Control of the Z-Source Inverter using Average Model (평균 모델을 이용한 Z-소스 인버터의 제어)

  • This paper presents a design strategy for the control of the Z-source inverter (ZSI). For the Z-network capacitor voltage control, the average current model is derived to describe the dynamics of the voltage control and the controller outputs the average current command for the capacitor. Z-network inductor current reference is derived from the average current model of the Z-network capacitor. The inner current control loop outputs the average voltage command for the Z-network inductor and the shoot-through duty ratio of the ZSI is calculated from the output using the average voltage model of the Z-network inductor. The gain values of the current and voltage controllers are directly obtained by the Z-network parameters and desired bandwidth of each controller without a gain tuning process.

  • A reflective array type surface acoustic wave(SAW) dispersive delay line(DDL) with high time-bandwidth at the V/UHF-band is designed and fabricated for compressive receiver applications. This type of the SAW DDL has the properties of the relative bandwidth of 20 %, the time delay of 49.89 usec, the insertion loss of 38.5 dB and the side lobe rejection of 39 dB. In comparison with a commercial SAW DDL, the insertion loss, amplitude ripple and side lobe rejection are improved by $1.5dB{\pm}0.6dB$ and 4 dB respectively. Using the fabricated SAW DDL, the prototype of the compressive receiver is developed. It is composed of RF converter, fast tunable LO, chirp LO, A/D converter, signal processing unit and control unit. This prototype system shows a fine frequency resolution of below 30 kHz with high scan rate.

  • Wireless data communication is easy to be affected by channel noise and degrade reliability and stability by the multipath fading and ISI compared with wired data communication. In this paper, we designed and implemented indoor wireless modem adopted DQPSK modulation scheme for improvement of bandwidth efficiency, and convolutional encoding, Viterbi decoding and hybrid ARQ algorithm combinig FEC with CRC for efficient error control in indoor wireless channel. Testing the implemented wireless modem, we verified the proposed scheme is proper to efficient and reliable indoor wireless data communication.

  • The two way subscriber transmission systems have tendency to spread its carrier frequency bandwidth or information bit rate and average bit error rate according to popularization of high speed information through the digital communication system, transmission medium and the Internet. This fact is an important incentive to realize new systems. These two way subscriber transmission systems usually use same cable or same carrier frequency bandwidth for up stream channel and down stream channel. In the systems, the disturbances of noise, crosstalk or fading affect the characteristics. Specifically, these disturbances cause the decrease of information bit rate and degradation of transmission quality. This paper proposes the improved method of their degradations using the particular feature of two way subscriber transmission systems and it makes clear proposed method is effective by theoretically and some numerical examples.

  • This paper shows the more improved design of MRI receiver compared to conventional one based on Elscint Spectrometer. At first, the low-cost ADC is 16 bits, 3MHz sampling A/D converter Comparing to conventional one with signal bits of 14 bits, this device with those of 16 bits helps getting Improved the image resolution improved. If frequency is designed centering around 7.6 MHz to be satisfied in 10 MHz of maximum input bandwidth of ADC. For 1st demodulation, fixed IF is used for the purpose of the implementing multi nuclei system. Control parts & partial digital parts are integrated on one chip(FPGA). In DDC(Digital Down Converter), we got required bandwidth of LPF by controlling its decimation rate. With above considerations, we designed optimal receiver for high resolution imaging to be implemented through PC interface & experimental test of receiver of MRI after receiver's fabrication.

  • This paper analyzes the effect of resistance error to the performance of sensorless drive system of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous machine (SMPMSM) based on the back-EMF observer. The analysis shows that the bandwidth of the entire sensorless drive system decreased in the low-speed region when using smaller resistance value than the actual one in the back-EMF observer. Even if the back-EMF observer invokes estimation error, the entire sensorless drive system does not make any steady-state position error. These characteristics may have positive effects such as extension of the low speed limit that goes further down in the sensorless drive. The validity of the analysis is verified by the experimental setup comprising the MG set.

  • The Controller Area Network (CAN) is being widely used in real-time control applications such as automobiles, aircraft, and automated factories. Unfortunately, CAN, in its current form, is not able to either share out the system bandwidth among the different devices fairly or to grant an upper bound on the transmission times experienced by the nodes connected to the communication medium as it happens, for instance, in the token-based networks. In this paper, we present An Application Layer Design for Humanoid Robot in the CAN. Besides introducing the new algorithm, this paper also presents some performance figures obtained using a specially developed software simulator and experimentation for composition of CAN which uses JTAG mode of a parallel debugging., while the behavior of the new algorithm is compared with the traditional CAN systems. in order to see how effective they are.

  • Current controlled inverter is the device which gives fast and accurate current output response for current command Existing current controlled inverters have no way but to take a narrow bandwidth due to resonance of output filter. In this paper, High performance current controlled inverter with multiloop structure is designed and modeling is executed in that basis. This paper realizes the high performance current controlled inverter with the bandwidth above resonant frequency, controls proposed inverter by analog controller, analyzes the performances through simulation and tests 2kW prototype system.

  • A Helmholtz resonator is one of noise control elements widely used in many practical applications. The resonator has very high absorption at resonance frequency but the frequency bandwidth is very small. Therefore many kinds of additional resistive screens have been applied to the resonator's neck in order to increase the bandwidth. This paper discusses the absorptive characteristics of a Helmholtz resonator damped by a flexible porous screen in form of wire mesh. First, various experimental results are introduced and studied. Secondly, the effect of the resistive screen is theoretically predicted. It is shown that the distance between the screen and aperture affects on the resonance frequency as well as the absorption of the system.

  • $MTP^{TM}$ guarantees high bandwidth that is necessary to tansmit high qualify full motion video data effectively. In other hand TCP/IP which is used for information search does not guarentee high bandwidth as that in $MTP^{TM}$. Therefore VOD service system that searches information manged by DBMS and transmits required full motion video data should control different kinds of protocol simultaneously. This paper describes the configuration of VODB system that has solved these problems.
