  • Objective: This study investigates the main effects and interaction effects of mother's reactions to young children's negative emotions on the children's problem behaviors. Methods: A total of 346 mothers with toddlers completed questionnaires, the data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Results: First, mothers' supportive response to young children's negative emotions, including expressive encouragement, emotion-focused reactions, and problem-focused reactions, showed negative relations with the children's internal and external problem behaviors. Mothers' unsupportive response to children's negative emotions, including distress reactions, minimization reactions, and punitive reactions, showed positive relations with the children's internal and external problem behaviors. Second, an interactive effect was observed. For external problem behavior, mothers' lower distress reactions accompanied by higher emotion-focused reactions, lower punitive reactions accompanied by higher emotion-focused reactions, lower distress reactions accompanied by higher problem-focused reactions, and lower punitive reactions accompanied by higher problem-focused reactions all decreased children′s problem behavior. However, for internal problem behavior, only mothers' lower distress reactions accompanied by higher emotion-focused reaction decreased children′s problem behavior. Conclusion/Implication: The main interaction effect on mothers' reaction to young children's negative emotional expression shows that preventive intervention is needed to address problem behavior.

  • Sensitivity analysis of hydrodynamic and reaction parameters in conceptual model reflecting aquifer characteristics of Korea was performed to evaluate the uncertainty in the predicted concentrations. Among the hydrodynamic input parameters, both hydraulic conductivity (Kx) and hydraulic gradient (I) affected transport behaviors of contaminants, and resulted in same convergence concentrations with continuous injections of contaminant. However, longitudinal dispervisity (αL) affected both transport behaviors and the convergence concentrations of contaminants. Compared to the hydrodynamic parameters, growth kinetic and degradation parameters (μm & Kc) more significantly affected both transport behaviors and the convergence concentrations of contaminants, indicating those parameters had higher sensitivity indices causing the uncertainties of model predictions. Considering that the sensitivity indices of both hydrodynamic and reaction parameters were a function of transport distance of groundwater, the parameters with higher sensitivity indices, a priori, need to be investigated using conceptual model reflecting site-specific aquifer characteristics before field investigation. After determining the parameters with higher sensitivity indices, the detail field investigations for the selected hydrodynamic and reaction parameters were warranted to reduce the uncertainties of model predictions.

  • In nanomachining processes, chemical effects are more dominant factor compared with physical deformation. For example, during the nanoscratch on a silicon surface in the atmosphere, micro protuberances are formed due to the mechanochemical reaction between the diamond tip and the surface. On the contrary, in case of chemically stable materials, such as ceramics or glasse, the surface protuberance are not formed. The purpose of this study is to understand effects of the mechanochemical reaction between tip and surfaces on deformation behaviors of hard-brittle materials. Nanometerscale elasoplastic deformation behavior of single crystal silicon (100) was characterized with the surface protuberance phenomena, and compared with that of borosilicate (Pyrex glass 7740).

  • Electrochemical behaviors od chromium electrodeposition from 0.05M chromium (III) sulface complexes in aqueous solutions using sodium formate-glycine mixtures as a complexing agent were studied. In the cathodic current-potential cures, it is found that the intial limiting current of Cr(III) is proportional to square root of scan rate and activiation energy from Arrhenius plot is s obtained 3.05Kcal/mol. From this results, the reaction is considered, Cr3++e longrightarrow Cr2+, which is controlled diffusion of Cr (III). It is also found that the chromium is deposited when the potential reaches to hydrogen evolution potential. Effects of NaSCN as a catalyser in the electrolyte were investigated NCS- anion seems to react strongly by specific absorption at the inner HelmholtZ layer, so that, it is considered to suppress the electrodeposition reaction reaction for chromjum, and also it is considered multipe-bridge such as Cr(III)-NCS---M(M;cathode).

  • Although there have been lots of studies about users' behaviors online, few have explored the mechanism of hostile behaviors. In this sense, this study aims at discovering what may elevate users' hostile behaviors. More specifically, we tried to find the relationship between flaming behavior and perception factors such as perceived risk, anonymity and expected emotional reaction. A survey was conducted to investigate the relationship of the above variables. As a result, all these variables show significant effects on flaming, and information overload are found to act as a moderator. We carefully conclude that flaming in online community can be reduced by preventing information overload each user perceives.

  • Despite technological advance, there have been several troubles in photo reaction injection molding (photo RIM) to produce ultra thin light guide panels (LGPs). In this study, micro leakage problem at cavity edge during photo RIM was investigated numerically. In order to obtain optimal processing conditions, we regulated inlet pressure of injected resin at the cavity edge and figured out micro leakage behaviors. At low inlet pressure (less than 100 Pa), though the micro leakage problem was not occurred, another problem, short shot due to not enough driving force, was appeared More than 1,000 Pa of the inlet pressure, injected resin was rapidly leaked through the micro gap at the cavity edge. Finally, we obtained optimal inlet pressure around 600 ~ 1,000 Pa. At this region, injected resin fully filled the cavity without micro leakage behavior. Based on the present study, further comparative investigations with experimental photo RIM should be performed to find optimal processing conditions for produce ultra thin LGPs.

  • This study investigated the effects of response prompting through 3-steps compliance training to reaction time for child with Asperger's syndrome(AS). The participant was 3 and 8 year-old boy who was diagnostic As with non-compliant, delayed receptive language. Study design was multiple-baseline across behaviors. Target Behaviors were hands-up, following direction, and answering behavior. Dependent variable was latency reaction time during compliance training. This results mean that reaction time was increased raise hands-up behavior, compliance behavior and response ask questions. During intervention, the participant improve the rate on-task behavior as well as reduce off-task behaviors.

  • This paper studied the effects of inclination of piles on pile behaviors. The following are the conclusions of this study. (1) When all the piles are inclined to a same direction, the piles reaction, maximum moment and horizontal displacement of footing increase as the angle of inclination increases. (2) When the piles of each opposite side are inclined symmetrically, the vertical reaction either increases or decreases in proportion to the angle of inclination. In this case, the vertical reaction of inclined piles decreases but the vertical reaction of non-Inclined piles increases.

  • A Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction in a liquid-liquid system under microwave radiation was observed under non-stirring conditions. To control this non-equilibrium reaction, nano-particle, which is active under microwave irradiation, was added to the solution. Color changes of the solution during the oscillatory reaction were found to be influenced by the irradiation power although the droplet temperature was equal to the temperature of surrounding oil. During the irradiation, the period of oscillation became shorter because the reaction rate was faster. It could also be observed that there is possibility to eliminate oscillatory behaviors of the reaction using higher power of microwave. The possibility of controlling non-linear reaction using microwave was shown since microwave can easily travel through oil phase and reach water phase.
