항만시설의 생애주기 업무 지원을 위한 BIM 표준 프레임워크 구축 (A Standardized BIM Framework for Supporting Life-cycle Business Process for Port & Harbour Facilities)

  • Recently, the application of BIM for port & harbour facilities has been increasing, as it is widely applied to the infrastructure field both at domestic and abroad. However, the port and harbour projects still have very poor facilities information management system and the application level of BIM is very low compared to other facilities. Even if BIM is applied for those project, it is very difficult to determine in advance what information is needed without an accurate understanding of the business process. The purpose of this study is to develop a BIM framework for port & harbour facilities and to examine its applicability. To do this, we structured the classification of the port & harbour facilities and constructed object-based classification system based on ISO12006-3 standard. We also derived the BIM framework requirements from the viewpoint of process, standard, interface, and information, and confirmed the linkage of the BIM object classification system in the framework item. The applicability of the BIM framework for inspection process cases of port & harbour was examined. Accordingly, this study can solve requirement setting method, which is the non - procedural and non - systematic project information, in the BIM application process of the port & harbour project with the BIM framework. In addition, the framework is expected to be integrated into the system to play a key role in the selection of project objectives, and the ability to clearly identify the information requirements required by the BIM manager to perform the project.

온톨로지 BIM 기반 지식 서비스 프레임웍 아키텍처 개발 (Ontology BIM-based Knowledge Service Framework Architecture Development)

  • Recently, the demand for connection between various heterogeneous dataset and BIM as a construction data model hub is increasing. In the past, in order to connect model between BIM and heterogeneous dataset, related dataset was stored in the RDBMS, and the service was provided by programming a method to link with the BIM object. This approach causes problems such as the need to modify the database schema and business logic, and the migration of existing data when requirements change. This problem adversely affects the scalability, reusability, and maintainability of model information. This study proposes an ontology BIM-based knowledge service framework considering the connectivity and scalability between BIM and heterogeneous dataset. Through the proposed framework, ontology BIM mapping, semantic information query method for linking between knowledge-expressing dataset and BIM are presented. In addition, to identify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the prototype is developed. Also, the effectiveness and considerations of the ontology BIM-based knowledge service framework are derived.

BIM 정보프레임워크 기반의 토목구조물 정보모델링 표준화방안 (Standardization of Infrastructure Information Modeling based on BIM Information Framework)

  • Although there have been a lot of BIM R&Ds in the civil engineering and their applications to the real projects, BIM in the field is still known to be behind the other areas. One of the reasons for this should be that the civil projects is generally too public for private participants to try new technologies, but it is mainly because the projects are so huge and complex that we still have the working environment where the systematic information sharing or exchanging is not smooth enough. In this paper, we are verifying the possibility and proposing the direction of BIM information standardization technology in civil engineering based on the integrated BIM information standard framework. For this purpose, after reviewing the introduction plan for BIM information framework, we applied it to an actual civil structure for test. The implementation result proved that the framework has possibility and effectiveness for the takeoff and construction cost calculation, which confirmed the standard framework needs to be extended consistently. This study is expected to contribute to the standard system establishment and its technology propagation for BIM development in the civil engineering.

  • Purpose: This paper presents a framework development for BIM (Building Information Modeling)-based OOPM (Object-Oriented Physical Modeling) for Building Thermal Simulation. The framework facilitates decision-making in the design process by integrating two object-oriented modeling approaches (BIM and OOPM) and efficiently providing object-based thermal simulation results into the BIM environment. Method: The framework consists of a system interface between BIM and OOPM-based building energy modeling (BEM) and the visualization of simulation results for building designers. The interface enables a BIM models to be translated into OOPM-based BEM automatically and the thermal simulation from the created BEM model immediately. The visualization module enables the simulation results to be presented in BIM for building designers to comprehend the relationships between design decisions and the building performances. For the framework implementation, we utilized the Modelica Buildings Library developed by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a thermal simulation solver. We also conducted an experiment to validate the framework simulation results and demonstrate our framework. Result: This paper demonstrates a new methodology to integrate BIM and OOPM-based BEM for building thermal simulation, which enables an automatic translation BIM into OOPM-based BEM with high efficiency and accuracy.

IFC활용 BIM기반 공정/원가 통합관리 프레임워크 (A Framework Integrating Cost and Schedule based on BIM using IFC)

