Electrical properties of BST system thick films for microwave devices applications (초고주파 소자로의 응용을 위한 BST계 후막의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • ($Ba_{0.6-x}Sr_{0.4}Ca_x)TiO_3$ (BSCT) (x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20) powder, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with organic vehicle and the BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing techniques on alumina substrates using the BSCT paste. The structural and the electrical properties were investigated for various composition ratio and sintering temperature. BSCT thick film thickness, obtained by four printings, was approximately 110 ~ 120 ${\mu}m$. The Curie temperature and dielectric constant at room temperature were decreased with increasing Ca content. The relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tunability of the BSCT(50/40/10) specimen, which was sintered at $1420^{\circ}C$ and measured at 1MHz, were about 910, 0.46% and 9.28% at 5kV/cm, respectively.

  • .고상반응법 (solid state reaction)합성된 ZnS:Mn,Cu,Cl 형광체는 약 $20^{\sim}25{\mu}m$ 의 구형이고, Cubic/hexagonal 구조를 보였다. Electroluminescent device(ELD)는 실크 스크린된 형광층(ZnS:Mn,Cu,Cl)/유전체층 ($BaTiO_3$)으로 구성되었으며, 각층은 $30^{\sim}50{\mu}m,\;50^{\sim}60{\mu}m$ 정도로 도포 하였다. 100 V-400 Hz 의 구동조건에서, ELD 의 백색 발광은 450 nm, 480 nm 픽에서 각각 $Cl_s{\to}Cu^{+}\;_{Zn},\;Cl_s{\to}Cu^{2+}\;_{Zn}$ 전이에 의해 중첩된 청색, 녹색 밴드의 발광과, 580 nm 픽에서 Mn 의 $^{4}T_1{\to}^{6}A_1$ 전이에 의한 황색 밴드의 발광으로 이루어진다. Cu 농도의 증가에 따라 450 nm 의 발광 밴드의 휘도는 감소하며 580 nm 의 발광 밴드의 휘도가 증가하였고 발광 휘도가 향상되었다. 즉, 색온도가 높은 cold white(10000 K)에서 색온도가 낮은 Warm white(3000 K) 로 변한다. 이것은 450 nm 의 발광 밴드가 580 nm 의 발광 밴드에 흡수되는 에너지 전이 (Energy transfer) 현상에 기인한다. ZnS:Mn,Cu,Cl 의 Mn 1.5 wt %, Cu 2.5 wt.% 에서 최적 발광 휘도를 보이며, 100 V-400 Hz 에서 약 $12cd/cm^2$이였다.

Preparation of Green-Light Emitting BAM:Mn Phosphor Particles by High Temperature Spray Pyrolysis (고온 분무열분해 공정에 의한 녹색 발광의 BAM:Mn 형광체 합성)

  • Green-light emitting $BaMgAl_{10}O_{19}:Mn^{2+}$ (BAM:Mn) phosphor particles were prepared by spray Pyrolysis. The effect of reactor temperature and flow rate of carrier gas in the spray Pyrolysis on the morphology, crystallinity and photoluminescence characteristics under vacuum ultraviolet were investigated. The morphology of the as-Prepared Particles obtained by spray Pyrolysis had spherical shape and non-aggregation characteristics regardless of the reactor temperature. The spherical shape of the as-prepared Particles obtained by spray pyrolysis at low temperature disappeared after Post-treatment. On the other hand the as-Prepared Particles obtained by spray Pyrolysis at $1600^{\circ}C$ maintained spherical shape and non-aggregation characteristics after post-treatment at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 3 h under reducing atmosphere. The BAM:Mn Phosphor Particles Prepared by spray Pyrolysis at different reactor temperatures had pure crystal structure and high photoluminescence intensities under vacuum ultraviolet after post-treatment. BAM:Mn phosphor particles prepared by spray Pyrolysis at low How rate of carrier gas had complete spherical shape and filed morphology and high photoluminescence intensity after post-treatment under reducing atmosphere.

