Structural and Microwave Dielectric Properties of $Mg_{5}B_{4}O_{15}$ (B=Ta, Nb) Ceramics with Sintering Temperature (소결온도에 따른 $Mg_{5}B_{4}O_{15}$ (B=Ta, Nb) 세라믹스의 구조 및 마이크로파 유전 특성)

  • In this study, structural and micowave dielectric properties of the $Mg_{5}B_{4}O_{15}$ (B=Ta, Nb) cation-deficient perovskite ceeramics. The specimens are prepared through the solid-state route. According to the XRD pattern, $Mg_{4}Ta_{2}O_9$ and $MgTa_{2}O_6$ phase exist in calcined and sintered $Mg_{5}Ta_{4}O_{15}$ powder. Also $Mg_{5}Ta_{4}O_{15}$ phase added with increasing sintering temperature. In the case of calcined and sintered $Mg_{5}Nb_{4}O_{15}$ powder, single phase of $Mg_{5}Nb_{4}O_{15}$ were appeared. The bulk density and quality factor of the $Mg_{5}B_{4}O_{15}$ (B=Ta, Nb) ceramics were increased with sinteming temperature in $1400^{\circ}C{\sim}1450^{\circ}C$, but these were decreased in another sintering temperature. Dielectric constant of the $Mg_{5}Ta_{4}O_{15}$ ceramics was increased continuously with increasing of sintering temperature. And the dielectric constant of the $Mg_{5}Nb_{4}O_{15}$ ceramics was increased in $1400^{\circ}C{\sim}1450^{\circ}C$ but decreased in $1475^{\circ}C$. In the case of the $Mg_{5}Ta_{4}O_{15}$ and $Mg_{5}Nb_{4}O_{15}$ ceramics sintered at $1450^{\circ}C$ for 5h, the dielectric constant, quality factor, and temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency (TCRF) were 8.2, 259,473 GHz, -10.91 $ppm/^{\circ}C$ and 14, 37,350 GHz, -52.3 $ppm/^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • The reaction between methyl 2,3-di-O-benzyl-4,6-di-O-mesyl-${\alpha}$-D-glucopyranoside (1b) and potassium superoxide resulted in hydrolysis, and gave methyl 2,3-di-O-benzyl-${\alpha}$-D-glucopyranoside (1) as a sole product. When the reaction was performed with a vicinal dimesylate, methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-2,3-di-O-mesyl-${\alpha}$-D-altropyranoside (4b), again the hydrolysis product, methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-${\alpha}$-D-altropyranoside (4) was obtained. However, the reaction of potassium superoxide with another vicinal dimesylate, methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-2,3-di-O-mesyl-${\alpha}$-D-glucopyranoside (3b), nucleophilic displacement took place to afford methyl 4,6-O-benzylidene-${\alpha}$-D-altropyranoside (4). Apparently different results from two trans vicinal dimesylates, 3b and 4b are explained by the transient formation of epoxides, methyl 2,3-anhydro-4,6-O-benzylidene-${\alpha}$-D-allopyranoside (8) and methyl 2,3-anhydro-4,6-O-benzylidene-${\alpha}$-D-mannopyranoside (9) by $KO_2$. The reaction between the allo epoxide 8 and $KO_2$ gave altro 4. The manno epoxide 9 also afforded altro 4 as the major product. Facile epoxide formation by the reaction of a vicinal dimesylate and superoxide was also observed with 3-O-benzyl-1,2-O-isopropylidene-5,6-di-O-mesyl-${\alpha}$-D-glucofuranose: 5,6-anhydro-3-O-benzyl-1,2-O-isopropylidene-${\beta}$-L-idofuranose was obtained.

