This study focuses on the qualitative characteristics of mackerel marinated with herb extracts. By differentiating the amounts of garlic, ginger and basil, the optimal amount of each ingredient to he added has been found. According to the result of the experiment, the highest level of preference has been shown for the combination of 3% of garlic, 3% of ginger and 2% of basil, generating the optimal amounts to be added. Since the pH change shown by the mackerel marinated by adding the optimal combination of 3% of garlic, 3% of ginger and 2% of basil is included in the range of pH 6.2-6.4, which is the initial point of decomposition for red-fleshed fish, it can be considered to be appropriate for the qualitative characteristics of the product. According to the differences test, GA3 bas shown the lowest level of strength, making it soft. Also, GA3 has shown the highest level of elasticity together with the characteristic of being moist. As a result, it can be said that garlic is better than ginger and basil. According to the preference test, GA3 has shown the highest level of preference in terms of appearance, flavor, texture, taste and overall preference. By considering the above results of the experiment, GA3 (3% of garlic) can be regarded as the optimal amount to be added.
Kimchi attached gas-absorbent and unattached one were stored at 20$^{\circ}C$, examined for the storage effects by measuring changes of pH, acidity, CO$_2$ contents, total microbe and lactic acid bacteria. pH of kimchi attached KOH is higher than that of the others during storage. Acidity of kimchi attached KOH is lower than that of the others during storage. The CO$_2$ contents of kimchi used KOH as Bas-absorbent is 1.5 mg% at 6 days, after it's value is constant during storage. And the CO$_2$ content of kimchi attached gas-absorbent is lower than that of kimchi unattached gas-absorbent. Total microbe number of kimchi unattached gas-absorbent, treated Ca(OH)$_2$ and treated KOH are the highest value at 6, 6 and 8 days, respectively. Lactic acid bacteria number of kimchi is increased during storage and that of kimchi attached gas-absorbent is higher than that of kimchi unattached gas-absorbent.

In this paper, the power added efficiency(PAE) of class F power amplifier is improved by applying a new Photonic Bandgap (PBG) structure on the output of amplifier. The proposed spiral PBG structure is a two-dimensional (2-D) periodic lattice patterned on a dielectric slab that does not require nonplanar fabrication process. This structure bas higher suppression performance at second harmonic. Also, It has a sharp skirt property. This new PBG structure can be applied with class F power amplifier for efficiency improvement. We obtained the PAE of 73.62 % for CDMA applications, and the PAE performance is improved as much as 6.2 % compared with that of a conventional class F power amplifier.
Recently, the interest of the study about IGCC(Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle), one of New & Renewable Energy technologies, bas been increased due to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Low Carbon Green Growth policy, etc. Also, with this interest of IGCC, the study on the gas turbine utilizing the synthetic gas is performing actively. In the study of the gas turbine characteristic, the power performance and the combustion efficiency are mainly discussed and also the concern about the exhaust gas is being taken care of due to the increasing awareness of the environment. With this, we would like to go over the exhaust gas emission characteristic by the synthetic gas inflow in this test. In order to conduct such a test, we constructed a synthetic gas supplying system to supply the synthetic gases ($H_2$: hydrogen, $N_2$: nitrogen, CO: carbon monoxide, $CO_2$: carbon dioxide, and $H_2O$: steam) quantitatively and this combustion test was conducted by controlling the supplied synthetic gases artificially. The concentration of the exhaust gases appeared variously depending on the differences of the inflow nitrogen amount and the steam amount, whether or not the carbon dioxide flow in and so on. The results of the test can be able to be utilized for the IGCC study by understanding the exhaust gas emission characteristic of the coal gas turbine by synthetic gas composition.
The study was conducted to make a map for selecting righteous tree species for each site by digital terrain analysis. We set an algorithmic value for each tree species' characteristics with distribution pattern analysis, and the soil types were digitized from data indicated on soil map. Mean altitude, slope, aspect and micro-topography were estimated from the digital map for each block which had been calculated by regression equations with altitude. The results obtained from the study could be summarized as follows 1. We could develope a method to select righteous tree species for a given site with concern of soil, forest condition and topographic factors on Muju-Gun in Chonbuk province(2,500ha) by the terrain analysis and multi-variate digital map with a personal computer. 2. The brown forest soils were major soil types for the study area, and 29 tree species were occurred with Pinus densiflora as a dominant species. The differences in site condition and soil properties resulted in site quality differences for each tree species. 3. We tried to figure out the accuracy of a basic program(DTM.BAS) enterprised for this study with comparing the mean altitude and aspect calculated from the topographic terrain analysis map and those from surveyed data. The differences between the values were less than 5% which could be accepted as a statistically allowable value for altitude, as well as the values for aspect showed no differences between both the mean altitude and aspect. The result may indicate that the program can be used further in efficiency. 4. From the righteous-site selection map, the 2nd group(R, $B_1$) took the largest area with 46% followed by non-forest area (L) with 23%, the 5th group with 7% and the 4th group with 5%, respectively. The other groups occupied less than 6%. 5. We suggested four types of management tools by silvicultural tree species with considering soil type and topographic conditions.
