바다숲 조성사업의 경제적 효과 분석 : 강릉 주문진 바다숲 조성사업을 대상으로 (An Economic Analysis of the Marine Afforestation Project in Gangneung Region, Republic of Korea)

  • This study is aimed to analyze the economic effectiveness (direct fishing income effect) of the marine afforestation project in Gangneung region. Based on the surveyed data, the production values and costs of the marine afforestation project are estimated and compared to determine the economic validity of the marine afforestation project. Results show that the B/C ratio, as an indicator of economic evaluation, is 1.30 with an interest rate of 5.5%, indicating that the marine afforestation project in Gangneung region would be economically feasible under the current production and market conditions. However, it is expected that the economic effectiveness would be increased when considering benefits of recreational fishing and greenhouse gas reduction from the marine afforestation project.

Photogrammetry-based reverse engineering method for aircraft airfoils prediction

  • Airframe internal and external specifications are the product of intensive intellectual efforts and technological breakthroughs distinguishing each aircraft manufacturer. Therefore, geometrical information characterizing aircraft primary aerodynamic surfaces remain classified. When attempting to model real aircraft, many members of the aeronautical community depend on their personal expertise and generic design principles to bypass the confidentiality obstacles and sketch real aircraft airfoils, which therefore vary for the same aircraft due to the different designers' initial assumptions. This paper presents a photogrammetric shape prediction method for deriving geometrical properties of real aircraft airframe by utilizing their publicly accessible static and dynamic visual content. The method is based on extracting the visually distinguishable curves at the fairing regions between aerodynamic surfaces and fuselage. Two case studies on B-29 and B-737 are presented showing how to approximate the sectional coordinates of their wing inboard airfoils and proving the good agreement between the geometrical and aerodynamic properties of the replicated airfoils to their original versions. Therefore, the paper provides a systematic reverse engineering approach that will enhance aircraft conceptual design and flight performance optimization studies.

Impact of HIV-1 subtypes on gross deletion in the nef gene after Korean Red Ginseng treatment

  • Background: The number of primary human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 non-B subtype infections (non-B) and that of reports regarding the differences in the pathogenesis of subtype B and non-B infections are increasing. However, to the best of our knowledge, there have been no reports on gross deletion in the nef gene (g∆nef) in non-B infections. Methods: To determine whether there is a difference in the change in CD4+ T cells after treatment with Korean Red Ginseng (KRG) between patients with subtype B and non-B infections, we retrospectively analyzed and compared the annual decrease in CD4+ T cells (AD) and the proportion of g∆nef in 77 patients who were followed for more than 10 years in the absence of combination antiretroviral therapy. Results: Overall, AD was significantly faster in patients with non-B infections than in those with subtype B infections. Survival analysis showed that the survival probability was significantly higher in subtype B than in non B-infected patients. These differences mainly resulted from significant differences in the amount of KRG and age. In the patients treated with KRG, there was a significant correlation between the amount of KRG and the AD in both subtypes. Interestingly, there was a significant correlation between the amount of KRG and the proportion of g∆nef in patients infected with subtype B, but not in those infected with non-B. The same phenomenon was observed when the KRG dose was adjusted. Conclusion: Our results suggest that non-B may be biologically more stable than subtype B.

실습선 가야호의 항해 중 선내 소음에 대한 승선환경 (Boarding Environment of Training Ship KAYA to the Noise during the Voyage)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of the noise level on the boarding environment in a stern trawl ship, KAYA(GT: 1,737 tons, Pukyong National University). We measured the noise level at a working, an accommodation and a teaching area, and an engine space on January 9, 2010 while the KAYA was sailing on a liner sea route. At the working area, the ranges of the noise rating number(NRN) and the NRN determination frequency(FNRN) were from 44 to 73 and from 1000 to 2000Hz, respectively. The results were generally satisfied the criteria of the International Maritime Organization(IMO). The noise level at the area, except the radio room(w2), was exceeded the criteria(50dB(A)) for the efficient studying and working. The noise level at the engine control room and the machine workshop was respectively exceeded 1.2dB and 9.5dB than the criteria caused the conversation disturbance (70dB(A)). At the accommodation, NRN and FNRN were from 49 to 54 and from 1000 to 4000Hz, respectively. The noise level was below the criteria of IMO, but above 40dB(A) caused the sleep disturbance. At the teaching area, NRN and FNRN were from 44 to 63 and from 500 to 2000Hz, respectively. The noise level was exceeded than the criteria(50dB(A)) for the efficient studying. At the engine space, NRN and FNRN were from 95 to 100 and from 2000 to 4000Hz, respectively. The noise level was above the criteria of IMO(90dB(A)) for the residence, while it was not exceeded 110dB(A) for the transient.

