A Suggestion for the Size-designation for Obese Middle-aged Women's Swimsuits (중년 비만여성을 위한 수영복 치수규격 제안)

  • This study helps out-size consumers purchase swimsuits and improves fitness by classifying the torso of middle-aged obese women; in addition, it creates a size system based on each size interval for obese types. The criteria for subjects in this study were over 25kg/$m^2$ of the BMI, over 85cm of waist, and over 95cm of bust; 199 females were surveyed. Three torso types were categorized by a cluster analysis into X type (the vertical size of hip girth was the biggest of the three and the waist was slender), H-O type (larger than other groups in bust girth with more fat above the circumstance of the abdomen), and Y type (the upper half of body development type and lower body fatness were between those of type X and those of type H-O). As a consequence of size system establishment according to obesity types, the basic body sizes and reference body sizes were different according to types even in commonly-appeared size names at sections of respective types. The research findings show the necessity to understand obesity types according to bust girth and hip girth sizes that represent basic sizes as well as to design patterns in consideration of the characteristics of obese body shapes when swimsuits are designed for obese groups. The findings can be used as basic data to decide the desirable output of production according to respective body types.

A Basic Study on the Koreanness of Contemporary Korean Landscape Architecture (한국 현대 조경의 한국성 논의를 위한 기초 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to mate a basic foundation for the discourse of Koreanness of contemporary Korean landscape architecture by way of searching the conceptual definitions of Koreanness through analysis of Koreanness discourses. The results are that discourses of Koreanness are to be classified in aesthetics type, spatial-temporal type, and cultural type. Aesthetics type is understood as style in terms of formal and design representation planning principles of spatial composition and immanence in terms of philosophy. Spatial-temporal type is understood as contemporaneity. This is classified as the concept of connoting of tradition, and separating and keeping a distance from tradition. Cultural type is prescribed as cultural identity. This is classified as unity, generality and individuality. The intension of Koreanness of these types is represented as an aspect changing and shifting from one regulation to another regulation. First, in the concerns of substantial archetypes like Korean original form, decorative element, spatial composition aesthetic perception and philosophy, Koreanness shifts to the point of view of contemporaniety which is created and defined in history. Second, Koreanness as contemporaniety shows a trend of shifting the point of view which is to be found through the reconsideration on modem history and modernism. Third, Koreanness defined as cultural identity shows a trend to emphasize the differences in other cultures and includes all the modem cultural agents. The number of views understood as individuality and denial are small but provide important points. Programmatic definition of Koreanness is not suitable. This basic study uses a stipulative or operational definition of Koreanness in many ways such as spatial and regional identity. Koreanness study for Korean contemporary landscape architecture requires a systematic understanding of modernity and colonization relating to identity. Also, it is needed to elaborate on the discourse to divide the meaning of a concept of identity.

Development of hybrid artificial reef and basic structural performance tests (복합형 인공어초의 개발 및 구조 성능 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a new type of hybrid artificial reef that can solve the problems of construction, installation and operation of existing concrete type and steel type artificial reef, and to evaluate basic structural performance through static loading test. For this purpose, we evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of concrete type and steel type artificial reef in literature, and developed a new type of hybrid artificial reef which can effectively overcome the problems of each artificial reefs while maintaining the advantages of two artificial reefs as an alternative respectively. In order to evaluate the merits of the proposed hybrid artificial reef, it was confirmed that the possibility of securing the convenience of the proposed hybrid artificial reef in the field and the possibility of securing the desired advantages were confirmed. Also, the static loading test was performed to evaluate the basic structural performance of the artificial reef. Through the above study, it was confirmed that the developed hybrid artificial reef exhibited proper structural performance while securing easiness of making and assemble.mm) can be predicted to have a low value up to 60% of the strength of cylinders without reinforcement.

  • In this article, we present a new notion called "extended metric spaces of type (φ, ρ)" as a generalization of extended b-metric spaces. Also, we establish a fixed point result of a Reich-type contraction on an extended metric space of type (φ, ρ). We also provide several examples to demonstrate the significance of the established results.

  • 3,4-Dihydroquinazoline 1 as T-type calcium channel blocker was in vivo evaluated against A549 xenograft in BALB/c-nu Slc mice, which exhibited 54% tumor growth inhibition through oral administration of 8 mg/kg of body weight and was slightly less active than doxorubicin (68%). In addition, this compound was also profiled for its acute toxicity to ICR mice to afford oral $LD_{50}$ value of 1,038 mg/kg of body weight.

