The purpose of this study is to help female office workers in relieving their stress in rapidly changing modern society and maintaining a healthy and beautiful life by analyzing the complex effects of alternative beauty therapy on stress relaxation targeting 50 female office workers in their 30s to 40s, usually showing a high stress index due to their work. Aroma therapy and dry relax massage were carried out for 15 minutes as a beauty therapy, and stress index of the subjects was confirmed through survey before performing the beauty therapy. The experiment was conducted once a week for four weeks, and the cortisol concentration in saliva was analyzed for the outcome measurement. As a result, average stress index was 3.97 which showed a high value, and the cortisol concentration of the subjects after the experiment decreased significantly (p<0.05), and especially subjects who were married and had caregiving responsibility showed more changes in their cortisol concentration. The above result shows that dry relax massage using aroma is highly effective for mind and body relaxation of women in their 30s to 40s who are significantly stressed. If such beauty measures are applied properly, it is judged to be helpful for managing the stress.

The present study was performed to analyze the life style and eating behavior of stroke patients and to find the risk factors related to stroke incidence in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province, Korea. The case subjects (n=100) were selected from newly diagnosed stroke patients at Kyungpook National University Hospital. The control subjects (n=150) were selected from community inhabitants who did not have stroke history and were sex and age-matched with the case subjects. The survey was conducted by individual interviews using questionnaires on the general characteristics, life-style, eating behavior, food intake frequency and food preference. The high body mass index, preexisting diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, stroke family history, smoking, overeating habit and high preference for sweet, greasy and meat foods appeared to be the risk factors for stroke incidence. On the other hand, the results suggest that life style of regular exercise and nonsmoking, food habits of green tea drinking and enough chewing, preference for Korean meal type, high intake frequency for legumes, vegetables, mushrooms, seaweeds, fishes and shell fishes, soy milk and green tea might be the protective factors for the stroke. Therefore, maintenance of healthy weight, the prevention and management of the deteriorative chronic diseases, change of life style and improvement of eating behaviors are considered to be important for stroke prevention.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate vegetable intakes according to body mass index (BMI) of adolescents. For this, 400 middle and high school adolescents living in Buyeogun, Chungnam were classified into underweight group, healthy weight group, and overweight group according to BMI, after which eating habits, daily intake levels of vegetables, perception of vegetables, and vegetable-related eating habits were compared and analyzed. As the reason for skipping breakfast, 'Lack of time (44.3%)' was the most frequently cited. In the case of unbalanced food intakes, the underweight group and overweight group showed the highest response for 'grain' while the healthy weight group showed the highest response for 'vegetables' with significant differences (P<0.001). Daily intakes of one serving size of vegetables was 3.3 in the underweight group, 3.8 servings in the healthy weight group, and 3.8 servings in the overweight group, but there was no significant difference. However, frequency of vegetable intake at lunch was once in the underweight group, which was significantly lower than 1.3 servings in the healthy weight group and 1.4 servings in the overweight group (P<0.05). Regarding perception of vegetables, perception of 'Vegetable consumption helps to get beautiful skin' (P<0.01) and 'I eat vegetables or don't eat depending on a cooking method' (P<0.05) were significantly higher in the underweight group. In the evaluation of vegetables-related eating habits, preference for vegetables in the underweight group was lower than that in the healthy weight and overweight groups (P<0.05). Summarizing the above results, vegetable intake by adolescents was generally low, and the frequency of vegetable intake at lunch as well as preference for vegetables were significantly lower in the underweight group. Studies to identify the relationships between adolescent body types and vegetable intakes are required.

