A T-shaped microstripline -fed printed slot antenna is anlayzed by using the transmission line model(TLM) in this paper. Microstrip-slotline junction is modeled by employing a transformer and the transformer turn ratio is derived empirically. The method is extended to the case of $1\times2,l\times4$array antennas. Return loss results obtained by using the transmission line model. The maximum measured results and demonstrated the usefulness of the transmission line model. The maximum bandwidths of a single antenna, $1\times2,l\times4$ array antennas are 28.5%, 47.8%, and 50.9%, respectively, for the VSWR$\leq2$. The gain of $1\times4$ array antenna is 7.97dBi and the beamwidth is about $27^{\circ}$.

In this paper, we suggested a CPW-fed UWB antenna with uni-planar sectoral structure. The area where radiation device face ground is designed to have the shape of tapered slot based on exponential function. We modified a rectangular bow-tie dipole structure antenna and thus formed a multi-resonant mode. From this, we expanded the impedance bandwidth and made a feature satisfying VSWR of less than 2 between $3.1\sim10.6GHz$. The test result showed that the return loss less than -10 dB was met in the full-band UWB system and maximum gain of $0.9\sim3.1dB$ was made with the half-power beamwidth of $40.1\sim89.9^{\circ}$ on XY plane(Theta, $Phi=90^{\circ}$) and the full band. By using CPW-fed structure with no ground on the back of the substrate, the suggested antenna is easy to design and its miniaturization is also possible.

In this paper, we propose a reconfigurable antenna which operates as a disk-loaded dipole antenna and a folded dipole antenna alternatively using RF on/off switches. The antenna can change its effective length to achieve dual-band operation; operates as the folded dipole antenna for stepping up the radiation resistance in low frequency band of $20{\sim}300$ MHz, and as the disk-loaded dipole antenna for an omni-directional radiation pattern (horizontal plane) and a donut-shaped radiation pattern (vertical plane) in high frequency band of $300{\sim}1.3$ GHz. In the low band, the proposed antenna shows higher gain than a conventional dipole antenna with a reduced antenna size. In the high band, the antenna maintains a broad beamwidth of about $80^{\circ}$, thus the antenna can be applicable to antennas for direction finding applications.
Low-aberration holographic scanners that eliminate the need for lenses and mirrors promise to greatly reduce the cost of laser printers and image scanners. In this study, a holographic optical element that can simultaneously scan and focus a laser beam is designed with analytic ray tracing method. An analytic and experimental work is conducted in which we investigated the hologram structure and hologon configuration for linear aberration-free scanning. For a prototype scanner, a He-Ne laser is used to manufacture and reconstruct the hologram, and the measured bow is about $\pm$133$\mu\textrm{m}$ and spot size(half-intensity beamwidth) in under 100$\mu\textrm{m}$ for a 300 mm scan length without using a correcting lens or mirror. The diffraction efficiency is about 55$\pm$5%, which is acceptably flat. The experimentally measured results agrees with the computed values. From this fact, we can conclude that the computed results using ray tracing method are practical and useful values, and have a potential for use in high resolution laser printers.
Characteristics of sleeve-gun arrays installed on the R/V Onnuri were analyzed and compared with survey data. In the case of cluster array, the beam width in the frequency range up to 814Hz is constant as $179.5^{\circ}$, and rapidly narrows in the frequency range of 814-1631Hz. However, in the case of long and wide arrays, as the frequency increases, the beamwidth decreases. The optimal frequency is 69Hz. the main lobe of vertical inclination has its maximum amplitude at phase angle $0^{\circ}$. The optimal frequency of cluster array which produces little side lobe is less than 1631Hz, and those of long and wide arrays are less than 108Hz. As a result, the cluster array produces a good source for high-resolution seismic survey, while the long and wide arrays are suitable for the survey of deep structures. The final high-resolution seismic section with cluster array was compared with that of long and wide arrays.

A series-fed microstrip array antenna of beamwidth $10^{\circ}$, squint angle $80^{\circ}$ and SLL -15 dB below is designed. Series-fed arrays are formed by interconnecting all the elements by high-impedance transmission lines and feeding the power at the first element and it is a traveling-wave antenna which is terminated with a matched load. Radiation patterns and impedance matching of the antenna are analyzed by Ensemble 4.0, which is a popular software package for designing printed antennas and arrays. The squint angle of beam can be controlled by the spacing between the elements. The major advantages of series-fed array antennas are that feed arangement is compact and the losses associated with the feeding network are less than those of a corporate feed type. The antennas are fabricated on the RT/Duroid Laminates of 62 mil thickness. The experimental results are very close to the specifications to be designed.

An air-to-ground guidance missile aimed to hit a main battle tank(MBT) should detect a ground moving target and estimate the target position to guide. In this paper, we detect a front ground moving target by using FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) and estimate the position by forward-looking SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) via scanning certain front ground section by steering a beam with narrow beamwidth left to right mechanically. Also, by MLE(Maximum Likelihood Estimation), degree of how fast the target approach or recede from the radar can be figured out from the estimated radial velocity of the moving target. Subsequently, we generate a radar image via corrected matched filter from phase history including the radial velocity.

In this paper, a compact doppler sensor with oscillator type active antenna operating at 2.4GHz frequency band is proposed to measure the distance to a moving object. The oscillation frequency is shifted depending on approaching of the object, and a detection circuit discriminates the frequency deviation. The active antenna has been designed and simulated. The prototype fabricated has a small circular disk type of diameter 30mm and height 4.2mm. As for antenna performance, broadside radiation pattern with beamwidth of $120^{\circ}$ and oscillation frequency of 2.35GHz has been measured. Test results as a range sensor shows that signal voltage of about 240mV has been obtained for conducting plate moving 1 meter away from the sensor. And, signal voltage has been linearly increased to the ground from 5m height by free-falling the sensor.

In this paper, a two-dimensional slotline coupling structure is proposed for the planar active phased array antenna system with scanning the beam by coupled oscillators without phase shifters. The operating characteristics are analyzed and experimentally demonstrated. The proposed two-dimensional slotline coupling structure consists of $|{=}|$-type slotline in the ground plane for the coupling of E-plane and H-plane. From the simulation results of coupling strength with the variation of width, length and the number of slotlines, the optimal coupling structure is proposed and applied to $2{\times}5$ elements of planear phased array antenna. The experimental results show that the beamwidth of E-plane and H-pland are $42^{\circ}$ and $15^{\circ}$, respectivly, and the scanning range is from $-20^{\circ}$ to $15^{\circ}$ from the broadside. Therefore, it is shown the two-dimensional slotline coupling structure for oscillator-type active phased array antenna can be applied to the planar phased array antenna system.
A parametric array is a nonlinear phenomenon that generates a narrow beam of low-frequency sound using the nonlinearity of the medium. The low-frequency sound so generated has a low sound pressure compared with that of sound generated directly. Consequently, a transducer that can generate a primary wave with high directivity and level is required. This study designed, fabricated, and evaluated a multi-resonance transducer as a parametric array source. The designs of the unit transducers and array transducer were based on an analysis model. The design process was repeated to fabricate the optimum transducer. The fabricated transducer array can generate a 189 dB, 190 dB primary wave level at 6.3 m and a 134 dB difference frequency wave using the parametric array phenomenon. The difference frequency wave has a frequency of 15 kHz and high directivity with an $8^{\circ}$ half power beam width in a $12{\times}18{\times}10m$ water tank.