Purpose: Thallous-201 chloride produced at Korea Cancer Center Hospital(KCCH) is used in detecting cardiovascular disease and cancer. Thallium impurity can cause emesis, catharsis and nausea, so the presence of thallium and other metal impurities should be determined. According to USP and KP, their amounts must be less than 2 ppm in thallium and 5 ppm in total. In this study, the detection method of trace amounts of metal impurities in $[^{201}Tl]$TICI injection with polarography was optimized without environmental contamination. Materials and Methods: For the detection of metal impurities, Osteryoung Square Wave Stripping Voltammetry method was used in Bio-Analytical System (BAS) 50W polarograph. The voltammetry was composed of Dropping Mercury Electrode (DME) as a working electrode, Ag/AgCl as a reference electrode and Pt wire as a counter electrode. Square wave stripping method, which makes use of formation and deformation of amalgam, was adopted to determine the metal impurities, and pH 7 phosphate buffer was used as supporting electrolyte. Results: Tl, Cu and Pb in thallous-201 chloride solution were detected by scanning from 300 mV to -800 mV Calibration curves were made by using $TINO_3,\;CuSO_4\;and\;Pb(NO_3){_2}$ as standard solutions. Tl was confirmed at -450 mV peak potential and Cu at -50 mV Less than 2 ppm of Tl and Cu was detected and Pb was not detected in KCCH-produced thallous-201 chloride injection. Conclusion: Detection limit of thallium and copper is approximately 50 ppb with this method. As a result of this experiment, thallium and other metal impurities in thallous-201 chloride injection, produced at Korea Cancer Center Hospital, are in the regulation of USP and KP Polarograph could be applied for the determination of metal impurities in the quality control of radiopharmaceuticals conveniently without environmental contamination.
The aim of this study was to identify the polymorphism on fatty acid synthase (FASN) gene and its association with fat traits and fatty acid composition in Hanwoo. We genotyped a SNP (g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A) detected in Exon34 of FASN on 90 Hanwoo steers by PCR RFLP. A linear mixed model revealed an association of g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A with total body fat contents (P=0.006), while there is no significant effect between g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A and other traits (IMF, BF and fatty acid composition). Regression coefficient and $R^2$ of the SNP was -1.5 kg and 0.36 in this anslysis. Expecially, AA type of g.16024G${\rightarrow}$A bas a less amount of body fat (1.5 kg) than GG type of the SNP in Hanwoo. In conclusion, this study indicates an important role for FASN gene in determining body fat content in Hanwoo.

Background: The purpose of this study was to assess the predictive effect of preoperative CEA and CA 19-9 levels on the prognosis of colorectal and gastric cancer patients. Materials and Methods: CEA and CA 19-9 were evaluated preoperatively in patients undergoing surgery for colorectal cancer (n=116) and gastric cancer (n=49). Patients with CEA levels <5 ng/mL were classified as CEA Group 1, 5-30 ng/mL as CEA Group 2 and >30 ng/mL were classified as CEA Group 3. Similarly the patients with a CA 19-9 level <35 U/mL were classified as CA 19-9 Group 1, with 35-100 U/mL as Group 2 and with >100 U/mL as Group and 3. TNM stages and histologic grades were noted according to histopathological reports. Patients with a TNM grade 0 or 1 were classified as Group A, TNM grade 2 patients constituted Group B and TNM grade 3 and 4 patients constituted Group C. Demographic characteristics, tumor locations and blood types of the patients were all recorded and these data were compared with the preoperative CEA and CA19-9 values. Results: A significant correlation between CA 19-9 levels (>100 U/mL) and TNM stage (in advanced stages) was determined. We also determined a significant correlation between TNM stages and positive vlaues for both CEA and CA 19-9 in colorectal and gastric cancer patients. In comparison between CEA and CA 19-9 levels and age, gender, tumor location, ABO blood group, and tumor histologic grade, no significant correlation was found. Conclusions: Positive levels of both CEA and CA 19-9 can be considered to indicate an advanced stage in colorectal and gastric cancer patients.
