  • This research focuses on the IS development methodology as an object of innovation in an IS organization. It has two main research objectives. It was intended to understand the critical affecting factors which have an effect on the processing of each level in the dynamic and evolving innovation process. There are two levels of innovation process: initiation and implementation. It was also intended to understand the performance of IS organizational innovation. We found three main results by the LISREL analysis. First, main factors affecting initiation level of innovation are innovative tendency of IS members, communication level of IS organization, existence of champion manager, IS performance gap, executive supporting to IS, and relative advantage of IS development methodology. At the implementation level, it was understood that the existence of champion manager, executive support, and relative advantage of IS development methodology were the main factors promoting to use the innovation, and the complexity of innovation was a negative factor adopting the usage of innovation. Second, the quality of the previous level in the gradual innovation activities gives very notable affection to the continuous next level. Finally, it was found that the qualitative performance like the documentation, collaborative team approach, IS developer's awareness and ability corresponding to their task and so on was improved due to the IS organizational innovation. This research provides the standard framework for the IS organizational innovation in a structural way. In the practical aspect, it may be used as the principle for introducing and using the IS development methodology.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze on high school teachers' stage of concern(SoC) on 'Creative-Experience Activity' in 2009 revised national curriculum and investigate the improvements of their levels. The subjects for this study were 234 high school teachers through out all part of the Korea country. The instrument for this study was developed according to the Hall & Hord(2006)'s stage of concerns questionnaire of Stage of Concern. The Data were analyzed by Profiling of teachers' concern and one-way ANOVA. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, 85.25% of the high school teachers were in stage of Awareness. 6.34% of teachers were in stage of Information. Most of high school teachers' concern about 'Creative-Experience Activity' was generally 'non-user' stage that unconcerned. Second, there were not significant differences in teachers' stage of concern according to their sex and teaching career except for region. In region, the teacher in metropolis tent to interest getting new information than small and midium size city. We need to make an effort to transfer from 'non-user' stage to 'early-user' stage of and 'impact' stage. To do so, we may sublate too much curriculum revise and start teacher training for 2009 revised 'creativity-experience activity' curriculum. The result of the study provide that there are not curriculum implementation success without teachers' concern about revised curriculum.

  • The study aimed to measure the levels of radiation protection for radiologists in medical institutions in three environmental categories (physical, administrative and social) and to establish a data base which can be used to increase awareness of environmental radiation protection in medical institutions within Korea. The study surveyed 10% of radiologists working in radiology departments in medical institutions which are supervised by the National Dose Registry overseen by the Korean Food and Drug Administration(KFDA). This study found that the level of environmental radiation protection was higher in the capital area and in larger hospitals. On the other hand, the study shows environmental radiation protection was lower in the Youngnam area and in clinics. Results from the questionnaires indicate the level of environmental radiation protection was higher when radiologists were given an individual dosimeter but lowest when the radiation protection apron quality test was conducted. Environmental radiation protection is an important factor for radiologists to conduct activities in a safe and protected environment. However, this study shows there are differences in the level of environmental radiation protection in medical institutions and location within Korea. In particular, the level of environmental radiation protection was lower in clinics, appropriate intervention strategies befitting these conditions are needed based on medical institution classification and location in order to improve the level of environmental protection.

  • The aim of the study was to evaluate of the knowledge, behavior and health beliefs of individuals over 50 regarding colorectal cancer screening, with a descriptive and cross-sectional design at Karabuk Life and Health Center in Turkey. A total of 160 people meeting set criteria were included in the study. The questionnaire consisted of two parts. The first part was composed of questions on characteristics of participants and the second part of questions derived from the Champion's Health Belief Model Scale. Only 15.0% of participants (n=24) had undergone a fecal occult blood test (FOBT), 11.3% (n=18) had had colonoscopy and 4.4% (n=7) had had sigmoidoscopy. Some 90.6% of the participants had low levels of risk awareness about the colorectal cancer. It was found that the average point of severity subscale of participants over 65 is higher than that of participants under 65 (p<0.05). In conclusion, because of the many barriers and health beliefs for the colorectal cancer screening program, the rate of participation in screening programs is not sufficient. Healthcare providers have important responsibilities for increasing rate of attendance in colorectal cancer screening programs.

