Pulmonary Function Tests of Athletes (각종(各種) 운동선수(運動選手)의 폐기능검사성적(肺機能檢査成績))

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the pulmonary function tests of athletes related to Running, Swimming, Cycle, Taekwando, Wrestling, Boxing, Yudo, Badminton, Base-ball, Soccer, Hand-ball, Basket-ball and Volley-ball. Subjects were 269 athletes from 18 to 22 years of age. They were college students and citizens. The results are as follows: 1) Frequency of breath: (cycles/min., $M{\pm}S.D$) Running shows $13{\pm}3.6$, Swimming $12{\pm}3.2$, Cycle $13{\pm}3.4$, Taekwondo $12{\pm}4.0$, Wrestling $14{\pm}2.5$, Boxing $15{\pm}4.5$, Yudo $13{\pm}3.2$, Badminton $14{\pm}5.7$, Base-ball $15{\pm}6.2$, Soccer $13{\pm}2.5$, Hand-ball $14{\pm}2.5$, Basket-ball $12{\pm}5.6$, Volley-ball $12{\pm}4.2$(Table 2, Fig. 1). 2) Vital capacity: (1, $M{\pm}S.D$) Running shows $4.29{\pm}0.634$, Swimming $4.30{\pm}0.608$, Cycle $4.08{\pm}0.718$, Taekwondo $4.32{\pm}0.595$, Wrestling $4.40{\pm}0.663$, Boxing $4.45{\pm}0.779$, Yudo $4.58{\pm}0.389$, Badminton $3.98{\pm}0.556$, Base-ball $3.99{\pm}0.617$, Soccer $4.42{\pm}0.728$, Hand-ball $4.23{\pm}0.397$, Basket-ball $4.28{\pm}0.426$, Volley-ball $4.60{\pm}0.620$(Table 2, Table 3, Fig. 2). 3) Tidal volume: (ml, $M{\pm}S.D$) Running shows $615{\pm}180$, Swimming $603{\pm}121$, Cycle $529{\pm}189$, Taekwondo $726{\pm}112$, Wrestling $512{\pm}90$, Boxing$622{\pm}134$, Yudo $583{\pm}89$, Badminton $672{\pm}121$, Base-ball $714{\pm}97$, Soccer $579{\pm}89$, Hand-ball $507{\pm}69$, Basket-ball $628{\pm}133$, Volley-ball $597{\pm}144$(Table 2, Fig.3). 4) Breath holding time : (sec., $M{\pm}S.D$) Running shows $64{\pm}18.8$, Swimming $81{\pm}23.0$, Cycle $54{\pm}13.6$, Taekwondo $55{\pm}11.8$, Wrestling $78{\pm}12.5$, Boxing $63{\pm}9.6$, Yudo $71{\pm}14.4$, Badminton $62{\pm}9.8$, Base-ball $58{\pm}8.9$, Soccer $65{\pm}10.9$, Hand-ball $66{\pm}7.6$, Basket-ball $62{\pm}8.8$, Volley-ball $57{\pm}13.4$(Table 2, Fig.4).

The Effect of Boxing Aerobic Exercise Training on Heart Rate Variability in Rest (복싱에어로빅 운동이 안정 시 심박수변이도에 미치는 영향)

  • The Purpose of this study was to examine the effects of boxing aerobic training on resting heart rate variability (HRV) in females. The subjects for this study were performed 16 female college students that aged 19-23. The subjects were divided into two groups; boxing aerobic exercise group (9 students) and control group (7 students). Boxing aerobic training program was performed three times a week for twelve weeks with $VO_{2max}$ 60-80% exercise intensity. The results of this study were following; 1. Mean HRT (mean heart rate) had no signigicant difference among the groups and exercise time. 2. SDNN (standard deviation of the normal to normal interval) had no significant difference among the group and exercise time. 3. RMS-SD (square root of the mean squared differences of successive normal to normal interval) had no significant difference among the groups and exercise time. 4. TP (total power) had no significant difference among the groups and exercise time. 5. LF (low frequency) had no significant difference among the groups and exercise time. 6. HF (high frequency) had no significant difference among the groups and exercise time. 7. LF/HF (low frequence/high frequency ratio) had no significant difference among the groups and exercise time. 8. VLF (very low frequency) had no significant difference among the groups and exercise time.

