  • Spectrum sharing between wireless systems becomes a critical issue due to emerging new technologies and spectrum shortage. Since WRC-07 allocated 3400-3600MHz band for the coming fourth generation (4G) or IMT-Advanced on a co-primary basis along with existing Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), it requires spectrum sharing studies to solve the interference problems between two systems. In this paper, I propose the separation distance between service coverages as a sharing fundamental criterion based on the interference to noise power ratio (I/N) received in a FWA base station from several IMT-Advanced base stations on the cellular systems. Especially, some results imply that I/N values compared to the worst case can be greatly reduced with MIMO SDMA interference mitigation technique of IMT-Advanced base stations so that these two systems can co-exist in the same frequency with appropriate separation distance.

  • In this paper, we proposed an application method of ICA (Independent Component Analysis) to passive line array sonar to separate interferences from target signals in low frequency band and compared performance of three conventional ICA algorithms. Since the low frequency signals are received through larger bearing angles than other frequency bands, neighboring beam signals can be used to perform ICA as measurement signals of the ICA. We use three ICA algorithms such as Fast ICA, NNMF (Non-negative Matrix Factorization) and JADE (Joint Approximation Diagonalization of Eigen-matrices). Through experiments on real data obtained from passive line array sonar, it is verified that the interference can be separable from target signals by the suggested method and the JADE algorithm shows the best separation performance among the three algorithms.

  • A method, based upon the separation of cellular proteins by one-and two-dimensional electrophoresis was used for distinguishing butween Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains and Rhizobium fredii strains. Significant differences in protein pattern of one-dimensional SDS-PAGE vs-ere observed between Rhizobium fredii strains and Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains. The differences in six distinct main lands were observed among total 52 kinds of protein bands. Furthermore, the distribution of proteins in two groups by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis was very different. The majority of visible proteins of Rhizobium fredii were acidic, whereas those of Bradyrhizobium japonicum were basic. In addition, amino acid composition was analyzed to detect the differences between two groups. No significant differences in amino acid composition were observed between Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains and Rhizobium fredii strains. The results indicate that one-and two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis were useful for identifying rhizobia isolates. One-dimensional SDS-PAGE of rhizobia proteins provided a rapid method for screening a large number of isolates, whereas two-dimensional electrophoresis was more of resolution and easiness for analyzing protein spots.

  • As a communications system and using the wireless devices is increased at the world, the interference among devices at 2.4GHz band become issue. New complex content technology as education, concert, broadcast, thema-park are developed between Virtual Reality technology and tradition. That is expect an annual growth rate of more than 14%. Almost Virtual Reality devices use motion sense or a wireless joystick. Therefore it is necessarily to analyze the coexistence between Virtual Reality devices and Wi-Fi in the ISM band. The interference scenario and propagation of the Extended Hata Model was established to analyze the interference from WLAN into Virtual Reality devices. Through simulation results based on Monte-Carlo principle, separation frequency was obtained to protect WLAN interference from Virtual Reality devices.

  • J-aggregates in the mutual mixing LB films of [6Me-DS]$_{1-x}$ [DO]$_{x}$,[DS]$_{1-x}$ [DO]$_{x}$ and [DSe]$_{1-x}$ [DO]$_{x}$ have been studied by optical absorption, fluorescence and surface pressure-area isotherms. In [6Me-DS]$_{1-x}$ [DO]$_{x}$ films, sharp J-band absorption and fluorescence of [6Me-DS] are linearly shifted to the longer wavelength for the replacement of [6Me-DS] by [DO]. According to the x, a smooth shift of the limited area has been cleared. In the [DS]-[DO] system, the J-band is enhanced at 1:1 composition and strong fluorescence is also observed. Also, the presence of phase separation was suggested in the [DSe]-[DO] system, because the absorption spectra were decomposed into [DSe] and [DO] spectra. On the other hand, in the pressure-area isothermal study, reduction in the molecular occupying area of monolayers has been clarified. This could be ascribed to the enhancement of molecular ordering in J-aggregates. These facts are also believed to reflect the most closely packed arrangement of chromophores in the merocyanine dye monolayers. Thus, it was confirmed that the interaction between mixed dye molecules and the CdC1$_2$+KHCO$_3$subphases affected the J-aggregates of the LB films. Also. it is thought that the J-aggregates are formed non-dimensionally in LB films, such as solution synthesized [DX:DO] assemblies on mixing.s on mixing.