  • Polyphenols were isolated from Korean green tea using Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC. The isolated polyphenols were procyanidin B-4, procyanidin B-2-3,3'-digallate, prodelphinidin C-2-3,3'-di-O-digallate, (+)-catechin-3-O-rhamnose, procyandin B-5, procyanidin B-7-3-0-gallate, gallate, epiafzelechin-$(4{\beta}{\rightarrow}8)$-epiafzelechin, procyanidin B-3-3-O-rhamnose, afzelechin-$(4{\alpha}{\rightarrow}8)$-catechin, prodelphinidin B-5-3,3'-di-O-digallate and (+)-taxifolin-3-O-D-xyloside. The inhibitory effects of prodelphinidin C-2-3,3'-di-O-gallate and procyanidin B-2-3,3'-digallate $(at\;100{\mu}M)$ on angiotensin.converting enzyme were 68.8 and 54.6%, respectively, while the inhibitory effects of prodelphinidin C-2-3,3'-di-O-gallated and procyanidin B-2-3,3'-digallate $(at\;100{\mu}m)$ on xanthine oxidase were 54.5 and 38.2%, respectively. Lastly, the inhibitory activities of prodelphinidin C-2-3,3'-di-O-gallate $(at\;100{\mu}m)$ on tyrosinase was 42.1%.

Preparation and Luminescent Properties of YNbO$_4$ : Bi Phosphors by Flux Technique with B$_2$O$_3$ (Boron Oxide Flux를 이용한 YNbO$_4$ : Bi 청색 형광체의 제조 및 발광 특성)

  • 기존의 고상 반응법에 의해 합성된 YNbO4 : Bi 형광체의 발광특성을 개선하기 위하여 B2O3 융체 첨가법으로 형광체를 합성하고, 빛발광(PL) 및 저전압 음극선발광(CL)을 측정하였다. PL 및 CL 모두 415~440 nm 영역에서 강한 청색 발광 스펙트럼을 나타냈으며, 고상 반응의 경우와 마찬가지로 Y/Nb 비율이 화학 양론상의 1:1인 경우보다 결함구조를 인위적으로 조절한 51/49나 54/46에서 최대의 발광강도를 보였다. 한편, 고상 반응에서는 125$0^{\circ}C$에서 4시간 열처리하는 것이 최대의 발광효과를 나타냈으나, B2O3융제를 첨가하고 110$0^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 시료가 결정성이 좋고 입자의 크기 및 형태가 균일하여 PL뿐만 아니라 CL에서도 우수한 발광특성을 보였다. B2O3융제를 첨가하는 방법으로 열처리 온도를 낮추고 입자크기와 형태를 조절하여 형광체의 휘도를 개선할 수 있었다.

  • In this study, structural and microwave dielectric properties of the ${Ba_5}{B_4}{O_{15}}$ (B=Ta, Nb} cation-deficient perovskite ceramics with sintering temperature were investigated. All sample of the ${Ba_5}{B_4}{O_{15}}$ (B=Ta, Nb) ceramics prepared by conventional mixed oxide method and sintered at $1325^{\circ}C{\sim}1575^{\circ}C$. The bulk density and dielectric constant of the ${Ba_5}{Ta_4}{O_{15}}$ ceramics were increased continuously with increasing of sintering temperature. And the bulk density and dielectric constant of the ${Ba_5}{Nb_4}{O_{15}}$ ceramics was increased in $1375^{\circ}C{\sim}1400^{\circ}C$ but decerased in $1425^{\circ}C$. In the case of ${Ba_5}{Ta_4}{O_{15}}$ ceramics sintered at $1475^{\circ}C$ and ${Ba_5}{Nb_4}{O_{15}}$ ceramics sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$, The dielectric constant and quality factor, and temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency (TCRF) were 25.15, 53,105 GHz, $-3.06\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ and, 39.55, 28,052 GHz, $5.7\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ respectively.

A Study on the Performance Improvement of Turbo Coded OFDM Systems Considering Frequency Offset (주파수 오프셋을 고려한 Tued OFDM 시스템의 성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, it is analyzed theoretically that the performance degradation, caused by carrier frequency offset, in an OFDM/M-ary PSK system. Then, when Turbo coding is adopted to an OFDM/M-ary PSK system, the degree of performance enhancement is evaluated. Finally, the maximum frequency offset is calculated to satisfy the BER performance required in a Turbo coded OFDM/M-ary PSK system. As results of analysis, it is shown that the more the number of M-ary is, the worse the BER performance is. Moreover, 7dB, 9dB, and 17dB of $E_b/N_o$ are required in QPSK, 8PSK and 16PSK systems, respectively in order to satisfy the error performance, $BER=10^{-3}$ for voice communication. If $E_b/N_o$ are 10㏈ and 15㏈, the frequency offset should be below 0.05 and 0.075, respectively, for voice communication. When Turbo coding is adopted to an OFDM/M-ary PSK system, the less the number of M-ary is, the greater the performance enhancement of Turbo coding is. If the number of a M-ary system of the system is below 16, it is found that required $E_b/N_o$ is about 8dB to satisfy $BER=10^{-5}$ Moreover, in the system the Turbo coding scheme, voice communication is available with greatly low$E_b/N_o$, and 8dB of $E_b/N_o$ is enough for data communication regardless of the permission range of frequency offset.

