cis-Diamminedichloroplatinum(II) (CDDP)에 의한 불루텅 바이러스 이중가닥 RNA의 구조변화 (CDDP induces conformational changes in BTV ds RNA rather than forming protein-protein and/or protein-RNA crosslink)

  • CDDP는 $100\;{\mu}M$ 이하의 농도에서 BTV 캡시드 단백질에 crosslink를 형성하지 않는다. 밀도구배초원심분리 결과에 의하면 캡시드 단백질과 RNA사이의 crosslink도 일어나지 않는다. CDDP를 처리한 BTV RNA를 폴리아크릴아마이드 겔에 전기연동하면 RNA이동 패턴이 변한다. 이 결과는 BTV core에 없는 RNA중합효소의 불활성화가 CDDP에 의한 BNA RNA의 구조변화에 의함을 가리킨다.

Test of Insecticidal Efficacy of Some Commercial Natural Products against Trialeurodes vaporariorum(Homoptera : Aleyrodidae), Bemisia tabaci(Homoptera : Aleyrodidae), and Spodoptera litura(Lepidoptera : Noctuidae)

  • The greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood) and the sweet potato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) are serious insect pests that have a wide host range including cucumber, tomato, and pepper. In this study, we tested larvicidal efficacy of several on-the-market environment-friendly agricultural materials (EFAM) to select the effective products after the target pests were stabilized in indoor rearing condition. The developmental periods of two whiteflies are as follows: in the case of T. vaporariorum, egg duration is 9.6 days and nymph is 18.9 days, and in the case of B. tabaci, egg duration is 7.4 days and nymph is 15.2 days under $25^{\circ}C$ with relative humidity (RH) of $60{\pm}5%$ and a photoperiod of 16 L:8D. The total period of T. vaporariorum was 5 days longer than B. tabaci. Among 22 EFAMs six products showed more than 60% of insecticide efficacy against T. vaporariorum BTV B, BTV D, BTV G, BTV L, BTV M, and BTV S. On the other hand, seven EFAM products showed over 60% of insecticide efficacy against B. tabaci BTV D, BTV G, BTV K, BTV L, BTV M, BTV N, and BTV U. In the case of Spodptera litura previously, 16 EFAMs were tested against $2^{nd}$ instar S. litura, and six EFAMs were found to have more than 90% efficacy. Test of these six EFAMs against entire larval stages were performed in this study. Although some of these products showed still more than 90% of insecticidal efficacy against up to $3^{rd}$ instar larvae, the efficacy of these EFAMs sharply decreased as ages increase, resulting in less than 60% of efficacy of the products at most. This result indicates the difficulty to control S. litura with the on-the-market EFAMs alone under economic injury level. Collectively, it is required to find more EFAMs, and find alternative method, and combined way of controlling to control those insect pests tested in this study.

CDDP를 처리한 Bluetongue Virus Core의 전사저해 (cis-Diamminedichloroplatinum (II) (CDDP) Inhibits Bluetongue Virus (BTV) Core Associated Transcriptase Activity)

  • The BTV core associated transcriptase activity, assayed by acid precipitable counts, was reduced to an undetectable level after treat the core with .$100{\mu}{\M}$ CDDP. When the RNA transcripts prepared from the CDDP treated BTV core were analysed on agaroseurea gel, it was observed that the band intensity of the large size RNA was reduced while the band intensity of the small size RNA was enhanced. Northern blot analysis showed that much of the small size RNAs appeared to be prematurely terminated transcripts. These results suggest that CDDP adduction to the template RNA blocks chain elongation process of the virion bound transcriptase that is ultimately responsible for the inactivation of BTV infectivity.

수입 소의 검역검사 수준에 따른 블루텅 검출 확률 비교 (Comparison of Probability of Detecting Bluetongue in Quarantine Testing for the Imported Cattle with Special Focus on the Sampling Scenario)

  • In view of free from bluetongue (BT) in the domestic cattle population in Korea, the key of quarantine testing for BT virus (BTV) infection is detection of cattle previously exposed to the virus. The objective of this study was to estimate the probability of detecting a cattle infected with BTV using a stochastic modeling analysis of existing quarantine testing data. Three testing scenarios were considered in this study: serological testing of all animals in all imported lots (scenario 1), serological testing of a sample of cattle from all imported lots (scenario 2), and serological testing of 50% of imported lots (scenario 3). In scenario 2 and 3, it was assumed that cattle were sampled (sample size) within each lot to detect 5% of the cattle in each lot with a 95% confidence, taking into account diagnostic sensitivity of the ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay). The model output was the total number of BTV-infected cattle and the prevalence of BTV infection in imported cattle from the US, Australia, Canada and Japan. Compared to the scenario 1, the probability of detecting a BTV-infected cattle was estimated to be 19% and 1.6% in scenario 2 and 3, respectively. Furthermore, the analyses showed a 95% confidence that BTV prevalence was less or equal to $9.7{\times}10^{-4}$ (median = $1.5{\times}10^{-5}$), indicating that, for the scenario 2 and 3 with serological testing for a sample of cattle, the risk of introducing an exotic strain of BTV into Korea through the importation of live cattle would not be acceptable.

브레이크 저더 저감을 위한 전달계 최적 설계 (The Optimal Design of Suspension Module for Brake Judder Reduction)

  • The brake judder comes from non-uniformities in the tire/wheel assembly caused by mechanical effects such as a brake torque variation (BTV). A disc thickness variation (DTV) related with the kinematic behavior of the disc was investigated a main source of BTV. In this study, a dynamic model with brake corner assembly of full vehicle using MSC.ADAMS was correlated by experiment of judder phenomenon. Judder was generated and correlated systematically by judder experiment in chassis and brake dynamometer from variation in the thickness of the disc. Also it has been found a judder transfer path and variation of the braking pressure. Through analysis of transfer function and movement of subsystem caused by BTV generation, design parameters have been found. Based on the results obtained from parameter study of suspension module, the effective design process and developed model with brake corner assembly was suggested for vibration reduction of steering wheel caused by the judder phenomenon.

