Purpose Recent retrospective studies are being actively conducted to analyze the survival of patients with SUVmax, MTV, TLG, such as information from a variety of PET originating. However, there is no clear way is difficult to accurately measure the volume of the tumor may be the difference between the caster is raised. In this study, to evaluate compare the volume measuring methods according to the characteristics of the tumor. Materials and Methods 18F-saline to fill the NEMA IEC Body Phantom insert the volume of balance and imbalance in phantom were acquired to the Biograph truepoint 40 (Siemens medical system, Germany) PET/CT scanner. The ratio of the volume and Background was acquired as 3.0, 5.0, 8.0, 18, 40. Clinical patients were randomly selected 120 people in staging patients with cancer of the digestive system from the year 2010 until the year 2014. Measurement methods were used a 40% threshold, 50% threshold and gradient segmentation technique, i.e. PET EDGE. Five years of experience of the two radio-technologist and one doctor was measured by repeated three times. Analysis methods were Intraclass correlation coefficient and Pearson correlation. Results In Phantoms, the 40% threshold method gave the best concordance between measured and actual volumes (r = 0.992, 0.997). In clinical patient outcome agreement between observers EDGE it is as high as 0.999 (CI: 0.998-0.999). And there were no statistical significance of the difference between the measurements (P = 0.620). 40% threshold method showed the best correlation between the measurements (r = 0.953). Increasing the ratio of tumor to background decreased the influence of a measuring method. Conclusion How to measure volume of the tumor in the patient was clinically most useful is 50% and the lowest impact on the characteristics of the tumor. Therefore, to reduce the background of the patients in PET/CT scan, it should be required research and effort.
Because of the high energy of the treatment beam, contrast of portal films is very poor. Many image processing techniques have been applied to the portal images but a significant drawback is the loss of definition on the edges of the treatment field. Analysis of this problem shows that it may be remedied by separating the treatment field from the background prior to enhancement and uslng only the pixels within the field boundary in the enhancement procedure. A new edge extraction algorithm for accurate extraction of the radiation field boundary from portal Images has been developed for contrast enhancement of portal images. In this paper, portal image segmentation algorithm based on Sobel filtration, labelling processes and morphological thinning has been presented. This algorithm could automatically search the optimal threshold value which is sensitive to the variation of the type and quality of portal images.
Many building detection methods mainly rely on line segments extracted from aerial or satellite imagery. Building detection methods based on line segments, however, are difficult to succeed in high resolution satellite imagery such as IKONOS imagery, for most buildings in IKONOS imagery have small size of roofs with low contrast between roof and background. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to extract line segments and group them at the same time. First, edge preserving filtering is applied to the imagery to remove the noise. Second, we segment the imagery by watershed method, which collects the pixels with similar intensities to obtain homogeneous region. The boundaries of homogeneous region are not completely coincident with roof boundaries due to low contrast in the vicinity of the roof boundaries. Finally, to resolve this problem, we set up snake model with segmented region boundaries as initial snake's positions. We used a greedy algorithm to fit a snake to roof boundary. Experimental results show our method can obtain more .correct roof boundary with small size and low contrast from IKONOS imagery. Snake algorithm, building roof detection, watershed segmentation, edge-preserving filtering
It is often assumed that text regions in images are characterized by some distinctive or characteristic spatial frequencies. This feature is highly intuitive, and thus appealing as much. We propose a method of detecting horizontal texts in natural scene images. It is based on the use of two features that can be employed separately or in succession: the frequency of edge pixels across vertical and horizontal scan lines, and the fundamental frequency in the Fourier domain. We confirmed that the frequency features are language independent. Also addressed is the detection of quadrilaterals or approximate rectangles using Hough transform. Since texts that is meaningful to many viewers usually appear within rectangles with colors in high contrast to the background. Hence it is natural to assume the detection rectangles may be helpful for locating desired texts correctly in natural outdoor scene images.