The Case Study of A Kinematic Analysis of the Right-Straight Punch in Korean National Representative Boxers (복싱 국가대표선수 라이트 스트레이트 펀치 동작의 Kinematic 특성분석-사례연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the kinematic variables of the right-straight punch(RSP) in boxing with three-dimensional analysis technical methods. The subjects are boxers who have been playing in national boxing representative team and the RSP is their special favorite technique, The right-straight punches were filmed on 16mm video cameras(30frames/sec.) The kinematic variables were temporal, postural and center of gravity(COG). The mean and the standard deviation of variables have been obtained and used as basic factors for examining characteristics of the RSP by out-boxers. From the data analysis and discussion, the following conclusions have been drawn. 1) Temporal variables It is a significant characteristic that LDJ and KDM s' the amount of elapsed time(EF) needed for both an attack and a defense were similar : ET for stretch-out of attack-arm was $0.52{\pm}0.04\;sec$. and return was $0.54{\pm}0.01\;sec$. Therefore, a defense motion is as important as an attack motion. 2) Posture variables When the subjects performed a RSP, the significant characteristic of the ankle angle was that it wasn't completely returned to the original position after stretching-out. Therefore it is necessary to do supplementary exercises, such as side steps, to move the center of gravity more effectively. The hee angle was not fully stretched either. In regard to the hip angle, it should be rotated with all strength to harmonize with the direction of movement. 3) Center of Gravity(COG) variables When both LDJ and KDM performed a RSP, a significant characteristic was the transformation of sagittal view rather than transverse or frontal views.

Study on the Five Mimic-Animal Boxing by the "three barrier in the back" of Donguibogam (동의보감(東醫寶鑑) 배유삼관(背有三關)으로 살펴본 화타오금희(華陀五禽戲) 동작 연구 - 예비세(豫備勢)에서 녹운척미(鹿運脊尾)-)

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the movements of Five Mimic-Animal Boxing(FAB) by the "three barrier in the back" of Donguibogam. The subject of this study is observation of the movements of FAB according to practice. The term of training FAB is two years and six months. By the theory of "three barrier in the back" in Donguibogam, we analyzed the movements of FAB. The standard of judgement was the union of the basic point in the arm and leg & the action point in three barrier in the back. The study results were as follows. The movements of FAB operated on the three barrier in the back. The preliminary exercise operated on one, two, trree barrier in the back. And moreover the remainder exercise operated on one, two, trree barrier in the back. The movements of FAB operated on the three barrier in the back for the circulation of vital essence and energy. FAB is the very important Gigong exercise on opening the three barrier in the back.

Study of Interrelationship in Five Mimic-Animal Boxing and Viscera (방생도인(仿生導引) 오금희(五禽戱)와 장부(臟腑)와의 상관성 연구)

  • Five mimic-animal boxing(五禽戱, FAB) is physical fitness exercises conducted by imitating the motions of tiger, deer, bear, monkey, and bird, devised by the famous doctor Hwa-Ta(華陀) in the Three Kingdoms of China. FAB is one of bionic-physical and breathing exercises(傍生導引) by combined automassage as a practice for health care. Although FAB have effects of health control and medical treatment, but interrelationship of five animals(五禽) of FAB and five viscera(五臟) of five elements(五行) is complicated. So, the present was designed to investigate the progress of FAB, movement-feature of FAB, and the interrelationship of five animals and five viscera. further I will develop value by sports-treatment medicine in oriental medicine. The results were as follows ; FAB is physical exercises of dynamic exercises and new-dynamic exercises. Feature of China-FAB have each movement by imitating the motions of each animals, movements of Formosa-FAB were mixed. In philosophical viewpoint, Five animals (tiger, deer, bear, monkey, bird) were attached to metal, wood, water, earth, fire of five elements, and lung, liver, kidney, spleen, heart of five viscera. In viewpoint of breathing exercises, Five animals (tiger, deer, bear, monkey, bird) were attached to water, wood, earth, fire, metal of five elements, and kidney, liver, spleen, heart, lung of five viscera. Although FAB have effects of health control and medical treatment, FAB have indication and contraindication. Therefore, I think that mechanism of treatment should reason with Oriental medicine doctor in FAB.

