about $10^{-4}$ for variation of refractive index.

  • The developing agent is the materials which first acts on silver grain and make it into metallic silver by reducing reaction. There are several types in developing agent, and according to Lumiere-Andresen principle, substitution product which has amino or hydroxyl group in benzen nucleus has a developing power, but all reduing substances are not in used. In the developing effect, not only the role of developing agent but also that of assistant materials are important. But in this work, we have studied effect, change by lith developing agent which require high contrast image. We made an developing experiment after having manufactured developing solution used hydroquinone and another developing agents like chlorohydroquinone, pyrocatechol and pyrogallol as developing agent. And we added that did in addition of diethanolamine and ascorbic acid, and then we examined the possibility of use.

  • The thioxanthylium ion ard anthracenium ion have coplanar geometries. The empty $P_z$-orbitals of the positive centers in the cations, therefore, overlap with the ${\pi}$-orbitals of the fused benzen rings. These cations have aromatic characters, obeying Huckel's (4n + 2)${\pi}$ rule. The contribution of the sulfur atom to aromatic stabilization was estimated by comparing the ${^19F}$-nmr chemical shifts of the thioxanthylium ions and anthracenium ions.