Due to medical and economic development, various treatment methods are being studied to restore or maintain beautiful and healthy teeth. In particular, interest in aesthetic treatment procedures such as prosthetic treatment and whitening to restore tooth loss is increasing. One of the important things in the field of prosthetics and esthetic treatment is to determine the correct color of teeth because harmony with natural teeth is an important factor in determining the perfection of esthetic prostheses. This study is about the development of a colorimetry application for tooth colorimetry using a smartphone camera. The colorimetry application UI was designed, the colorimetry algorithm was derived and the application was implemented, and the validity of the application was verified through testing the implemented application.
The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of skin pressure by wearing all-in-one on the rhythm of body temperature such as skin and rectal temperature which play a crucial role in the nocturnal rhythm. Five healthy female were participated in the study as subjects. The experimental clothing was an all-in-one, one of the foundation, which is worn for shaping the body. The total experimental periods were 5 days. On the 1st day, subjects did not wear the all-in-one (None), and they wore it for about 12 hours per day from 2nd to 5th day (Wearing1~4). Skin and rectal temperature were measured during the entire experimental days to figure out the rhythm of body temperature during sleep. When subjects wore the all-in-one, the gradients of the forearm and calf skin temperature at the sleep onset were significantly smaller than "None". It indicated that the rise of extremities' skin temperature was low on the "Wearing1~4". The decline of rectal temperature in "Wearing 1~4" was smaller than "None". Therefore, the skin pressure by all-in-one may cause the temperature of extremities' skin and rectum to change, resulting the fluctuation of the circadian rhythm, finally it could have effects on the rhythm of sleep.
The present study examined the reproductive factors and food intake pattern which influence on the breast cancer risk in Daegu${\cdot}$Gyungbuk area. The case subjects were 103 patients newly diagnosed as breast cancer at Kyungpook National University Hospital. The control subjects were 159 healthy women selected by frequency matching of age and menopausal status in the same community. The survey was conducted by individual interviews using questionnaires which include general and reproductive characteristics, dietary habits, and food frequency. The odds ratios were calculated by using unconditional logistic regression after adjusting for confounding variables. The mean age of the subjects was 50 yrs, and mean body mass index was significantly high in the patient group than in the control. The patient group had a significantly higher familial history of breast cancer and a significantly shorter breast-feeding period compared to the control group. It has been found no significant relationship between extrinsic hormone use such as oral contraceptives or estrogen replacement therapy and breast cancer risk. In regard of food habits, a high preference for the cooking method of steaming rather than frying, panbroiling or roasting was significantly associated with lower relative risk of breast cancer. The higher intake frequencies of fruits for all subjects, and seaweeds only for postmenopausal subjects were related with a significantly lower relative risk of breast cancer. The results of the study suggest that the possible risk factors for the breast cancer occurrence include high BMI, family history, less breast feeding experience, preference for the cooking method of frying, and less consumption of fruits and seaweeds. This study provides an useful data for nutrition education to prevent breast cancer for the residents in Daegu${\cdot}$Gyungbuk area.
This study was performed to evaluate the effect of nutrient intake levels on the relative risk of breast cancer in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk area. The case subjects were 103 patients newly diagnosed as breast cancer at Kyungpook National University Hospital. The control subjects were 159 healthy women without breast cancer-related disease in the same community selected by frequency matching of age and menopausal status. The survey was administered by individual interviews by trained dietitians using semiquantitative food frequency questionnaires. The odds ratios were determined by using unconditional logistic regression after adjusting for the confounding factors found in the analysis of general characteristics of the subjects. In overall, it has been found that high consumptions of energy and carbohydrates significantly raised the relative risk of breast cancer, and that high intakes of total fat, plant fat, dietary fiber, all kinds of fatty acids, vitamin E and calcium significantly lowered the risk of breast cancer. The results of the study suggest that the possible protective factors to the breast cancer risk include a higher intakes of total fat, especially plant fat, dietary fiber, and micronutrients such as vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. On the other hand, high intakes of energy and carbohydrate appeared to be the risk factors.
The need to steadily manage healthy hair for a beautiful hairstyle is emerging, and it is time to develop hair cosmetics using natural antioxidants that are harmless to the human body according to the needs of the times. Therefore Max. Load, Max. Stress, Max. Elongation, and breakage on the hair coated with the extract of Ginkgo biloba L. According to the Break Load, Break Stress, Break Elongation, Max. Various convergence property experiments such as modulus and Tangential modulus values were conducted. As a result of research, the hairs coated with Ginkgo biloba extract had an overall increase in intrinsic properties including tensile strength compared to the control group. Through this study, we intend to study the potential of Ginkgo biloba L. as a useful material for hair cosmetics such as permanent wave preparations as well as health supplements and medicines that have been released, and we expect that it will be provided as useful research data for the subsequent development of various hair cosmetics.

This study found the possibility of using cemeteries within the locality as field trip destination. A comparison between Korea and the United States of America's active progress has derived the difference and the implications. Therefore, this article found that the cemetery has sufficient resources based on experience-learning place within the community. Therefore, when the active educational program was developed; it gained more abundant resources for education, as well as provided more different educational opportunities for the students than now. As the result of comparison, the reason why the educational program is actively progressing in the American cemeteries is that a beautiful and fresh environment has been built up such as a park or garden in a cemetery and has been preserved as a healthy forest ecosystem. Furthermore, it is because they actively used the cemetery within a community as the subject. If our cemetery can be renovated and the funeral culture can be changed to break down the image of an avoidable unpleasant facility, it would play a role as a field for learning experience.
The purpose of this study was to examine the consumption behaviors regarding environment-friendly agricultural products by food-related lifestyles of housewives. The data were collected from 298 housewives living in Yeungnam region through a self-administered questionnaire during April, 2010. Frequencies, Cronbach's $\alpha$, factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test and chi-square test were conducted by SPSS Windows. The results obtained from this study were as follows. Lifestyles were categorized into five factors by factor analysis: healthy-seeking type, popularity-seeking type, convenience-seeking type, safety-seeking type and taste-seeking type. The respondents belonged to one of three groups by cluster analysis: popularity-seeking group, convenience-seeking group, and wellbeing-seeking group. The main reason given for purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products was safety. The respondents were satisfied with the safety of environment-friendly agricultural products the most. Many respondents purchased environment-friendly agricultural products at large discount markets, and received information about them from mass media. There were significant differences among three groups in the place of purchase environment-friendly agricultural products, information source for environment-friendly agricultural products, most important factor when purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products, the level of satisfaction with environment-friendly agricultural products and the purchase rate of environment-friendly agricultural products among the monthly food expenses.