The Effect of Using Standing Step Condition on Biomechanical Variables during Jab in Boxing (복싱 잽(jab) 동작 시 제자리 스텝의 사용이 운동역학적 변인에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using standing step condition on biomechanical variables during jab in boxing. For this purpose, eight orthodox type college boxers(age = 20.38±0.52 yrs, height = 172.38±5.80 cm, body mass = 63.45±8.56 kg, career = 6.00±1.07 yrs) who without injury to the musculoskeletal system participated in the experiment over the last year. In order to verify the effect of biomechanical variables using standing step during jab in boxing, the paired t-test (α = .05) statistical method was used. First, W.S(with-step) showed a greater impact force than N.S(non-step), and muscle activity was analyzed to be low. Second, it was analyzed that the pelvis and foot segments move faster because W.S affects the velocity of the anterior segment of the human body. Third, the rotational movement of the pelvis was faster in W.S. Fourth, W.S was analyzed to have greater ground reaction force in the anterior caused by the right and left foot than N.S. Through this, it was found that the use of the standing step during jab increases the ground reaction force the velocity and rotational movement of the human segment. Therefore, it was confirmed that it allowed a faster and more agile movement, and thus produces a greater impact force with relatively less muscle activity. Therefore, in order to effectively deliver a greater impact force to the opponent during the jab, it was effectively analyzed to accompany the standing step.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the perfectionism tendency of amateur boxers and exercise exhaustion, to understand the perfectionism tendency of boxers in the sports of speculative sports, and to provide startigic insights for reducing exercise exhaustion. Research design, data, and methodology: In this study, adult boxers registered with the Korean Boxing Association of the Korea Sports Council in 2019 were selected as the research population. 280 boxers participated in the survey and responded the survey items, which were constructed by research variables, perfectionism and burnout. Data were analysed using SPSS version 18.0 for statistics. In details, frequency, correlations, exploratory factor analysis, multiple regressions were conducted to test the proposed relationship. Results: As a result of analysing the relationship between amateur boxers' perfectionism and athletic exhaustion, it was con-firmed that when the self-oriented perfectionism among amateur boxers' perfectionist tendencies was high, it had a significant effect on exercise burnout. Conclusions: In order to reduce the pressure of amateur boxers to win and the pressure to pass through the weight class, which is characteristic of weight control events, if the athlete manages himself well, the athlete's exercise exhaustion will decrease. If professional mental training is combined, it is judged that amateur boxing will be able to develop once again.

  • With the development of game technology, the realistic game graphics, interface technology, and various content services with immersion are being required in the content area. NUI has been developed through CLI and GUI. Unlike the conventional methods, it is an interface that could be the intuitive and realistic interface for human as a natural action realized. we propose a boxing simulation game using leap motion of it. Providing a realistic 3D experimental environment through VR headsets game, we also propose a method that can be calculated the scores if the user-controlled interface (fist) could be to punch the target (sandbag) of the internal in accordance with changes of the angle of target impact with the physical characteristics.

Exploring the Effectiveness of GAN-based Approach and Reinforcement Learning in Character Boxing Task (캐릭터 복싱 과제에서 GAN 기반 접근법과 강화학습의 효과성 탐구)

  • For decades, creating a desired locomotive motion in a goal-oriented manner has been a challenge in character animation. Data-driven methods using generative models have demonstrated efficient ways of predicting long sequences of motions without the need for explicit conditioning. While these methods produce high-quality long-term motions, they can be limited when it comes to synthesizing motion for challenging novel scenarios, such as punching a random target. A state-of-the-art solution to overcome this limitation is by using a GAN Discriminator to imitate motion data clips and incorporating reinforcement learning to compose goal-oriented motions. In this paper, our research aims to create characters performing combat sports such as boxing, using a novel reward design in conjunction with existing GAN-based approaches. We experimentally demonstrate that both the Adversarial Motion Prior [3] and Adversarial Skill Embeddings [4] methods are capable of generating viable motions for a character punching a random target, even in the absence of mocap data that specifically captures the transition between punching and locomotion. Also, with a single learned policy, multiple task controllers can be constructed through the TimeChamber framework.