수삼 추출물 첨가 액체배지에서 배양된 노루궁뎅이버섯 균사체의 면역활성 증진 (Immune Enhancement of Hericium erinaceum Mycelium Cultured in Submerged Medium Supplemented with Ginseng Extract)

  • 본 연구는 mushroom complete medium(MCM) 액체배지에 수삼 추출물(GE, $65^{\circ}Bx$)을 첨가하여 면역활성이 증진된 노루궁뎅이버섯(Hericium erinaceum) 균사체를 배양하고, 균사체로부터 활성다당성분을 분획하고자 하였다. MCM에 대하여 GE를 5, 10과 15%(v/v) 첨가한 액체배지에서 균사체를 배양하고, 각각의 조다당획분(HE-GE-5-CP, HE-GE-10-CP와 HE-GE-15-CP)으로 분획하여 면역활성을 측정한 결과, HE-GE-10-CP는 HE-GE-5-CP와 HE-GE-15-CP보다 높은 활성을 나타내었으며, GE를 첨가하지 않은 MCM에서 배양된 균사체 조다당획분(HE-CP)보다 유의적으로 증진된 면역활성을 나타내었다. 또한, HE-GE-10-CP의 DEAE-Sepharose CL-6B 분획물 중 가장 높은 활성을 나타낸 HE-GE-10-CP-II획분은 대조군인 HE-CP의 어떠한 획분보다도 유의적으로 높은 면역활성과 암 전이 억제활성을 나타내었다. 한편, 활성획분인 HE-GE-10-CP-II는 arabinose, rhamnose, galactose, glucose와 uronic acid(molar ratio; 0.34:0.26:0.99:1.00:0.39)로 구성되어 있으나, 대조군인 HE-CP의 동일용매 용출획분으로서 HE-GE-10-CP-II보다는 활성이 낮은 HE-CP-II는 fucose, mannose, galactose와 glucose(molar ratio; 0.32:0.55:1.00:0.96)를 함유하여 다른 구성당 분포를 나타내었다. 따라서 노루궁뎅이버섯 균사체 액체배양에서 수삼 추출물 첨가는 균사체의 구성당 변화를 통한 면역활성 증진에 관여하는 것으로 사료되어 기능성 소재 개발에 유용할 것으로 사료된다.

산침지와 가열 살균이 떡볶이 떡의 형상 변화와 품질 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Acid Soaking and Thermal Sterilization on the Shape and Quality Characteristics of Tteokbokki Rice Cake)

  • Effects of acid soaking (AS) and thermal sterilization (TS) on the shape and quality characteristics of Tteokbokki rice cake (TRC) were investigated. The F-value of a sequential process (SP) of the combination of AS and TS was quantitatively determined with a reference microorganism of Bacillus cereus. F-values were evaluated according to the minimum and the maximum D-value of B. cereus and the reduction exponent (m=12). The heat penetration curves at cold point (CP) of TRC (400 g) were used to estimate the TS time at 121, 100, and $95^{\circ}C$. F-values of the SP were revised according to the adjusted m values after AS at different pH. The non-uniformity parameters (NUP) of TRC had no significant changes during AS but it dramatically increased after applying TS at a low pH by AS. The result of solubilized starch contents (SSC) demonstrated that the shape changes during SP are related to SSC. The texture characteristics and the whiteness were significantly influenced by a low pH condition (3.5) (p<0.05). Sensory analysis showed that a lower pH and a longer thermal processing time influenced negatively on the acceptability. This study showed that pH 4.0 and $95^{\circ}C$ was an optimum condition for the SP.