Optimization of Barium Titanate Slip for Tape Casting Using Design of Experiments

  • A full-factorial design of experiments with three input factors and two levels for each factor including center points was utilized for the preparation and characterization of twelve types of $BaTiO_3$ slips for tape casting. Ceramic powders with different particle sizes, different milling methods such as high energy milling and conventional ball milling, and two types of dispersant with different polymeric species were chosen as input factors in order to investigate their effects on slip and on green tape properties. Tape casting, a small rectangular-shaped K-square preparation, characterization and quantitative data analysis using statistical software were followed. Ceramic powder was the most significant among three input factors for the output responses of slip viscosity and green tape density, showing more favorable results with large particles than with very fine ones. In addition, high energy milling for only 30 min was more efficient than 24h of conventional ball milling in terms of powder dispersion and milling. The optimum condition based on the experimental results was a slip exposed to high energy milling with large ceramic particles along with a methylethyl acetate dispersant.

Implementation of real-time optical pattern recognition system using a photorefractive correlator with improved shift-invariant property (변이불변 특성이 개선된 광굴절 상관기를 이용한 실시간 광 패턴인식 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, a new input method is proposed to improve shift-invariant property of a photorefractive correlator andwe implemented real-time optical pattern recognition system using it. In the conventional photorefractive correlator, it is vrey difficult to satisfy the Bragg condition in the pattern recognition process. So, correlation peak is decreased heavily for the shift of input image. If a liquid crystal television(LCTV) without an anlyzer is used as input device, we can get the correlation result regardless of shift of input image because beam path is not changed during storage of holographic filter and correlation process. Also recording time of a holographic matched filter in photorefractive crystal is reduced and the correlation peak is increased because incident beam on the LCTV is transmitted completely. Therefore total optical efficiency is improved. We compared and analyzed the correlation results of proposed photorefractive correlator by computer simulation and optical experiment. We used a BaTiO$_{3}$ single crystal which has high diffraction efficiency in optical experiment.

The relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tunability of the BSCT(50/40/10) specimen, which was sintered at 1420$^{\circ}C$ and measured at 1MHz, were about 910, 0.46% and 9.28% at 5㎸/cm, respectively.

Analysis of Decoupling Capacitor for High Frequency Systems

  • In this paper a embedded decoupling capacitor design with gap structure will be discussed. A novel structure is modeling and analization by High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). Proposed capacitor have $2m{\times}2m$ in rectangular shape. The film thickness of copper/dielectric film/substrate is respectively 35um/20um/35um. A dielectric layer of BaTiO3/epoxy has the relative permittivity of 25. Compare of the planar decoupling capacitor, capacitance densities of this structure in the range of $55{\mu}F$/mm2 have been obtained with 50um gap while capacitance densities of planar structure $55{\mu}F$/mm2 in the same size. The frequency dependent behavior of capacitors is numerically extracted over a wide frequency bandwidth 500MHz-7GHz. The decoupling capacitor can work at high frequency band increasing the gap size.

  • The degradation characteristics of R, G, B phosphor layers in AC-PDP, which is due to the discharge of plasma, are still unknown. For the successful commercialization of AC-PDP, the degradation of phosphor layers, caused by the plasma discharge must be investigated and improved. In this paper, the degradation properties of phosphor layers in AC-$PDP_S$ are investigated. It takes long time to investigate the degradation in real condition, so that the device for accelerating the degradation is devised. To prove the performance of the device, the visible emission characteristics of phosphor layers and discharge with the environmental temperature are examined. As a result, it is shown that the phosphor layers are easily degraded when the discharge is sustained under high environmental temperature condition. After accelerating the degradation of blue Phosphor layer((Ba,Eu)Mg$AI_10$$O_17$) for 48 hours, its luminance decreases about 38 % and the corresponding color purity deteriorates severely.

  • Lamination of coated conductor is important to commercialize for electrical stabilizer and mechanical support. It should be known the properties of soldering interface and the variation of superconductivity on coated conductor with various kinds of solders. $SmBa_2Cu_O_x$ thin films were deposited by co-evaporation method (EDDC, Evaporation using Drum in Dual Chambers). 4 kinds of solders were used to investigate interface properties of SmBCO conductors. In-Bi solder could maintain good connection.