As the Internet has grown, energy consumption and GHG emission from internet use have become issues in recent years. On the other hand, such interest in greening the Internet has focused on edge devices, and there is a lack of deeper related studies of the energy wasted by excessive network-connectivity and the savings potential in wired network equipment. This study presents the background and reasonability of studies on the energy efficiency of wired networks in terms of the environment, economy and energy resources. The energy consumption and savings potential of network equipment were also estimated and the major factors of energy consumption was analyzed based on the data, and future studies for the Internet are presented.

In this Study, we try to suggest a system that recognize worker's regular motion more effectively First, based on frame difference that separates still background from movable object to video that make a film of worker's motion. The next, with edge detection, estimating the center of motion could recognize continuous motion. By action cognition system that design in this research films worker's action using fixed CCTV to supplement problem of action awareness system that is applied in existent industry spot, various mountings to get action information minimized. Also, shorten session that need in awareness enforcing action awareness through image subtraction and edge detection between frame to reduce time necessary to draw worker's body part special quality, expense designed inexpensive action cognition system as being efficient.

We present a simple and effective method of face and facial feature detection under pose variation of user face in complex background for the human-robot interaction. Our approach is a flexible method that can be performed in both color and gray facial image and is also feasible for detecting facial features in quasi real-time. Based on the characteristics of the intensity of neighborhood area of facial features, new directional template for facial feature is defined. From applying this template to input facial image, novel edge-like blob map (EBM) with multiple intensity strengths is constructed. Regardless of color information of input image, using this map and conditions for facial characteristics, we show that the locations of face and its features - i.e., two eyes and a mouth-can be successfully estimated. Without the information of facial area boundary, final candidate face region is determined by both obtained locations of facial features and weighted correlation values with standard facial templates. Experimental results from many color images and well-known gray level face database images authorize the usefulness of proposed algorithm.

The purpose of this study is to investigate fashion advertisements portraying ambiguous sex phenomena, including homosexuality codes and to analyze the meaning of these advertisements in order to develop effective fashion advertisements strategies. The method of this study was to observe the readings about ambiguous sex theory, including homosexuality, and analyze fashion advertisements that express this through the Internet and fashion journals. The ambiguous sex expression seen in fashion advertisements meet various consumers' needs which is what the latest advertisement market requires, and offer competitive brand image by fresh appeal. In the background, there are various complex factors like the change of contemporary spirit, and designers' tastes and values about homosexuality. The kinds of ambiguous sex expression techniques portrayed in fashion advertisements can be divided as the ambiguity of physical codes and the ambiguity of sex role identity. These advertisements do play a role as a public campaign for a change in society from the sociocultural point of view. And, from the economical viewpoint, they approach the consumer as a fresh marketing strategy. From the esthetic viewpoint, they express new esthetic sense named “edge” And seen from the designers' viewpoints, they express designers' private sexual identities.

In this paper, We Propose the automobile license plate extraction method using Discrete Cosin Transform and Correlation fem automobile image obtained through digital camera. The automobile license plate is consisted of the character and rectangle background of it. We extracted the automobile edge image by the DCT processing of automobile image and Obtained the automobile license plate from the automobile edge image by Correlation processing. We separated characters from automobile license plate using the projection histogram. Compare to the previous methods, we obtained the good result from extracting the automobile license plate at night, very strong light and bad weather.
Previous work measurement methods need much time and effort of time study analysts because they have to measure required time through direct observations. In this study, we propose a method which efficiently measures standard times without involvement of human analysts using digital image processing techniques. This method consists of two main steps: motion representation step and cycle segmentation step. In motion representation step, we first detect the motion of any object distinct from its background by differencing two consecutive images separated by a constant time interval. The images thus obtained then pass through an edge detector filter. Finally, the mean values of coordinates of significant pixels of the edge image are obtained. Through these processes, the motions of the observed worker are represented by two time series data of worker location in horizontal and vertical axes. In the second step, called the cycle segmentation step, we extract the frames which have maximum or minimum coordinates in one cycle and store them in a stack, and calculate each cycle time using these frames. In this step we also consider methods on how to detect work delays due to unexpected events such as operator's escapement from the work area, or interruptions. To condude, the experimental results show that the proposed method is very cost-effective and useful for measuring time standards for various work environment.