간호리더를 위한 에니어그램을 활용한 감성리더십 프로그램 개발 및 효과 (The Development and Effectiveness of the Emotional Leadership by Enneagram for Nurse's Leaders)

  • 본 연구는 에니어그램을 활용한 감성리더십프로그램을 개발하고 간호 리더에게 적용하여 프로그램 효과를 파악하기 위한 비동등성 대조군 사전-사후 설계의 유사 실험연구이다. 우선 에니어그램을 활용한 감성리더십 프로그램을 개발한 후, S시와 B, D시에 위치한 4개의 500병상이상의 국공립병원 및 2차 병원의 주임 급 간호 리더에게 2018년 5월 21일~6월 25일까지 총 6주간 프로그램을 시행하여 감성리더십, 자기 효능감, 조직성과의 변화를 비교하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 통계프로그램을 이용하여 전산처리 하였으며, 각 분석방법은 다음과 같다. 실험군과 대조군의 일반적 특성, 감성리더십, 자기 효능감, 조직성과에 대한 사전 동질성은 자료의 정규성 여부에 따라서 각각 ${\chi}^2$-test, Fisher's exact test, t-test를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 감성리더십프로그램이 조직성과와 감성리더십을 향상시키는 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 간호리더의 감성리더십과 조직성과를 향상시키는 간호중재로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

뼈 세포의 효소 및 무기질대사에 미치는 PTH와 Calcitonin 호르몬의 효과의 인산화 반응 (Effect of Parathyroid Hormone and Calcitonin on the Enzyme and Mineral Metabolism of Bone Cells and Phosphorylation)

  • Osteoblast(OBL) cells were isolated from ICR Swiss neonatal mouse calvarial tissues and cultured in a CO2 incubator with minimum essential medium (MEM) containing 0.25g BSA. The cells were cultured for 7 days and were treated with bovine parathyroid hormone (bPTH, 1-34) and calcitonin(CT). Enzyme activities related to mineral metabolism and other biochemical actions within the bone cells including protein phosphorylation were investigated. In other experiments using cultured calvarial bone tissues, hormones were treated for 24, 48, 72 or 96 hours. The activities of $\beta$-glucuronidase enzymes involved in bone collagen synthesis and mineral deposits were increased by 8% with bPTH and were inhibited with CT treatment, while those were 67% increase treated with bPTH and CT together. On the other hand, alkaline phophatase(AP) activities were inhibited by PTH hormone at all the time courses observed. Protein phosphorylation reaction in OBL was mediated by bPTH, cAMP and ionized Ca. Phosphorylation was observed in different cell fractions including homogenate, membrane and cytosol. The number of proteins phosphorylated by PTH, cAMP, and Ca were 10, 5, and 9, respectively. Most of the protein kinases(PKs) were existed in cytosolic compartment. In membrane fractions, two bPTH-dependent-PKs (70K, 50K Da) were observed of which 70K Da protein was also Ca-dependent. Most of the cAMP-dependent PKs were regulated via bPTH. 70K, 50K, 5K, 19K, 16K, 10.5K phosphoproteins regulated by Ca share the same pathways as those by bPTH-dependent proteins. Ca seems to regulate PK activities differently from cAMP.

  • Heat generated from the electronic parts in PDP is undesirable physical properties. To attain optimal arrangement of the electronic parts in PDP, thermal flows in PDP should be analyzed. PIV measurement has been made to quantify the characteristics of the inner flows and outer flows of an actual PDP. The quantity of heat flux from PDP has been estimated using the PIV results. Measurement system consists of Ar-ion laser, CCD camera and an image grabber installed on a host computer.

  • This paper proposes a new ballast that is ignited by internal LC resonance of buck converter. In order to cancel the steady state current ripple, the proposed ballast utilizes the coupled inductor filter which minimizes the size and weight of the ballast. The operation mode of the proposed ballast is analyzed and the performance of the new ballast is verified by the experimental results from a HOW prototype ballast for metal halide discharge (MHD) lamp.