졸-겔법으로 성장시킨 바나듐이 도핑된 ${Bi_4}{Ti_3}{O_{12}}$ 박막의 미세구조 및 전기적 특성 (Microstructure and Electrical Properties of Vanadium-doped ${Bi_4}{Ti_3}{O_{12}}$ Thin Films Prepared by Sol-gel Method)

  • $Bi_{3.99}Ti_{2.97}V_{0.03}O_{12}$ (BTV) thin films with 3 mol% vanadium doping were Prepared on $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si$ substrate by sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that single-phase layered perovskite were obtained and preferred orientation was not observed. Under the annealing temperature at $600^{\circ}C$, the surface morphology of the BTV thin films had fine-rounded particles and then changed plate-like at $650^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$. The remanent polarization $(2P_r)$ and coercive field $(2E_c)$ of $700^{\circ}C$ annealed BTV thin film were 25 $\mu$C/cm$^2$ and 116 kV/cm, respectively. In addition, BTV thin film showed little polarization fatigue during $10_9$ switching cycles. These improved ferroelectric properties were attributed to the increased rattling space and reduced oxygen vacancies by substitution $Ti^{4+}$ ion (68 pm) with smaller $V^{5+}$ ion (59 pm). The dielectric constant and loss were measured 130 and 0.03 at 10 kHz, respectively.

중형 버스의 브레이크 저더 현상 개선에 대한 해석적 고찰 (Analytical Study in Brake Judder Reduction of Medium Bus)

  • Brake judder, one of low Sequency vibrations in brake system is determined by the excitation of Brake Torque Variation (BTV). The largest contributor to BTV is disc thickness variation. In this study, the static loads of brake torque at Suspension Mounting Points (SW) are obtained by the quasi-static analysis using DADS. The dynamic loads with frequency of BTV at SW are derived from correlation between forced vibration analysis with static loads and brake test results. And the accelerations at steering wheel were analyzed by forced vibration analysis with dynamic loads using commercial finite element program MSC/NASTRAN so that vibration characteristics of vehicle due to brake judder were investigated. Reliability of analysis results was verified through comparing the brake test results. Also, a parametric study with natural frequencies of frame, such as the 1st torsional mode and 1st bending mode, was conducted to reduce vibration amplitudes. As a result we could detect frame natural frequency conditions to improve vibration characteristics and obtained the frame model to reduce vibration amplitude.

실차 상태에서의 제동시 이상떨림 현상에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Brake Judder of Braking on Vehicle)

  • The study presents a new testing and analysis method for brake judder on vehicle. For the identification of the excitation mechanism of a brake judder, it is necessary to measure the dynamic brake disc geometry during braking on vehicle. The non-contact sensor system was used to monitor the brake disc geometry. Brake torque variation (BTV) caused by disc thickness variation (DTV) is the primary excitation for brake judder. The mechanical effects generating BTV are linked not only to initial manufacturing tolerances but also to uneven wear. Therefore, the brake disc geometry should be strictly managed to initial condition. The aim of this study has been to measure the dynamic DTV and runout on vehicle and analyze the influence of test parameters on brake judder and compare the disc component with vehicle matching about the DTV Profile. As a result of this study, The amplitude of brake judder is proportional to vehicle speed and fluid pressure fluctuation on braking. The major sources of brake judder are directly related to disc thickness variation and side runout variation of corner assembly (disc, hub. bearing).

  • The RNA transcripts produced from in vitro transcription reaction of BTV core were analyzed on agarose-urea gel. Fast migrating abortive RNAs, in addition to full length species of RNA, were observed. Fast migrating RNAs extracted from agarose-urea gel were hybridized to all 10 segments of genomic ds RNA, while solw migrating RNAs extracted from agarose-urea gel were hybridized only to the large and medium size genomic ds RNA. These results indicate that fast migrating RNA transcripts are most likely the products of abortive transcription.

MAP 예측기 기반의 시공간 동영상 순차주사화 알고리즘 (Spatio-Temporal Video De-interlacing Algorithm Based on MAP Estimation)

  • 본 논문은 MAP (maximum a posterior) 예측기에 기반하여 움직임 보상 예측 오차를 보정해주는 방식의 순차주사화 (de-interlacing) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 먼저, 현재 필드와 인접한 필드 간의 적절한 정합 (registration)을 수행 한 후, 계산된 정합 정보에 기반한 MAP 예측기를 통해 현재 필드에 대응하는 순차 주사 (progressive) 프레임을 찾아낸다. 안정적인 결과를 얻기 위하여 잘 알려진 BTV (bilateral total variation) 기반의 평활화 (regularization) 과정이 추가된다. 한편, 잘못된 정합 정보로 인한 소위 깃털 현상 (feathering artifact)을 억제하기 위하여 블록 단위로 깃털 현상 발생 여부를 판단하여 발생되었다고 판단된 블록 영역에 대해서는 앞서 설명한 MAP기반 순차주사화 대신 에지 방향성에 기반한 공간적 순차주사화를 적용한다. 실험 결과에 따르면, 제안된 기법은 종래 기법들에 비하여 평균 약 4dB의 PSNR 성능 개선을 보이고 있으며, 우수한 주관적 화질을 보여주고 있다.
