  • A new method is developed to extract model parameters of SiGe HBT equivalent circuit including the base impedance and base-collector junction capacitance. Using this method, all resistances and capacitances of SiGe HBT are independently determined from measured S-parameters using two-port parameter formula. This method is proposed to reduce possible errors generated from global optimization process, and its accuracy has been verified by finding good agreements between measured and modeled current / power gain up to 18 GHz.

  • This research addresses the most sophisticated level of complexity of current electronic data processing(EDP) technology realtime, distributed data base(DDB) system. The major objective is to develop guidelines for the control and audit of these sophisticated system, since the control and audit philosophies, control features, and audit techniques applicable to traditional EDP systems are no longer fully appropriate for, or relevant to, these stat-of-art systems. An attempt is made to develop an internally consistent audit and control Conceptual Framework summarizing and integrating the material developed in this research, which then leads into the analysis of the control and audit model.

  • The national base map of Korea has become more useful as the spatial information industry has developed rapidly. Beyond the simple application of the past paper map era, the role as important spatial information in the smart city and digital twin era is required with the IT (Information Technology) revolution. Therefore, the concepts of seamless, multi scale, object-oriented, customized production and real-time updating have emerged, and innovations in the distribution process through the internet are also taking place. Although the concept and definition in the law that is corresponds to the status of the national base map must be supported, the concept and definition of the paper map introduced from the surveying law in 1980 still exist. The definition of the national base map cannot meet current technological developments and social needs and does not reflect the perceptions of the majority of the people as well as the practical capacity of government organizations that manage it. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the concept of national base map in accordance with the current situation and to define it in the law. In this study, the concept of national base map was established and defined by comprehensive analysis of the development process of the national base map, the changes in the times and cases of the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the understanding on the acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification of the elementary students. The participants in the current study were 280 6th graders from a elementary school in Gyeongnam Province. A questionnaire consists of four categories: understanding of (a) acid-base basic knowledge, (b) acid rain and (c) soil acidification. (d) In addition, students were asked to comment about the introduction of the acid rain experiment in the science textbook. The results are as follows; First, the results regarding acid-base basic knowledge. They know the classification, characteristics, and properties of acid-based solutions well but they don't know the acid-base neutralization, examples using properties and application in real life. Second, the results regarding acid rain, students know the definition and damage of acid rain but they don't know the causing substances, emission source and way of solution of acid rain for lack of knowledge. Third, the results regarding soil acidification was the well-known part for the students because they had continued learning about the soil from the lesson of acid rain. Also, we looked into the difference in gender and region about the understanding of acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification. According to the gender of the data about the understanding of acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification, the percentage of correct answers of female was higher than male's. Also we expected that urban students were higher than rural students on the understanding of acid-base, acid rain and soil acidification, but the understanding of urban students were similar to rural students. Fourth, we got positive answers and negative answers to the introduction of acid rain experiment. Most of the positive opinion were I want to know a lot acid rain experiment", followed by "It is possible to prevent the risk of the damage and It seems to having fun and new order. Most of the negative opinion were Acid rain experiment may be difficult and complicated followed by Just a theory in the book is enough, Acid rain experiment were boring and not fun, Acid rain experiment is dangerous, There are many to study in this order.

  • Microstructures and tensile properties in arc brazed joints of ferritic stainless steel, 429EM using Cu-8.6%Al insert metal was investigated as function of brazing current. The brazing speed was fixed at 800mm/min and brazing current varied in the range of 80A to 120A. The initial phase of filler metal was Cu single phase. However, the insert metal structures of brazed joints was composed of Cu matrix and intermetallic compound such as ${\gamma}_1(Al_4Cu_9)$, and flower-shape Fe-Cr. The fraction of ${\gamma}_1(Al_4Cu_9)$ phase was similar with 80A and 100A brazing currents while that of brazed with 120A was decreased. On the other hand, the fraction of Fe-Cr phase increased with increasing of the brazing current. A reaction layer at the base metal/insert metal interface was observed and this reaction layer was thickened with increasing of the brazing current. In the brazed joints with the current lower than 100A, crack was grew up along the interface which was perpendicular to the tensile stress, and then, passed through the insert metal in the final stage of fracture. As the brazing current increased to 120A, fracture occurred at the base metal.

  • A technical performance of the coating depends greatly on the thickness of painting film or coating film. Therefore the confirmed report of the technique to measure accurately is essential to the coating film thickness for the assessment about a coating quality performance. In this paper, two gap sensors - eddy current gap sensor and capacitance gap sensor - which has a different operating principle were used to measure the thickness of a nonmagnetic substance coating film such as paint, enamel or ceramic that was coated on the metallic material. A capacitance gap sensor was used to measure the distance between the sensor head and a coating film and an eddy current gap sensor to measure the distance between the sensor head and a base metal. Then the thickness of a coating film was obtained by the difference of two measurement value. At this result, the suggested dual sensor can measure an arbitrary film thickness to be coated on a base metal as the measurement value of coating thickness exists accurately within the 2% error.

  • A fast switching thyristor with a superior trade-off property between the on-state voltage drop and the turn-off time could be fabricated by the proton irradiation method. After making symmetric thyristor dies with a voltage rating of 1,600 V from 350 $\mu$m thickness of 60 $\Omega$ㆍcm NTD-Si wafer and 200 $\mu$m width of n-base drift layer, the local carrier lifetime control by the proton irradiation was performed with help of the HI-13 tandem accelerator in China. The thyristor samples irradiated with 4.7 MeV proton beam showed a superior trade-off relationship of $V_{TM}$ = 1.55 V and $t_{q}$ = 15 $\mu$s attributed to a very narrow layer of short carrier lifetime(~1 $\mu$s) in the middle of its n-base drift region. To explain the small increase of $V_{TM}$ , we will introduce the effect of carrier compensation at the low carrier lifetime region by the diffusion current.ffusion current.t.

  • The Nanjido Landfill has recently become one of the most important environmental sites for a hydrogeological study. Hydrogeological study was performed by understanding the current situation, analyzing hydrogeological information, and constructing a hydrogeological data base. The constructed data base was used for the analyses of several important phenomena in the Nanjido Landfill. Saturated hydraulic conductivity and underground temperature were measured. Based on the hydraulic conductivity and rainfall data, net infiltration rates were estimated. Leachate production rates are estimated by using the data base. The data base and a hydraulic model were used to understand the formation of the so called floating leachate layer.

  • A handover is a technology that enables data transmission and receipt seamlessly while a mobile station moves from the current base station to another base station. The handover is basically classified into two types; a horizontal handover which changes a radio link only without changing a network link, and a vertical handover which changes both in heterogeneous networks. In this paper, we propose a vertical handover protocol in a dual base station which supports both of W-CDMA and WiBro networks based on SDR (Software Defined Radio), verify the rightness using a state transition diagram and a Petri-net, and evaluate the performance of the proposed protocol using NS-2 simulator.