  • [ $BaO-Sm_2O_3-4TiO_2$ ] 세라믹을 LTCC용 재료로 사용하기 위해 $B_2O_3$와 CuO를 소결조제로 첨가하여 소결온도를 낮추었다. 10.0 mol%의 $B_2O_3$만을 첨가하였을 경우 $1000^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결시 er=72.23, Qf=4,050GHz, ${\tau}f=-0.574ppm/^{\circ}C$의 우수한 유전 특성값을 얻을 수 있었지만, $960^{\circ}C$이하에서는 소결이 잘 이루어지지 않았다. $B_2O_3$와 CuO를 동시에 소결조제로 첨가하였을 경우에는 $900^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결시 10.0 mol% $B_2O_3$, 15.0 mol% CuO의 첨가조성에서 ${\varepsilon}r$=70.09, Qf=4,728GHz의 우수한 유전특성을 보여 고유전율을 가진 저온 동시 소결용 재료로서의 가능성을 보여주었다. 이처럼 BaO-$Sm_2O_3-4TiO_2$ 세라믹의 소결온도를 낮출 수 있었던 요인은 소결온도보다 용융점이 낮은 2차상들이 액상을 형성하여 액상소결이 진행되었기 때문이며 이때 소결에 기여한 이차상들은 결정화되지 못하고 비정질 상태로 남아있는 것으로 추정된다.

The Effect of Nb2O5 Addition on Properties of PZT Ceramics Prepared by Partial Oxalate Method (부분수산법으로 제조한 PZT세라믹스의 특성에 미치는Nb2O5 첨가효과)

  • Highly homogeneous PZT powder was prepared by a partial oxalate method using chemicals of (Z $r_{0.53}$ $Ti_{0.47}$) $O_2$, Pb(N $o_3$)$_2$and (COOH)$_2$ㆍ2$H_2O$. N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ addition effect on microstructure and electrical properties of PZT ceramics was investigated. When the precursors were calcined at 71$0^{\circ}C$, a single perovskite phase was obtained. After sintering at 110$0^{\circ}C$, X-ray diffraction Patterns showed coexistence of rhombohedral and tetragonal phases regardless of the N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ content. As the content of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ increased, grain size decreased but sintered density increased. The electromechanical coupling factor of kp and the piezoelectric constant of $d_{31}$ increased linearly with the content of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$, and those values reached 0.7 and -200, respectively, when 1.2 mol% of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ is added. is added.ded.

  • In this study, it was analyzed that autogenous expansion of MgO concrete was affected by W/B and curing temperature. Autogenous expansion test was performed for MgO concrete, which is mixed MgO of 0%, 5% of cement weight. With autogenous expansion based on long-term time variation was measured, it was observed an influence with W/B and curing temperature.

  • The magnetic properties of Ba-Ferrite ( $M^{+2}$O.nF $e_{2}$ $O_{3}$ is highly improved under the condition of composition ratio n=4.4 when B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ is added to Ferrite, the adding amount and sintering temperature which affect the magnetic properties were investigated and the following results; were obtained; 1. Magnetic properties are varied with B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ content and singering temperature, and coercive force and residual induction can be improved with B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$. 2. The optimal content of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ amount is about 4 mol %, 3. Without the addition of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$, the optimal sintering temperature is about 1300.deg. C, but when 4 mol % of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$ is added, the optimal sintering temperature falls to the range of 900.deg. C to 1100.deg. C and it also improves magnetic properties. 4. Residual induction increases as the singering temperature is raised to 1100.deg. C. Coercive force also increased as the sintering temperature is raised to 1000.deg. C, but it rapidly decreases when sintering temperature goes beyond 1000.deg. C. 5. Only a negligible change may be noticed in the decrease of Curie temperature by the addition of about 4 mol % of B $i_{2}$ $O_{3}$.