  • 건설프로젝트 관리 과정에는 수많은 정보가 존재한다. BIM(Building Information Modelling)은 정보전달의 매개체로써 공정 및 원가 정보를 관리하여 4D(3D+Time), 5D(4D+Cost) 시뮬레이션 등 다양한 이익을 얻을 것으로 예상되었다. 그러나 BIM 활용과정에 따른 정보의 연계 문제, BIM 객체기반 공정/원가 정보의 한계, BIM 소프트웨어 호환성 문제 등으로 인해 BIM을 활용한 공정 및 원가정보의 관리는 적극적으로 활용되지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 위의 문제점들을 개선하고자 IFC(Industry Foundation Classes)활용 BIM기반 공정/원가 통합관리 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 먼저, 정보 입력 문제와 정보 표현의 한계점을 개선하기 위해 공간을 최소단위로 공정 및 원가정보를 통합 관리하는 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 데이터 호환성 문제를 해결하기 위해 국제 표준 데이터 포맷인 IFC를 활용하여 앞서 구축한 데이터베이스의 정보와 BIM 소프트웨어를 연계하여 BIM을 기반으로 한 공정/원가 정보의 통합관리를 시도하였다. 이는 BIM기반 공정/원가 통합관리를 위한 정보 처리 프로세스의 기초를 제공하며, 정보 요구에 대한 정확한 이해를 도와 의사소통의 정확성을 향상시켜 BIM기반 공정/원가관리의 효율성을 높일 것으로 예상된다.

  • In the architectural design industry recent BIM system was introduced to the vast amount of information generated by the process, who need it and require the need to manage the construction of information related to production, storage, delivery. In addition, for the project to perform the work involved collaboration between organizations is essential. The purpose of this study was to BIM standard for the system to effectively utilize BIM technology and development of the BIM business support collaboration system, to establish a BIM application environment, a variety of information in the field of architectural design that can be used practically efficient transcription.

  • In order to boost productivity and efficiency of architectural design, architect accumulates materials and details which are repeatedly used. According as introduction and application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) have proliferated, a number of data are being produced. BIM data constructed in a stage of architectural design reduces repetitive works of design and can be used in estimate and construction, maintenance. BIM library gathered these data are able to enhance participants collaboration and design improvement. Library is a vital factor in BIM and a number of libraries are needed as BIM introduction and application have proliferated in architecture industry. However, BIM Library establishment and related research development are incomplete. And specific standard setting and institutional environment for BIM library building have not been achieved. As such a vast amount of information are generated but there is no systematic plan and reuse frequency is low. So it is necessary to build system for effective data sharing and operation management. In this study, through establishment of BIM standard system and construction of management environmental system, it has an object in view for developing framework which can efficiently manage various libraries happened in BIM architectural design field.

  • 최근 건설 프로젝트가 대형화, 복잡화, 전문화되면서 다양한 참여자들 사이에서 발생하는 방대한 양의 정보 활용이 중요해지고 있다. 특히 이러한 정보는 건설프로젝트에서 주도적인 역할을 담당하는 건설현장에서 주로 생산된다. 건설현장 관련 참여자 간 정보 교환의 미흡은 공기지연, 품질하자와 같은 건설생산성 저해 요인을 유발한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 건축물의 전 생애주기 동안에 필요한 데이터를 생산하고 관리하는 프로세스인 BIM(Building Information Modeling)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 그러나 국내에서 BIM의 도입은 주로 설계단계에 집중되어 있으며 시공단계에서 BIM의 활용정도는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 선행연구 고찰을 통하여 골조공사에서 정보 교환의 미비로 인한 실패요인을 구분하고, BIM의 적용이 가능한 업무를 전문가 면담조사를 통하여 도출할 것이다. 그리고 BIM이 도입된 다수의 골조공사 현장의 분석을 통해 업무별 BIM 지원을 위한 참여자간 정보의 흐름을 실무 수준으로 제안하고 이에 따른 기대효과를 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다.

국제표준을 반영한 BIM 협업 프레임워크 개발 (Development of BIM Collaboration Framework Based on ISO 19650)

  • In recent years, the mandatory use of BIM has been actively promoted due to the digital transformation of the construction industry. However, the CDE (Common Data Environment) system, which is an essential element for operating BIM, has not been established in accordance with the domestic situation. To solve this problem, this study analyzed the results of previous studies, including the ISO 19650 standard and domestic CDE system requirements, and developed BIM-based collaboration functions that are suitable for the domestic construction industry through functional analysis of domestic and foreign commercial CDE solutions. And we developed a BIM collaboration framework to provide BIM-based collaboration functions as a service by using cloud technologies such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to provide infrastructure resources flexibly and flexibly. The BIM collaboration framework developed in this study meets most of the CDE requirements of ISO1965, so it can secure competitiveness when bidding for overseas BIM projects. Also, because the BIM collaboration functions can be selectively applied to build a BIM-based collaboration platform, it is expected that the utilization of the BIM collaboration framework will be high, as it can minimize not only the time to build the platform but also the operating costs, and the usability is higher than that of existing commercial BIM CDE solutions.

  • In the situation where there should be a gap between the design environments of 2D drawing and 3D BIM modeling, it is unavoidable aspect to face confusion caused by parallel usage of both technologies unless the project delivery systems are entirely upgraded to 3D. Therefore, it is critical to make efforts to minimize this confusion. Meanwhile, detailed drawings have very important roles in the construction process because they do not only concretely express construction methods for a given design plan but also provide basis for quantity takeoff and construction cost estimation etc. This paper suggests a plan to standardize detailed information based on BIM standard framework in order to make BIM realize the information. In the short term, this plan provides improved environment where both BIM and CAD technologies can be applied and, in the long term, it provides bases for BIM to replace CAD technology.
