The field of applied biofeedback as one of psychophysiological self regulation techniques began in the united states in 1950s. Biofeedback may be described as information about the effects of a response that is given to the person making that response in order to improve ways of controlling that response. This article reviewed various definitions of biofeedback, learning models, mediating processes, instrumentations to be considered during biofeedback practice, treatment procedures and clinical applications.

This study examines longitudinal patterns of financial kin support and welfare given to single mother families using life table techniques. Drawing on the 1985-1993 Panel Study of Income Dynamics(PSID), I followed 560 single mothers from the time they began a single motherhood spell. About 30 percent of these single mothers received financial support from relatives, and 40 to 50 percent received AFDC and Food Stamps, respectively. Results indicate that kin support is more likely to be given in a transitional period and tends to decrease over time. In comparison, receiving welfare appears positively time-dependent.

A large size flat panel LCD-TV must fulfill different requirements than a desktop LCD-monitor: The contrast must be much larger, the viewing angle should be as wide as possible and the switching times must be shorter to allow moving pictures to be displayed naturally. The "Vertically Aligned" technology is most promising to realize such a product. LC-material development for this technology began at Merck about 10 years ago. New materials based on the 1,1,6,7-tetrafluoroindane skeleton were recently synthesized via ortho-metallation and intramolecular Heck cyclization followed by an oxidative fluorination procedure. The materials offer improved properties over liquid crystals currently employed in flat panel LCD-TVs.

Recently, high-workable concrete has been developed and began to be used to a great extent in foreign countries, but it isn't familiar with and fully introduced in Korea yet. The aim of this paper is to suggest a reference data for the development of High-workable concrete according to the comparative analysis the effect of mix proportion (unit water sand/aggregate ratio) on the flowing characteristics. And also this paper aims to examine the compactability of High-workable concrete in a model wall-form.

Gifted education has been becoming a focus of every field in Chinese society as a special educational mode, since Special Class for the Gifted Youth in the University of Science and Technology of China began to enroll students. In this paper we first introduce the developing procedure of the gifted education in China, and then recommend and analyze the characteristics of a successful gifted educational base in China. At length, we probe into the problems that exist in process of carrying on the gifted education in China for reference.

Since the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) outbreak in the Republic of Korea (hereafter Korea) began on May 11, 2015, a total of 186 persons have been infected by the MERS coronavirus, 38 of whom have died. With this number, Korea becomes second only to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the ranking of cumulative MERS cases. In this paper Korea's unique experience of an outbreak of MERS will be summarized and discussed briefly.

Bacterial soft rot was observed on radish grown in Hongcheon, Kanwon-Do, Korea. The soft rot symptoms began as small water-soaked lesions. The water-soaked lesions enlarged rapidly in roots and produced a foul odor. When roots were affected in the field, the shoots also became infected and watery, causing infected plants to wilt, disorganize, and die. The causal organism was isolated from the lesions, and the identified as Erwinia chrysanthemi based on the morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics. E. chrysanthemi is first described bacterium which causes bacterial soft rot on radish in Korea.

Black leg occurred in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) grown in Pyungchang, Kangwon-Do, Korea. The symptoms began as small water-soaked lesions on stem, and the affected stems discolored black to brown. It became yellow under dry condition. When lower parts of potato were affected in the field, wilting of leaves and desiccation of the stem were developed. The causal organism was isolated from lesions and identified as Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica based on the morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics. E. carotovora subsp. atroseptica is the first described bacterium which causes black leg in potato in Korea.

The flower production in the Castanea crenata forest in Gapyong was investigated, by applying litter trap and allometric method. Among serveral variables, DBH is the most reliable one but the estimated value by DBH showed remarkable difference from the value obtained by the litter trap method. Litter trap showed 149.3 kg of flower production per ha in the Castane crenata forest. And the F/L ratro increased with the itme until flowers began to fall. The variation of flower production among trees by allometric method seems to be unreliable.
