In this article, we explore the issue concerning semiconductors half-space comprised of materials with varying thermal conductivity. The problem is within the framework of the generalized thermoelastic model under one thermal relaxation time. The half-boundary space's plane is considered to be traction free and is subjected to a thermal shock. The material is supposed to have a temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. The numerical solutions to the problem are achieved using the finite element approach. To find the analytical solution to the linear problem, the eigenvalue approach is used with the Laplace transform. Neglecting the new parameter allows for comparisons between numerical findings and analytical solutions. This facilitates an examination of the physical quantities in the numerical solutions, ensuring the accuracy of the proposed approach.

An analytical method for the simultaneous determination of trace Ge, As and Se in biological samples by inductively coupled plasma/mass spectrometry has been investigated. The effects of added organic gas into the coolant argon gas on the analyte signal were studied to improve the detection limit, accuracy and precision. The addition of a small amount of methane (10 mL/min.) into the coolant gas channel improved the ionization of Ge, As and Se. The analytical sensitivity of the proposed Ar/CH₄system was superior by at least two-fold to that of the conventional Ar method. In the present method, the detection limits obtained for Ge, As and Se were 0.014, 0.012 and 0.064 ㎍/L, respectively. The analytical reliability of the proposed method was evaluated by analyzing the certified standard reference materials (SRM). Recoveries of 99.9% for Ge, 103% for As, 96.5% for Se were obtained for NIST SRM of freeze dried urine sample. The proposed method was also applied to the biological samples.

Contaminative artifacts such as carbonaceous materials on carbon-coated microgrids are unavoidable, which is induced by electron beam exposure inside electron microscopes. This phenomenon raise a source to produce confusing information to the samples investigated by analytical TEM, which should be alleviated as much as possible. As experimental precautions for reducing this unwanted effect, the use of $LN_2$ cooled anti-contaminator and pre-illumination of electron beam at low magnification can be helpful. Nevertheless, we should be cautious to set an illumination condition for microanalysis because the contaminative effect is dependent with the types of irradiation situations, which is well known to be a decisive factor for causing the carbonaceous artifacts. Accordingly, it is necessary that optimal illumination to minimize the contaminative effect should be selected for improving the accuracy of microanalysis. In this paper, we introduce the practical method to determine the optimal illumination condition by evaluating the contaminative effect as a function of instrumental spot size, which is directly linked with electron current density.
In this paper we have constructed a mathematical model of alcohol abuse which consists of four compartments corresponding to four population classes, namely, moderate and occasional drinkers, heavy drinkers, drinkers in treatment and temporarily recovered class. Basic reproduction number $R_0$ has been determined and sensitivity analysis of $R_0$ indicates that ${\beta}1$ (the transmission coefficient from moderate and occasional drinker to heavy drinker) is the most useful parameter for preventing drinking habit. Stability analysis of the model is made using the basic reproduction number. The model is locally asymptotically stable at disease free or problem free equilibrium (DFE) $E_0$ when $R_0<1$. It is found that, when $R_0=1$, a backward bifurcation can occur and when $R_0>1$, the endemic equilibrium $E^*$ becomes stable. Further analysis gives the global asymptotic stability of DFE under some conditions. Our important analytical findings are illustrated through computer simulation. Epidemiological implications of our analytical findings are addressed critically.
A rapid BOD measurement system using a microbial membrane electrode has been developed. Culture of microorganism and the preparation of microbial membrane, the effect of sample flow rate on the BOD measurement, the effect of solution pH and response characteristics of the microbial membrane electrode were investigated. The rapid BOD measurement system developed by us was connected to a personal computer and the whole BOD measurement procedures were carried out automatically. The best results were obtained when the solution flow rate was 7.8mL/min and the data were obtained 5 minutes after sample injection.

Many polymeric poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrodes have been developed for the determination of basic drugs. But relatively little has been roported concerning the behavior of ligand free PVC memebranes. In connection with the evaluation of various ionophores, we bave evaluated a near-Nernstian response and selectivity of these ligand-free PVC electrodes towards basic drugs such as alverine, chlorpromazine and promazine. The electrode membranes were constructed with only several plasticizer and poly (vinyl chloride) matrix. The plasticizer studied were dioctyl phenylphosphonate, 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether, isododecyl phenylphosphate and dioctyl maleate.
The analysis of n-butylbenzene and 1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane (DBCP) as volatile organic compounds in biota samples was performed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-selected ion monitoring mode. The target compounds, n-butylbenzene and DBCP, in biota samples were extracted by headspace solid phase microextraction (SPME) with $100{\mu}m$ polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) fiber and purge & trap method. The extraction recoveries of these compounds obtained by SPME was 85.8% for n-butylbenzene and 92.4% for DBCP, respectively. Each value of method detection limit were $0.15{\mu}g/kg$ and $0.05{\mu}g/kg$, respectively. While in the case of purge & trap method, the extraction recovery was 115.2% for n-butylbenzene, 80.9% for DBCP and method detection limit were $0.04{\mu}g/kg$ and $0.70{\mu}g/kg$, respectively. The extraction yields and detection limits of these compounds obtained by purge & trap were equivalent to those by SPME.
This Paper analysis variable characteristics of inductance profiles and basic magnetic fields for Switched Reluctance Motors(SRM). The varying Inductance and flux linkage on operating control condition are very important for developing control algorithm and SRM accurate drive system. Therefore, we have analytical model for varying inductance and flux linkage with simulation and experimental mothed, and to find an analytical expression for the SRM coenergy. There are shown some good results that comparison of simulated and analytical inductance, flux linkage and current waves.
Evaluation of drug-excipient compatibility is one of the basic steps in the preformulation of pharmaceutical dosage forms. Some reactive excipients have been known so far which may cause stability problems for drug molecules in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The aim of this study was to evaluate drugexcipient compatibility of gliclazide with some common pharmaceutical excipients, known for their ability to incorporate in drug-excipient interactions. Binary mixtures were prepared using lactose, magnesium stearate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, sodium starch glycolate, polyethylene glycol 2000 and dicalcium phosphate. Based on the results; gliclazide was incompatible with all tested excipients; but not with dicalcium phosphate. DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) results were in accordance with HPLC (High Pressure liquid chromatography) data and were more predictive than FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy). Drug and reactive excipients incompatibility was fully discussed and documented. It is advisable to avoid incompatible excipients or carefully monitor the drug stability when incorporating such excipients in final formulation designs.

Cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and adaptation to environmental changes are regulated by protein phosphorylation. In order to enhance the understanding of molecular dynamics for biological process in detail, it is necessary to develop sensitive and comprehensive analytical methods for the determination of protein phosphorylation. Neural stem cells hold great promise for neural repair following an injury or disease. In this study, we made differentiated oligodendrocytes from human neural stem cells using over-expression of olig2 gene. We confirmed using quantitative phosphoproteome analysis approach that combines stable isotope labeling by amino acids in cell culture (SILAC) and $TiO_2$ micro-column for phosphopeptide enrichment with $MS^2$ and $MS^3$ mass spectrometry. We detected 275 phosphopeptides which were modulated at least 2-fold between human neural stem cells and oligodendrocytes. Among them, 23 phosphoproteins were up-regulated in oligodendrocytes and 79 phosphoproteins were up-regulated in F3 cells.
