Purpose: Psychological and clinical studies targeting children and adolescents have become increasingly important in recent years as researchers strive to understand better the psychological and physiological development of children and teens. The purpose of the study is to explore significant research ethics on the psychological and clinical study targeting children and adolescents. In addition to these ethical considerations, international and national codes of ethics and regulatory bodies guide ethical research practices with children and adolescents. Research design, data, and methodology: The present study used the qualitative textual collection through investigating the past and current literature review. Numerous prior studies have conducted this research design to obtain the right prior studies. Results: Previous Research has indicated there are four research ethics on the psychological and clinical study targeting children and adolescents. (1) Respect for autonomy, (2) Respect for privacy and confidentiality, (3) Respect for vulnerability, (4). Respect for beneficence. Conclusions: In conclusion, research ethics are essential for protecting children and adolescents when conducting psychological and clinical studies. In the future, research should focus on developing innovative methods to ensure the safety of children and adolescents while still allowing them to participate in research.
This study is based on recent advances in celebrity traits and self-determination researches to address how consumers develop the strong attachment to a "star brand," and the effect of consumer's attachment to star brand on evaluation of product brand sponsored by the star. We use the consumers' need satisfaction and star traits as major causal factors that influence consumer's attachment to a star brand. Specifically this article uses autonomy need, relatedness need, competence need as the dimensions of need satisfaction and expertness, trustworthiness, likeability, and similarity as the key star traits. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of these factors on the consumer's attachment to star brand and how consumer's evaluation of product brand sponsored by star is moderated by the fitness level of between the image of star brand and the image of sponsored product brand. To collect the data, survey was taken in a University located in Incheon. Collected data are analysed using SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0. The results show that when the star brand is perceived as more trustworthy and likeable, and satisfies autonomy need and relatedness need, the consumer is more likely to become strongly attached to him or her. The hypothesis that consumer's attachment to star brand will have the positive influence on the evaluation of product brand sponsored by star is supported. And hypothesis that consumer's attitude to a sponsored product brand is moderated by the fitness level of between the image of star brand and the image of sponsored product brand is also supported. The empirical results imply that star brand to which consumers are attached may have the significant positive impact on the consumers' evaluation process of endorsed product brand and purchase behavior, and that marketers should consider need dimensions which target consumers want to satisfy and the fitness level of between the image of star brand being considered as endorser and the image of product brand.
This study investigates the link between music integration in the lives of adults in their twenties and their school music experiences. Ten individuals in their twenties were interviewed to explore their experiences based on the self-determination theory's fundamental psychological needs (autonomy, competence, and relatedness). Participants were categorized into an active music engagement group (5 individuals) and an inactive group (5 individuals) for individual interviews. Transcripts were analyzed following the five steps of grounded theory data analysis technique. Results indicated a strong connection between music activities during school years and current motivation for music integration, associated with the fulfillment of psychological needs outlined in the self-determination theory. Particularly, this study identified the instructional methods, school music activities, and performance evaluations as closely related to autonomy, competence, and relatedness. It offers a comprehensive analysis of how experiences in these areas during school music activities correlate with values and motivations for music integration in adulthood. Additionally, the study suggests ways to promote the voluntary incorporation of music into life through positive experiences of autonomy, competence, and relatedness in music activities.

We propose a empirically analyzed the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior, empowerment and job satisfaction of 546 office workers in general companies in Seoul city using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 21.0. The results of this study were as follows: First, participatory behavior positively influenced self-determination in the relationship between empowerment and organizational citizenship behavior. Second, altruism had a positive effect on job satisfaction in the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and job satisfaction. Third, looking at the aspect of direct and indirect effects on job satisfaction, it was noticeable that the altruism of organizational citizenship behavior had a higher direct effect, and that participatory behavior had a higher figure of the indirect effect. On the other hand, self-determination and influence/meaning, which are factors of empowerment, showed a higher figure than organizational citizenship behavior. Therefore, it is noticeable that empowerment is the most important factor in terms of affecting job satisfaction. that is, continuous monitoring of the effectiveness of the empowerment granted to members and improvement of the meaning and self-determination of the role at the workplace through training will increase the autonomy and it will contribute to the activation of the organization.
This qualitative study investigated how a music therapy program was experienced by juvenile offenders of school violence who were under a conditional suspension of indictment. Six adolescents participated in 12 consecutive weeks of group music therapy sessions, and were interviewed individually based on open-ended questions addressing key constructs of self-determination theory, which are autonomy, competence and relatedness. Using this framework, data was deductively analyzed using a modified grounded theory. The analysis also investigated how such impact of music therapy transferred or expanded to their everyday life. The analysis revealed that the properties of autonomy included making choices of songs and instruments, deciding how to play, and expressing opinions about music. Competence was associated with developing skills on musical instruments, creating own music, concentrating on their own project, and demonstrating their abilities. Relatedness were related to collaborating, exchanging opinions, and playing a part in musical projects. In addition, it was found that they also experienced shifts in consciousness and behavior, expanded self-awareness, and mutual exchange and group support. Lastly, it was revealed that the positive emotional and behavioral changes they experienced in music also appeared in their school life.
