The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual usefulness and consciousness of bathrooms and to clarify the preference of bathroom plans by apartments dwellers in Jeonju City. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires and 343 apartments dwellers were used for this study. The major results are as follows. The bathroom types were mostly unit bathrooms and were not suited with using bathrooms of apartments dwellers. The unit type of bathroom was not comfortable for them and most of them were not satisfied with their bathrooms. They usually used family bathroom instead of private bathroom. They wanted a separate space for different facilities such as a bathtub and toilet, a dressing room, and a fixed clothes chest. Generally apartments dwellers did not prefer unit bathrooms, prefering instead the bathroom plan with separate rooms for the bathroom and toilet, with space for dressing. This study suggests that further studies be conducted on apartments dwellers in other big, small and medium-sized cities. Also, it is necessary to offer bathroom plans which take the size of houses and bathrooms, and the number of bathrooms into account and to survey housing consumers' satisfaction of those bathroom plans.

The purpose of this study is to provide a basic study for a desirable bathroom planning of the 30s pyung apartment. The survey was performed to the housewives of 30s pyung apartments in Seoul. The purpose of the survey was to examine the dweller's consciousness, satisfaction, and demands on bathroom in 30s pyung apartments, and to give useful information on bathroom planning of 30s pyung apartment. Some details shoul be considered in bathroom planning of 30s pyung spartments. It seems that the bathrooms of bath unit and extra sink and a toilet stool are the most approriate type in 30s pyung apartment among present bathroom types. It is suitable that the bathroom is close to bedroom and the bathroom door faces the wall. There is much meed for a showercurtain and more comfortable toilet stool. It is necessary to reduce the noise of toilet stool and reinforce the soundproofing fuction in bathroom. And the function of ventilation, drainage, and insulation should be improved for better bathroom enivronment. The implications of this findings for apartment bathroom planning and future research were discussed.

The bathroom types were mostly unit bathrooms and were not suited with using bathrooms of college students. The college students usually used unit bathrooms individually for stool and showering. The unit type of bathroom was not comfortable for them and, therefore, most of them were not satisfied with their bathrooms. They wanted a separate space for different facilities such as a bathtub and toilet, a dressing room, and a fixed clothes chest. Generally the college students did not prefer unit bathrooms, but the bathroom plan with separate rooms for the bathroom and toilet, with space for dressing. This study suggests that further studies be conducted on college students in other big, small and medium-sized cities. Also, it is necessary to offer bathroom plans which take the size of houses and bathrooms, and the number of bathrooms into account and to survey housing consumers' satisfaction of those bathroom plans.

The oh purpose of this study is to provide a basic study for a desirable bathroom planning of the 30s pyung apartments. The data are 2053 case of the bathroom plan of the 30s pyung apartments constructed in Seoul and the new town between 1971-2004. In this stud, a settlement process and trend of the two bathroom plan in the 30s pyung apartments are examined. The findings were as follows: 1) The introduction of the two bathroom from 1970 to 1980. 2) The introduction of the two bathroom from 1990 to 2000. For the better planning of the bathroom, factors like family size, life cycle, and manner of bathroom use should be analyzed in the future studies. The analysis of the dweller's consciousness, satisfaction, and the demands on the bathroom in 30s pyung apartments, and to give useful information on the bathroom of 30s pyung apartments.

The purpose of this study was to find out the residents' consciousness of the unit plan on condominium apartment and to contribute to develop a condominium apartment unit plan in Daejeon City. This research was performed by a questionnaire survey method, 464 data was collected from apartment residents lived in about $85\;m^2$ unit with 3 rooms and the apartments was limited to the complexes within 1-4 years of the length of building at Yuseong-gu and Seo-gu. By analyzing those data, findings are as follows: 1) Residents thought living room, kitchen and bathroom were importment space in a unit plan. They needed a storage function in an entrance and a intermediate room, and Anbang(mater bedroom) so did. 2) L-DK plan type was very popular and the type of front DK with L on the floor plan was preferred. This was unique results. 3) Sub-kitchen was needed for a refrigerator of Kimchi, the location of it was related to a main kitchen and a utility. the third room was needed for library, home office and storage space. 3) Bath-tub in An-bang and showe-booth in public bathroom was preferred. This was same to the popular trend of Korean condominium apartment. 4) The enlargment remodeling of balcony was showed livingroom balcony or personal bedrooms at the time of occupancy. They needed the balcony near a kitchen or an utility to equip a storage facility. Additionally, residents were preferred to their taste rather than a choice of interior concept package services.
