수송실적자료를 이용한 철도교통 수요변화 추정 연구 (Quantifying Rail Travel Demand Changes using Observed Transport Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 철도 투자에 따른 투자이후 수요변화를 계량화하기 위한 조사방법론을 검토하도록 한다. 특히, 유발수요는 전환수요에 비해 조사 및 계량화 방안에 대한 연구가 미흡하므로 유발수요를 중심으로 조사 및 계량화방법들을 검토하여 제시하도록 한다. 이러한 연구 결과는 국내에 철도에 대한 투자이후 단계에서 수요변화를 추정하는 연구가 미흡한 실정이므로 향후 활용도가 높을 것으로 판단된다.

수질개선을 위한 축산계 오염물질 관리방안에 대한 고찰 (Systematic Review on Management of Livestock wastes for Improving Water Quality)

  • In recently, the Korea government is concerning on non-point source pollution management to improve water quality. The objective of this paper is to investigate the improvement measurement for management of livestock wastes. As a result, we find that the National Pollution Source Survey is necessary to establish the unified database system with the Korea Statistics(KOSAT) in order to minimize the difference between relevant data. The investigation for environmental impact of livestock manure should be supported the designation of control areas and establishment of the technical guidelines including target material, monitoring site, standard method, etc. In addition, it should be followed by appropriate nutrient recycling and proper fertilizer usage based on social consultation and cost-benefit analysis.

  • 최근 들어 TCP/IP(인터넷 프로토콜)기반 역추적의 기술적 한계를 이용해 각종 명의(계정)도용 사건을 비롯해 금융피싱 사고들이 부쩍 늘고 있다. 이 때문에 천문학적인 경제 및 사회적 손실이 초래되고 있음은 물론, 사이버상의 각종 행위에 대한 제약과 발전을 가로막고 있다. 이와 같은 난제를 해결하고 기업 혹은 기관의 보안시스템을 참화하기 위해 실시간 역추적 기술이 등장했다. 과거 정보보호시스템의 가치는 비용 절감, 강력한 보안기술 도입 차원의 맹목적 시도, 구축에 따른 구축 난이도에 초점이 맞추어져 있었다. 하지만 최근에는 정보보호 투자성과 평가에 대해 더욱 설득력 있고 과학적인 결과를 원하고 있으며, 단순한 재무적 시스템 효과보다는 종합적인 비즈니스 효과에 대한 ROI 평가를 중요시하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 역추적 기술의 필요성과 배경에 대하여 살펴보고, 흔히 많이 사용하는 방식인 재무 관점의 비용 효과(Cost-Benefit) 기법을 통해 역추적 기술 개발의 투자수익률(ROI)을 분석할 수 있는 기준을 도출해 본다.

  • In railway system, the first step of safety managements is the identification of current safety level. Among many safety indexes, risk concept is the prevailing and most effective one in many developed countries for the safety management. But many requirements such as, accident classification rule, risk levels or broadly acceptable regions, safety cost benefit analysis, VPF, equivalent fatality and failure database are needed for the application of risk concept in railway. Basic requirements for the application of risk concept on railway safety improvements are derived in this study.

  • This paper describes the plans of considering the environmental influences in the preliminary feasibility investigation of railroad work. Because the cost-benefit analysis method about the environmental costs by air pollution and traffic noise is mainly applied in preliminary feasibility investigation, not only the verification in the calculation method of these environmental costs but also the consideration in the environmental costs of the topographical damage and the ecosystem extinction by railroad work is needed. The environment-friendly plans in choosing the locations of the railroad route and station are also suggested, and they include (1) consideration of environment protection area, residential zone, and region with scenic beauty, (2) application of the existing railroad route and station, and (3) railroad route parallel to another traffic facility.

LRB로 내진보강된 교량의 성능검증 실험 (Evaluation Test for the Bridges Retrofitted Seismically with LRB)

  • In this study, an approach that installs seismic isolation bearings was proposed for the seismic retrofit of the existing bridges. The method that replaces all existing bearings with seismic isolators was proposed already. However, in this study, we recommend to utilize the existing bearings for the benefit of safety and cost. According to our proposal, the seismic isolators do not support vertical loads but they just function as the period shifter and the horizontal damper. To verify this approach experimentally, the real scale bearings and isolators for the real highway bridges were designed and fabricated. And the responses of this isolated bridges to the assumed earthquakes were determined by the pseudo dynamic test scheme. The test results were also compared to the responses computed by the well known structural analysis software to check the reliability of the test. From the test results, we found that the retrofitted bridges using the proposed method showed stable performances under earthquakes.

Flow Factor Prediction of Centrifugal Hydraulic Turbine for Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO)

  • The creation of the hydraulic turbine flow factor map will undoubtedly benefit its design by decreasing both the design cycle time and product cost. In this paper, the geometry and flow variables, which effectively affect the flow factor, are proposed, analyzed and determined. These flow variables are further used to create the operating condition maps by using different model approaches categorized into Response Surface Method (RSM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The accuracies of models created by different approaches are compared and the performances of model approaches are analyzed. The influences of chosen variables and the combination of Principle Component Analysis (PCA) and model approaches are also studied. The comparison results between predicted and actual flow factors suggest that two-hidden-layer Feed-forward Neural Network (FFNN), and one.hidden-layer FFNN with PCA has the best performance on forming this mapping, and are accurate sufficiently for hydraulic turbine design.

Feasible Power Exchange between Russia and ROK Power Systems

  • This paper evaluates minimum and maximum power exchange considering economic and technical characteristics between Russia and ROK. First, we evaluate minimum power exchange to assure the economic feasibility by comparison with the total cost and benefit of the interconnected line. For evaluating maximum exchange power, system constraints are considered, which are examined through load flow and dynamic analysis by using the PSS/E program. As a result of these evaluations, we suggest the reasonable range of power exchange between ROK and Russia considering economic and technical constraints with the interconnection scenario that power system interconnection between ROK and Russia will be realized in the year 2010.

효율향상 프로그램의 최적 수요관리목표량 산정 (Estimation of Optimal Target Amount for Efficiency Improvement Program of DSM)

  • In this paper, the proper rebate level can be decided in programs of energy savings by solving an optimization problem with an objective function, which satisfies a maximum value of total energy savings. And then, each prevalence amount is estimated by using virtual Bass model which is a function of rebate level, instead of the conventional Bass model. Finally, by cost/benefit analysis of the estimated prevalence amounts, the priority order is obtained for the investment of each program. The priority order obtained in this way may result the improvement of investment efficiency for DSM(Demand-Side Management) programs and the reasonable plan decision for supply and demand in power system.

  • The development of advanced nuclear fuel cycle(ANFC) technology is essential to meet the national mission for energy independence via a nuclear option in Korea. The action target is to develop environmentally friendly, cost-effective measures to reduce the burden of long term disposal. The proper scenarios regarding potential radionuclide release from a repository have been developed in this study based on the advanced korean Reference Disposal System(A-KRS). To predict safety for the various scenarios, a new assessment code based on the GoldSim software has also been developed. Deterministic analysis indicates an environmental benefit from the ANFC as long as the solid waster from the ANFC act as a proper barrier.