  • Modular construction technique is an adaptation of factory-based mass production concept in ordinary manufacturing industries to construction industry and it assumes that panels, units, etc. are fabricated in factories and assembled in construction sites. Given its structural limitations, modular construction technique is primarily used in low-story buildings whose maximum height is usually five stories, but researchers are actively studying possible adaptation of modular construction technique to high-rise building designs these days as in the case of infill-type modular construction design. Infill-type modular construction technique, most frequently used in high-rise building construction projects, completes frame construction first in reinforced concrete structures and fills unit modules in such structures. However, infill-type modular construction technique leads to longer construction schedule accompanying increase in construction cost, cost overrun due to additional of temporary work, and possible damage to units in the wake of facility construction. Accordingly, this study is performed as a basic study for the development of bottom-up infill-type modular construction technique intended to construct structural frames and fill in units sequentially in a bid to address such drawbacks of current infill-type modular construction technique.

A Study on Cup Size of Brassiere and Classification of Breast Type according to Breast Circumference and Volume (유방원주와 볼륨에 따른 브래지어 컵 치수 및 유방유형 분류에 관한 연구)

  • To provide the basic data to manufacture superior brassiere, this study was analyzed the evaluation of wear sensation of brassiere and the satisfaction of breast type by breast circumference and volume of 182 twenties-aged women. The results were as follows: First, it was reliable to set up the cup size of brassiere by using the breast circumference. Hemispherical breast was the same as cone-shaped breast in breast classification by breast circumference and volume. Second, the breast sizes were able to classify into under 200cc, 200~300cc, 300~400cc, and over 400cc by volume, but measuring the volume was more difficult than measuring the breast circumference. Last, there were correlations between breast circumference and breast volume by breast type. And there were differences on improvement, brassiere size, and the satisfaction of breast type by breast circumference and volume. This results will give basic informations for brassiere design that reflects breast type according to breast circumference and volume for functional brassiere.

Propositions and Judgments in the Intuitionistic Type Theory (직관주의적 유형론에서의 명제와 판단)

  • We explain some basic elements of Martin-L$\ddot{o}$f's type theory and examine the distinction between propositions and judgments. In section 1, we introduce the problem. In section 2, we explain the concept of proposition in the intuitionistic type theory as a development of the intuitionistic conception of proposition. In section 3, we explain the concept of judgment in the intuitionistic type theory. In section 4, we explain some basic inference rules and examine a particular derivation in the theory. In section 5, we examine one route from the Fregean distinction between propositions and judgments to the distinction between them in the intuitionistic type theory, paying attention to the alleged necessity for introducing different forms of judgments.

A Study on the Exhibition Space Composition and the Exhibition Method of the Theme Museum in Jeju (제주지역 테마박물관의 전시공간구성과 전시방식에 관한 연구)

  • There are many ways to know the social and cultural level of each country. Among them, a museum are not only the best place to understand the history, the life style and the culture level. The most important constituent, which museum architecture has, are visitors, exhibition and communication between visitors. Exhibition space composition is the one of important things in museum architecture, and it's essential to show an intent of exhibition to visitors. This thesis has the purpose to provide the basic material through analyzing exhibition space composition and exhibition method of the theme museum and understanding the relativity of them so that the new theme museums can be designed in the Tight direction. So I chose the independence museum that opened within recent 10 years, finally middle & small size's theme museum were selected. The results from the case study are as follow. Firstly, the exhibition space unit of basic type and center-hall enter type had a one-way for gateway and used the exhibition of three or four faces. The exhibition space unit of around tile center-hall type and guidance type had the separated gateway and used the exhibition of one or two faces. Secondly, the exhibition method of selected museums was divided into the wall face type and the island type. The exhibition method of two faces mainly used in guidance type caused complicated visitor circulation. In that case, it seemed to be good that two walls were used alternately. Thirdly, there were visual type, audio-visual type, handling type and experiential type in the method of exhibition. The former two types were used mostly, and the latter two types were rarely used. Fourthly, the wall face type was inefficient for exhibition because given walls were supposed to be used. Therefore, it was more effective to use the wall face type and the island type together.

  • This study aims to establish the identity of traditional Korean gardens and develop a universal way for overseas Koreans and foreigners to have an appropriate understanding of traditional Korean gardens, as part of efforts to distribute and promote the overseas establishment of traditional Korean gardens. The focus of this study is on developing planning and design guidelines to ensure that traditional Korean gardens have individuality when they are established overseas and on establishing directional rules for planners. Although traditional Korean gardens may vary in form according to their purposes and spatial scales, the most important thing is that they should incorporate emotions that are well-matched with Korean landscapes and that their design language should be easily recognizable and understandable to everyone. The basic spatial types of traditional Korean gardens for overseas establishment, which are presented in this study, include the exhibition(fair) type, the garden type and the park type. These basic types serve as prototypes that correspond to the purposes of the gardens. In consideration of the spatial scale, the exhibition(fair) type is set as the minimum unit for composition, and suggested basic facilities include trees, a well, a pond and an island in the pond, flower beds and fences. The results of this study have significance as basic information for planning and designing traditional Korean gardens for overseas establishment.