  • Culture-independent 16S rDNA-DGGE profiling and phylogenetic analysis were used to examine the predominant bacterial communities associated with the two sponges, Dictyonella sp. and Spirastrella abata from Jeju island. The culture-independent approach involved extraction of total bacterial DNA, PCR amplification of the 16S ribosomal DNA using primer pair 341f-GC and 518r, and separation of the amplicons on a denaturing gradient gel. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis banding patterns indicated 8 and 7 bands from the two sponge species, Dictyonella sp. and Spirastrella abata, respectively. There were not common major bands in two different sponges. Comparative sequence analysis of variable DGGE bands revealed from 93% to 98% similarity to the known published sequences. The dominant bacterial group of Dictyonella sp. belonged to uncultured Gammaproteobacteria, while, that of Spirastrella abata belonged to uncultured Alphaproeobacteria and Firmicutes. DGGE analysis indicated predominant communities of the sponge-associated bacteria differ in the two sponges from the same geographical location. This result revealed that bacterial community profiles of the sponges were host species-specific.

  • This paper analyzes the electrical characteristic such as the impedance(Z), inductance(L), and cable resistance($R_p$) according to the change of cable length in order to move the electrical sorting device for distinguishing between AF non-insulated track circuits from the center of railway to outside railway. The simulation is performed to check the voltage difference between the voltage of sender and the voltage of receiver and determine the possibility of the voltage restoration availability in the frequency filter band through the capacitor compensation. It was applied to the results of the simulation to the sorting devices installed in the actual field. It is proved the availability by checking the measured voltage characteristic according to the capacitor compensating change of $10{\mu}F$ and $16{\mu}F$ before, and after the length of cable is increased with 6 meters. Through this, the prevention of breakdown and damage to facilities and the prevention the safety-related accidents of line workers from the train are expected according to moving the sorting devices of AR non-insulated track circuits to outside railway.

  • In this study, the vibration data were obtained to analyze the vibration generated during dismantling of slab using the mechanical dismantling method. The obtained vibration data were classified according to the attachment device and then the waveform and dominant frequency analysis were performed. And the correlation was analyzed by the different methods of measuring the distance between the work section and the measurement point. As a result of the waveform analysis for each attachment device, there was little change in the phase of the vibration waveform and only the change in amplitude, which is the magnitude of the vibration velocity. And as a result of frequency analysis, the frequency band was lower when using a crusher method than a braker method and frequency band were close of the natural frequency of the structure to be dismantled. As a result of the correlation analysis, the separation distance was estimated a higher correlation when evaluated as the path through which the vibration propagates along the structure frame than the straight distance between the measurement point and the working section.

  • Continuous column chromatographic separation of lysozyme from egg white was investigated. A weak acid type cation exchange resin, Duolite C-464, was used because of high lysozyme recovery and ease of column operation in this experiment. The resin was equilibrated at $pH\;7.9{\pm}0.1$ in Na+form. Continuous lysozyme separation was processed by repeating cycles(one cycle : resin equilibration, flow egg white, rinse, lysozyme elution) in automated preparative Liquid Chromatography(LC) system(column size ; i.d. 50 mm, resin bed volumn ; 1020 ml). At comparison of UV levels in rinse end point and elution end point of every cycle, the UV levels of rinse end point are maintained below 30% for 19 cycles and that of elution end point are also maintained below 30% for 17 cycles, stably, but was increased above 50% after 18 cycle. That indicated the eluting ability of lysozyme was reduced conspicuously after 18 cycle in continuous cycling process. The recovery of lysozyme was maintained above 90% from one to 17 cycle, but was decreased to 72% and 65% in 18 cycle and 19 cycle, respectively.

  • In this paper, the optimum antenna placement is analyzed by considering the interference between airborne antennas mounted on the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV). The analysis is implemented by selecting the antennas that the distance and operational frequency band between airborne antennas is close to each other among the omni-directional antennas. The analyzed antennas are the control datalink, TCAS(Traffic Collision & Avoidance System), IFF(Identification Friend or Foe), GPS(Global Positioning System), and RALT(Radar ALTimeter) antennas. There are three steps for the optimum antenna placement analysis. The first step is selecting the antenna position having the optimum properties by monitoring the variation of radiation pattern and return loss by the fuselage of UAV after selecting the initial antenna position considering the antenna use, type, and radiation pattern. The second one is analyzing the interference strength between airborne antennas considering the coupling between airborne antennas, spurious of transmitting antenna, and minimum receiving level of receiving antenna. In case of generating the interference, the antenna position without interference is selected by analyzing the minimum separation distance without interference. The last one is confirming the measure to reject the frequency interference by the frequency separation analysis between airborne antennas in case that the intereference is not rejected by the additional distance separation between airborne antennas. This analysis procedure can be efficiently used to select the optimum antenna placement without interference by predicting the interference between airborne antennas in the development stage.
