The subjects took an oral examination and filled in the questionnaire. Major results from the analysis are as follows: 1. Analysis of Oral Health Behavior For oral health behavior, 38.2% of total subjects had visited a dental hospital (or clinic) in the last one year in the order of the elderly of big cities (48.3%), the elderly of medium cities (43.9%), and the elderly of rural areas (29.0%)(P<0.001). Elderly men had a higher rate than elderly women, and the younger age had a higher rate(P<0.01). For experience of oral prophylaxis, 12.3% of the total elderly had experienced it in the order of the elderly of big cities (18.8%), the elderly of medium cities (16.0%), and the elderly of rural areas (6.4%) (P<0.001). For elderly men, the younger age had a higher rate of oral prophylaxis. The number of toothbrushing in order was twice(47.5%), once (26.7%), three times (25.0%), and none (0.7%). The younger age brushed their teeth more often (P<0.001). 2. Analysis of Oral Health Status The rate of caries was 10.6% of the elderly surveyed. By area, the elderly of rural areas had a higher rate of caries than the elderly of cities (p<0.001) and elderly men were higher than elderly women (p<0.001). By age, many elderly aged over 80 had more than two caries. For missing teeth, the elderly of rural areas had a higher rate than the elderly of cities (p<0.001) and the older age had a higher rate(p<0.001). The rate of periodontal disease was 43.2% of the total elderly. By area, the elderly of big cities (46.2%) had a higher rate of periodontal disease than the elderly of medium cities (39.4%) and rural areas (43.6%)(p<0.001), and elderly men (46.4%) were higher than elderly women (40.2%)(p<0.001). By age, the lower age had a higher rate of peridontal disease (p<0.001). Dental abrasion was observed in 16.9% of the total elderly. The elderly of cities (21.0%) had a higher rate than the elderly of rural areas (12.0%)(p<0.001) and elderly men (21.3%) were higher than elderly women (12.8%)(p<0.001). Also the lower age had more dental abrasion symptoms (p<0.001). For needing a denture, the rate among the elderly was 48.5% and was higher for the elderly of rural areas(20.9%), than the elderly of big cities(7.0%) and medium cities (10.5%)(p<0.001). For the rate of denture wearing, the elderly of rural areas(41.8%) were higher than the elderly of big cities (27.7%) and medium cities (28.2% )(p<0.001). • This study utilized big data, one of the new technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution as a policy direction study related to the military security of the Army. By utilizing Text mining and analyzing military security trends in domestic and foreign papers, it will be able to set policy directions and reduce trial and error. In this study, we found differences in domestic and international studies on military sucurity. At first, Domestic research has shown that in the course of the fourth industrial revolution, there is a strong interest in technological security, such as IT technology in security and cyber security in North Korea. On the other hand, Foreign research confirmed that policies are being studied in such a way that military sucurity is needed at the level of cooperation between countries and that it can contribute to world peace. Various academic policy studies have been underway in terms of determining world peace and security levels, not just security levels. It contrasted in our immediate confrontation with North Korea for decades but suggest complementary measures that cannot be overlooked from a grand perspective. Conclusionally, the direction of academic research in domestic and foreign should be done in macro perspective under national network cooperation, not just technology sucurity research, recognizing that military security is a policy product that should be studied in a security system between countries.

  • This study was conducted in order to provide essential data and relevant management proposal to conserve and maintain big and old trees in a rational way. For the field survey, 77 big and old trees preserved by the laws in Chollabuk-do, Korea were investigated. The study results are summarized as follows : 1. To conserve and manage big and old trees, the valuable trees have been designated as natural monument trees and protection-needed trees. There are 141 individuals of 37 species designated as natural monuments and 10,049 individuals of 102 species designated as protection-needed trees. 2. Management budget for natural monument trees was devoted at 70% from the national expenditure, but that for protection-needed trees was devoted at 98% from the local expenditure. 3. Standardized sign boards and sign stones for natural monument trees were well placed and other protection facilities such as fences, branch supports and branch holdings were established. On the other hand, management of protection-needed trees was deficient overall. 4. Problems for designation process and management of protection-needed trees could include items such as insufficient management budget, various development activities, land ownership, misjudgement of tree age and species identification, unsatisfaction of sign board placement, insufficient surgery for damaged trees, pavement around tree root system and environmental pollution around the trees. 5. In order to improve the existing management methods of big and old trees, the following schemes were suggested : the development of practical criteria for natural monument and protection-needed trees, nationwide surveys of big and old tree resources, the security of national budget, securing sufficient spaces for the tree growth, specialization of management systems, extended practices of tree form management, establishment of permanent standard signs and consideration of opinions of village residents.

  • Sound absorption capability and anatomical features of kagikazura (Uncaria rhynchophylla) and larch (lalix kaemferi) wood were estimated. Sound absorption coefficients had been measured by the two microphone transfer function method and anatomical features of kagikazura wood examined by SEM observation. The sound absorption coefficients of Uncaria rhynchophylla was higher than lalix kaemferi. Especially, in the frequency range of 1 to 4KHz, sound absorption coefficients of kagikazura was about 2~3 times higher than those of lalix kaemferi. Abundant and big vessel observed on the cross sectional surface of kagikazura wood and simple perforation plate observed on the longitudinal surface. It was surmised that the abundant big vessel element and simple perforation plate behaved as a sound absorbing pore.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify an acquisition material duplication rate among three academic libraries for developing an academic library network. Three academic libraries located in Gyonggi-do, Korea were selected for data collection. The acquisition lists in both 2000 and 2001 were compared and analyzed between two libraries respectively. The results show that the duplication rate is 0.4% in 2000 and 2.8% in 2001 between medium in libraries, and 1.33%, 1.11% in 2000 and 3.63%, 3.88% in 2001 between a big size library and medium size libraries. These tell us that a big library can get benefit from a library network with medium size libraries.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of revegetation technique for water attacking point using waterlogged prevention frame revetment. In this study, we evaluate frame revetment stability, water quality, plant growth and ecological and envirnomental changes in Mooshim streamside landscape. The results are as follows; 1) The waterlogged prevention frame revetment appeared to be stable despite of two big floods. The materials used for the revetment were not eroded on the water attacking point. Thus, we confirmed the effect of scour prevention of the frame work. 2) The effects of the frame revetment on the water quality appeared to be good for the surrounding environment. Dissolved Oxygen(DO) was higher about $0.4{\sim}0.6mg/{\ell}$ at the frame revetment than that of the main stream flow. pH value was lower about 0.4~0.5. Electric Conductivity(EC) showed lower about $0.8{\sim}1.1{\mu}s/cm$. at submersion prevent frame than the low-flow of the stream. Turbidity was lower about $0.6{\sim}1.2mg/{\ell}$. 3) As the effects on ecological and environmental conditions, we discovered a number of carassius auratus and Zacco platypus in the frame revetment area. Also, sympetrum balteata, coenagrionidae was observed frequently. 4) The plant growth did not appear to tumble or wither despite of two big floods. The visual rating of plant growth was evaluated as medium (around 5 point) 5) The landscape analysis derived four factors(i.e. the harmony, the variation, the flexibility and the provincial characteristics) from the factor analysis.