Christian communities have long sought to find what type of moral judgment is appropriate and what the Christian behavior is, by taking the church's ethical norms and behavior patterns as objects of reflection. In the same context, Christian education also tried to base the psychological rationalism of J. Piaget and L. Kohlberg, but the reason-centered structural development theory was not the answer. In fact, the structural development theory, which emphasized autonomy while excluding emotions from the moral judgment process, over-emphasizing cognition or reason, eventually led to moral relativism, unlike what was intended. In addition, it was criticized for not being able to adequately elucidate the gap between human moral reasoning and behavior, and for attempting to interpret morality excessively within the context of social culture. Recently, these limitations of structural developmental theory have been reinterpreted by neuroethics, especially moral psychology theories, which claim that moral judgment ability is physically wired in the brain and relies heavily on networks between cortical and limbic system. The purpose of this paper is to review some of the newly emerged research themes of neuroethics, and then to discuss two main theories that explain morality in the perspective of neuroethics and the implications that Christian education should pay attention to.
This study examines the effects of transformational leadership on helping behavior for the secretary workers. We also demonstrate comprehensively the moderating effects of job resources(LMX) and job demands(utilization of mobile devices after work) on the relationship between transformational leadership and helping behavior. The results of this study targeted 140 incumbent secretaries are as follows: First, transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on the helping behaviors of members. Second, the interaction effect of LMX(synergistic effect) was verified in the positive relationship between transformational leadership and helping behavior. Finally, interaction effects of utilization of mobile devices after work(buffering effect) were confirmed in the relationship between transformational leadership and helping behavior. The results of this study are that transformational leadership of middle managers is important to strengthen worker's helping behavior, but it is also important to understand the contextual factors such as social support(LMX) and work environment(utilization of mobile devices after work) that affect the will and autonomy of members in accepting leadership. Finally, we suggest the theoretical and practical implications of this study, present limitations and future research directions.
This study aims to examine the mediating effects of ethical leadership and the moderating effects of organizational culture in relation to the impact of public service motivation on innovative behavior by public officials. This research utilizes data from the 2021 Public Employee Perception Survey conducted to public officials by the Korea Institute of Public Administration. Public service motivation had a positive effect on innovative behavior and ethical leadership, while ethical leadership had a positive effect on innovative behavior. In addition, ethical leadership mediated the relationship between public service motivation and innovative behavior. Under organizational culture, hierarchical and innovative cultures exhibited moderating effects. The policy and practical implications of these findings are as follows. First, it is important to build ethical leadership in order to retain the national competitiveness of public officials and encourage innovative behaviors that can adapt to changes at public organizations. Second, the competition rate for public service examinations has fallen recently. This may be interpreted as an unfavorable perception of public service bureaucracy among the MZ generation. Consequently, in line with the changing times, the organizations of public officials must adopt to a future-oriented, innovative culture. Third, it is necessary to explore alternative methods for developing an innovative culture, such as giving greater flexibility and autonomy through transfer of authority to public officials who address the public directly.
Smokers keep smoking despite knowing that tobacco claims many lives, including their own and others'. What makes it hard for them to quit smoking nonetheless? Tobacco companies insist that smokers choose to smoke, according to their right to self-determination. Moreover, they insist that with motivation and willpower to quit smoking, smokers can easily stop smoking. Against this backdrop, this paper aims to discuss the addictive disease called tobacco use disorder, with an assessment of the addictiveness of tobacco and the reasons why smoking cessation is challenging, based on neuroscientific research. Nicotine that enters the body via smoking is rapidly transmitted to the central nervous system and causes various effects, including an arousal response. The changes in the nicotine receptors in the brain due to continuous smoking lead to addiction symptoms such as tolerance, craving, and withdrawal. Compared with other addictive substances, including alcohol and opioids, tobacco is more likely to cause dependence in smokers, and smokers are less likely to recover from their dependence. Moreover, the thinning of the cerebral cortex and the decrease in cognitive functions that occur with aging accelerate with smoking. Such changes occur in the structure and functions of the brain in proportion to the amount and period of smoking. In particular, abnormalities in the neural circuits that control cognition and decision-making cause loss of the ability to exert self-control and autonomy. This initiates nicotine dependence and the continuation of addictive behaviors. Therefore, smoking is considered to be a behavior that is repeated due to dependence on an addictive substance, nicotine, instead of one's choice by free will.
The purpose of this study is to develop the scale which measure father's child rearing behaviors and to identify the demographic variables related. The subjects of this study are 1054 primary school children's fathers in Busan. Questionnaires anr distributed in order to collect data. The dta were analyzed by t-test, F-test, Pearson's ${\gamma}$, Duncan's Multiple Range test, factor analysis and Cronbach's ${\alpah}$ using the SPSS computer program. The main results were as follows ; 1) To make the scale, primary the men, standard deviation, relative frequency distribution of the each items, and Cronbach's were computed. As the result, 36 item were selected in father's child rearing behaviors. Secondarily, the procedure of factor analysis was applied. Consequently, 5 subscales 29 items were selected. Total variance of 5 subscals was 87.5%. Reliability of scales was computed by Cronbach's ${\alpah}$ and the level was relatively considered satisfactory. Hence, subscales named runs and follow ; Father's Child Rearing Behaviors Scale consists of factor I- 'encouragement', factor II-'autonomy', factor III-'affection', factor IV-'achievement', fctor V-'interest'. 2) Practically, to applicate the scale, difference test were conducted according to sex of the children, jobs of the parents, ages of parents, level of the parent education and SES in father's child rearing behavior. As the result, there were variously differences according to demographic variables.
