In order to maximize the RNA accumulation and biomass production in Saccharomyces cerevisiae MTY62, a high-content RNA yeast strain, fed-bach cultures were performed with optimized industrial medium including molasses and corn steep liquor. Among the feeding modes examined, the constant feeding mode resulted in the cell concentration of 35.7 g-DCW/L and the RNA concentration of 5434 ${\mu}g-RNA/mL$, which were about 2-fold increased levels, compared to the results of bach culture. However, the RNA content (153 mg-RNA/g-DCW) in the fed-batch cultures was lower than that in the batch culture (171 mg-RNA/g-DCW).

In this paper, the dynamics of a novel 2-DOF planar Translational Parallel Manipulator (TPM) is analyzed. The suggested TPM is made up of two PPa (Prismatic-planar Parallelogram) legs. Since all the linear actuators are mounted on the base, the proposed TPM can be applied for high speed positioning applications. The Lagrangian equations of the first type is employed to derive the inverse dynamic equations. It is shown that the analytical inverse dynamics equations match very well with ADAMS simulations. These analytical inverse dynamics equations will be used for the real-time computed torque control in the further work.

We presented fundamental stellar parameters and evolutionary statuses of six solar type detached eclipsing binaries whose masses are in the range of 0.97-1.43 $M_{\odot}$. EK Cep and FL Lyr belong to the zero age main sequence. HS Hya, IT Cas and CD Tau are on the main sequence. Their ages are 1.3, 1.9 and 2.2 Gyr, respectively. Both component stars of AI Phe evolved to sub giants and its age is 4.0 Gyr. Those ages of the detached binary systems show good agreement with the time scale for synchronization and circularization of the binary systems.

Recent observations show that there are variations in light elements, such as C, N, O, and Na, between the sub-populations in most globular clusters in the Milky Way. In order to investigate their effects on the evolution of stars in globular clusters, we constructed new sets of isochrones and horizontal branch evolutionary tracks under different assumptions as to the abundance of N and O ([N/Fe] and [O/Fe], respectively). In this talk, we will present our preliminary results from these calculations.

Incorporating the fully quantum mechanical computation of scattering cross-section and statistical moment analysis of absorption profiles, we investigate the Lyman line asymmetry of extremely high column density systems. Recent high redshift observations detected strong damped Lyman alpha systems (DLAs) whose column density is larger than N_HI ~ [10]^21.3 cm^(-2). Absorption profiles of these DLAs are characterized by the broad and asymmetric damping wing. For accurate description of radiation damping, the second-order time-dependent perturbation theory is adopted. To quantitatively address line asymmetry, we define a distribution function for each Lyman line, and compute statistical moments (mean, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis) regarding column densities N_HI > [10]^18 cm^(-2). In this work, we present statistical properties of the intrinsic line profiles, and compare them with the Lorentzian cases.

Location selection of distribution centers is a crucial task for logistics operators and key decision makers of an organization. This is a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) process which includes both quantitative and qualitative criteria. In order to propose an optimized location selection model, this research suggests a hierarchical group of evaluation criteria : 5 major criteria with 15 sub-criteria. The MCDM approach presented in this research, by integrating Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), tends to rectify the overall quality and uncertainty of the values of evaluation criteria. An example of a location selection case in Korea is illustrated in this study to show the effectiveness of this method.
