  • Anyang Stream including its main branch is the biggest branch stream of Han River in Korea. The geological and geomorphological characteristics were investigated to the affected area of Anyang Stream, in which rainfall characteristic was analyzed. The water quality surveyed that the analysis of water pollution used to biotic index and biological water pollution. The rainfall pattern in this area was like to that of typical Korea, but the rate of trigger and runoff during summer season(June~August) is more higher than mean of Korea. Before 2003, a dried stream is severe status, which was due to abundant runoff, but this status are improved. After 1997, water quality of stream is recovering status such as water pollution of stream steeply decreased. Especially after 2003, this trend is more quickly improved. Although, owing to the increasing of a T-N and SS at upstream wastewater were due to bad collection of industrial factories, livestock's and mans living, the water quality worsted at upstream. Water quality in total section of main stream was severely contaminated that water-quality limit is 5 with polysaprobic by water self-purification. That of main branch was 1~3limits with ${\alpha}$- and ${\beta}$-mesosaprobic in Anyang city area, But water quality in all area about another branch of Anyang stream except Anyang city area was almost under of 3 grades. Though trying of Anyang city for recover movement(completion of 2nd Sewage Treatment Plant and Water supply pipe system) on Anyang stream, water pollution states of upper branch in Anyang stream was not better than its of 2002 because it may be difference of control area on other cities.

  • XML message brokers have a lot of importance because XML has become a practical standard for data exchange in many applications. Message brokers covered in this document store many users. This paper is a study of the processing of twig pattern queries in XML documents using branching node streams in XML message broker structures. This work is about query processing in XML documents, especially for query processing with XML twig patterns in the XML message broker structure and proposed a method to reduce query processing time when parsing documents with XML twig patterns by processing information. In this paper, the twig pattern query processing method of documents using the branching node stream removes the twigging value of the branch node that does not include the labeling value of the branch node stream when it receives a twig query from the client. In this paper, the leaf node discovery time can be reduced by reducing the navigation time of nodes in XML documents that are matched to leaf nodes in twig queries for client twig queries. Overall, the overall processing time to respond to queries is reduced, allowing for rapid question-answer processing.

  • This study examines the dilution-dispersion phenomen in the main stream when a polluted branch stream flows into it. A hydraulic model was used for it. As the discharge of the main stream and the branch one were changing, the qualitative dispersion, the stream regimen, the velocity of the flow and the hydraulic properties were observed. It was found that the faster the velocity was and the greater the flow discharge ratio was, the more dilution-dispersion phenomenon occurred. And as the velocity of the flow was increasing, so was the longitudinal dispersion velocity. But the transverse dispersion velocity was relatively reduced. Therefore, it is concluded that the dispersion by the distribution of velocity is increased.

  • Recently check dam construction number have been increased by becoming known that effectiveness in the control of the landslide and debris flow. However, check dam management standards are not setting yet. Therefore, this study was carried by provide a basic data for the check dam management and inspection in the Gangwondo. The followings are the results of safety inspection on the 274 check dams, which are located in mountain streams, Gangwondo, Republic of Korea. 1. It was determined that, of 274 check dams inspected, 267 check dams (97.4%) generally had a safe condition but 7 check dams (2.6%) had a bad condition that repair and/or complementary measures are required. 2. The check dams with a bad condition had the ages greater than approximately 20 years. This result should be reflected to future stream management strategy including a timing of the specific inspection for durability of check dams. 3. Our finding suggests that the safety inspection of check dams is able to provide basic information required to maintain their own functions, and thus it should be widely applied to stream management strategy against to sediment-related disasters in the future.

  • As part of the waterway restoration to renew traditional urban area, this paper is to assume and research Gyoseocheon(Gyoseo waterway) in Late 1960s Cheongju Korea. The main stream of Gyoseocheon flew from Sangjwagol(the head of the valley) of Uam Mt. to the north gate under Cheongju castle at first, and meandering from Sangdang Park, flew through Sudongseongdang and Bangadari Road to Musimcheon since open railroad of 1920s. This waterway, the eco-friendly figure of Gyoseocheon, that flew to inside the downtown with a planted tree and that is open space was so. The sub stream of Gyoseocheon originated in Seoundong and Tapdong were divided into two parts. One was to join the main stream of Gyoseocheon on Sangdang Park via Munhwadong, and the other was to join the sub stream of Musimcheon at northwest corner via south and west gate of Cheongju castle. This waterway as branch sewer were built into the road culvert.

  • This study was carried out to apply the method of priority order selection for water quality improvement of watershed. The monitoring of flow and water quality, grouping branch streams and discharge load density were estimated on 18 branch streams located in middle and lower area of Geum River, Chungcheongnam-do. Based on average BOD concentration of stream at low flow, the results of the water quality analysis of stream which excess river living standard class 2 (less than BOD 3 mg/L) are Jeongancheon, Bangchukcheon, Gilsancheon, Jocheon, Seokseongcheon and Ganggyeongcheon. As a result of grouping stream, stream that have more than $10\;m^3/min$ of flow and more than 3.0 mg/L of average BOD concentration such as Group A are Jocheon, Seokseongcheon, Ganggyeongcheon and Jeongancheon. In Group A, stream corresponds to over than discharge load density as of 10 BOD kg/$day{\cdot}km^2$ is Jocheon, Seokseongcheon and Ganggyeongcheon. In view of the selected results to improve water quality basin through monitoring of flow and water quality, grouping stream, and estimation of discharge load density, Jocheon in Yeongi, Seokseongcheon located on the border of Buyeo and Nonsan, Ganggyeongcheon on Nonsan such as stream basin were urgent to improve water quality.

  • In this study, we have investigated the water quality and flow rate at the 3 sites of main stream and 11 sites of the branch stream of Hwang River from January, 2007 to 2010, and analyzed the effects on Hwang River with the purpose of using the data for as the fundamental information for water quality improvement and water resource management in the water system of Hap-Cheon Lake Upper Stream. The flow rate at 3 sites of the main stream and 11 sites of the branch stream increased during the rainy season between June and September, and continuously decreased during the dry season starting from autumn to winter. The results of correlation analysis with Pearson correlation coefficient showed that $BOD_5$ and $COD_{Mn}$, $BOD_5$ and T-P, and $COD_{Mn}$ and TSS at the 3 sites of the main stream had high correlation with each other. We have also analyzed the correlation between Chl-a and major factors at the 3 sites of the main stream. Chl-a and the water temperature Negative correlation coefficient and that of Chl-a and $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$ Positive correlation coefficient showed. The N/P ratio at all the 3 sites of the main stream was higher than 16 by DIN/DIP and T-N/T-P, indicating that phosphorus is acting as the limited nutrient.

Abstract There is wide agreement that one of the most important impediments to the performance of current and future pipelined superscalar processors is the presence of conditional branches in the instruction stream. Accurate branch prediction is required to overcome this performance limitation. Many branch predictors have been proposed to help to alleviate this problem, including the two-level adaptive branch predictor, and more recently, hybrid branch predictor. In a less idealized environment, such as a time-sharing system, code of interest involves context switches. Context switches, even at fairly large intervals, can seriously degrade the performance of many of the most accurate branch prediction schemes. In this study, we measure the effect of context switch on the branch prediction accuracy in various situation and show the feasibility of our new mechanism, OPTS(Overlapped Predictor Table Switch), which save and restore branch history table at every context switch.
