  • Let X, Y be vector spaces, and let r be 2 or 4. It is shown that if an odd mapping $f:X{\rightarrow}Y$ satisfies the functional equation $${\hspace{50}}rf(\frac{\sum_{j=1}^{d}\;x_j} {r})+\;{\sum\limits_{\iota(j)=0,1 \atop {\sum_{j=1}^{d}}\;{\iota}(j)=l}}\;rf(\frac{\sum_{j=1}^{d}{(-1)^{\iota(j)}x_j}}{r}) \\({\ddag}){\hspace{160}}=(_{d-1}C_l-_{d-1}C_{l-1}+1)\;{\sum\limits_{j=1}^{d}\;f(x_j)}$$ then the odd mapping $f:X{\rightarrow}Y$ is additive, and we prove the Cauchy-Rassias stability of the functional equation in Banach modules over a unital $C^*$-algebra. As an application, we show that every almost linear bijection $h:{\mathcal{A}}{\rightarrow}{\mathcal{B}}$ of a unital $C^*$-algebra ${\mathcal{A}}$ onto a unital $C^*$-algebra ${\mathcal{B}}$ is a $C^*$-algebra isomorphism when $h(2^nuy)=h(2^nu)h(y)$ for all unitaries $u{\in}{\mathcal{A}}$, all $y{\in}{\mathcal{A}}$, and $n=0,1,2,{\cdots}$.

  • In this paper we will show that if there exist derivations D, G on a n!-torsion free semi-prime ring R such that the mapping $D^2+G$ is n-commuting on R, then D and G are both commuting on R. And we shall give the algebraic conditions on a ring that a Jordan derivation is zero.

  • In this paper, we show that if $\mathcal{A}$ is a differential subalgebra of Banach algebras $\mathcal{B}({\ell}^r)$, $1{\leq}r{\leq}{\infty}$, then solutions of the infinite dimensional linear system associated with a matrix in $\mathcal{A}$ have its p-exponential stability being equivalent to each other for different $1{\leq}p{\leq}{\infty}$.

  • In this paper, we solve and investigate the superstability of the p-radical functional equations $$f(\sqrt[p]{x^p+y^p})-f(\sqrt[p]{x^p-y^p})={\lambda}f(x)g(y),\\f(\sqrt[p]{x^p+y^p})-f(\sqrt[p]{x^p-y^p})={\lambda}g(x)f(y),$$ which is related to the trigonometric(Kim's type) functional equations, where p is an odd positive integer and f is a complex valued function. Furthermore, the results are extended to Banach algebras.

  • We show that mappings preserving unit distance are close to two-isometries. We also prove that a mapping f is a linear isometry up to translation when f is a two-expansive surjective mapping preserving unit distance. Then we apply these results to consider two-isometries between normed spaces, strictly convex normed spaces and unital $C^*$-algebras. Finally, we propose some remarks and problems about generalized two-isometries on Banach spaces.

  • We define a new concept of module amenability which is compatible with original definition of amenability. For a module dual algebra 𝓐, we will show that if every module derivation D : 𝓐** → J𝓐** is inner then 𝓐 is weak module amenable. Moreover, we will prove that under certain conditions, weak module amenability of 𝓐** implies weak module amenability of 𝓐.

  • In this paper, we investigate the superstability for the p-power-radical sine functional equation $$f\(\sqrt[p]{\frac{x^p+y^p}{2}}\)^2-f\(\sqrt[p]{\frac{x^p-y^p}{2}}\)^2=f(x)f(y)$$ from an approximation of the p-power-radical functional equation: $$f(\sqrt[p]{x^p+y^p})-f(\sqrt[p]{x^p-y^p})={\lambda}g(x)h(y),$$ where p is an odd positive integer and f, g, h are complex valued functions. Furthermore, the obtained results are extended to Banach algebras.

  • It is shown that every almost positive linear mapping h : $\mathcal{A}\rightarrow\mathcal{B}$ of a Banach *-algebra $\mathcal{A}$ to a Banach *-algebra $\mathcal{B}$ is a positive linear operator when h(rx) = rh(x) (r > 1) holds for all $x\in\mathcal{A}$, and that every almost linear mapping h : $\mathcal{A}\rightarrow\mathcal{B}$ of a unital C*-algebra $\mathcal{A}$ to a unital C*-algebra $\mathcal{B}$ is a positive linear operator when h($2^nu*y$) = h($2^nu$)*h(y) holds for all unitaries $u\in \mathcal{A}$, all $y \in \mathcal{A}$, and all n = 0, 1, 2, ..., by using the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of functional equations. Under a more weak condition than the condition as given above, we prove that every almost linear mapping h : $\mathcal{A}\rightarrow\mathcal{B}$ of a unital C*-algebra $\mathcal{A}$ A to a unital C*-algebra $\mathcal{B}$ is a positive linear operator. It is applied to investigate states, center states and center-valued traces.

  • In authors' paper in 2007, it was shown that the BSE-extension of $C^1_0(R)$, the algebra of continuously differentiable functions f on the real number space R such that f and df /dx vanish at infinity, is the Lipschitz algebra $Lip_1(R)$. This paper extends this result to the case of $C^n_0(R^d)$ and $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$, where n and d represent arbitrary natural numbers. Here $C^n_0(R^d)$ is the space of all n-times continuously differentiable functions f on $R^d$ whose k-times derivatives are vanishing at infinity for k = 0, ${\cdots}$, n, and $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$ is the space of all (n - 1)-times continuously differentiable functions on $R^d$ whose k-times derivatives are bounded for k = 0, ${\cdots}$, n - 1, and (n - 1)-times derivatives are Lipschitz. As a byproduct of our investigation we obtain an important result that $C^{n-1,1}_b(R^d)$ has a predual.