  • Although several methods have been used to assess the pain levels, few practical methods for classifying presence or absence of the pain using pattern classifiers have been suggested. The aim of this study is to design an pattern classifier that classifies the presence or absence of the pain using electrocardiogram (ECG). We measured the ECG signal from 10 subjects with the painless state and the pain state(Induced by mechanical stimulation). The 10 features of heart rate variability (HRV) were extracted from ECG - MeanRRI, SDNN, rMSSD, NN50, pNN50 in the time domain; VLF, LF, HF, Total Power, LF/HF in the frequency domain; and we used the features as input vector of the pattern classifier's artificial neural network (ANN) / support vector machine (SVM) for classifying the presence or absence of the pain. The study results showed that the classifiers using ANN / SVM could classify the presence or absence of the pain with accuracies of 81.58% / 81.84%. The proposed classifiers can be applied to the objective assessment of pain level.

  • Recently, following the commercialization and market entry of smart clothes with diverse functions, smart clothes have been changing from technology-centered products to user-centered products. However, the analysis of consumer demand centered on actual commercialized products is lacking. Therefore, this study classified commercialized smart clothes by function and analyzed the demand and requirements of smart clothes according to sports/outdoor clothes consumption behaviors. As a result, consumers were classified according to their sports/outdoor clothes consumption behaviors into an outdoor leading group with high consumption propensity, an outdoor pursuit group with medium consumption propensity, and an outdoor following group with low consumption propensity. Among the commercialized smart clothes, those with a heartbeat measuring function, those with a heating function, and those with a light-emitting function were presented and demand analysis was conducted. According to the results, the outdoor leading group and the outdoor pursuit group had higher levels of awareness, preference, and purchase intentions than the outdoor following group. In addition, the outdoor leading group showed the highest level of purchase price acceptance while the outdoor following group showed the lowest level of purchase price acceptance. However, this study has a limitation that the acceptance for smart clothes were analyzed with consumers who had experience in sports outdoor clothes consumption. Therefore, in future, studies will be conducted with a wide range of consumers.

  • This study researches functional arrangements for colors of work clothes - concentrating on the arrangements of lightness - for safety protection of workers at the job sites in the mechanical industry. To conduct such study, blue color (5PB) is selected for the CAD simulations on six arrangements of brightness based on two colors. The brightness ranges are of 5PB color (between 3~7.5) which are measurable by Munsell Conversion, and arrangements on lightness consisting of one arrangement of high lightness-gap, two of medium lightness-gap, and three of low lightness-gap. To analyze the data of color values after applying arrangements of lightness and to evaluate the levels of awareness regarding arrangements, the NCS colorimetric is being applied. Color palettes are based on the NCS notations, and then marked with color triangles. After evaluation, the visibility proves to be high when the arrangements contain high lightness at the top and bottom, and the arrangements with higher lightness-gap show higher effects in safety. Since this study tends to check factors of lightness, the other color factors were limited. Therefore, in order to apply these results at the job sites, integrated applications of such results will be very useful for developing safe working clothes in the future.

  • The objective of this study is to stress the importance of sexuality education at school, to define its goals and to discuss ways on how to reinvigorate sexuality education. The negative conditions for adolescent sexual issues are now being expanded into all areas of Korean society. In particular, they should be regarded as one of serious social issues because of their adverse influences on adolescent groups. Various reports on juvenile sexual delinquencies have expressed serious concern over reckless and impulsive juvenile sexual deviations because they are closely related to the confusion of the youth in their sexual values and their common sexual deviations. Thus, for the youth who have attracted serious public concern, it is most important to have sound sexual awareness and attitude for the development of their healthy personality. In general, sexuality education should be conducted under individual responsibility of various levels of schools, families and communities. However, the role of schools where sexuality education should be conducted with concrete goals, that is, to interpret physical and psychological developments of youth in terms of education and teach them on the systematic goals of sexuality education, this role of schools is the most important than anything else in conducting sexuality education for youth.

  • Climate negotiations have been going on for the last two decades and the awareness for impacts of climate change has improved substantially. However, the trends of global $CO_2$ emissions did not reveal any encouraging signs, with developing countries emitting even more $CO_2$ and industrialized nations showing no signs of reducing emissions to below their 1990 levels. In order to meet the ambitious targets set by the Stern report for the next two decades, it is important to find new and path-breaking approaches to climate change. This paper attempts to analyze the use of carbon/development space historically, at present and in the future with a focus on equity. Trends analysis focuses on the last two decades (Post Rio) and the carbon budget based analysis considers a period of 1850-2050. Industrialized countries are found to have significantly overshot their budgeted allocation for the last 160 years. Both the developing and industrialized countries are overshooting the present budget estimates based on world per capita budget for the next forty years and proportional to the population of each country. It is important for the industrialized countries to bring down their emissions to meet their carbon budgets while the developing countries use their development space as a guideline for their development path. Furthermore, this paper presents aggressive and regressive scenarios for the industrialized countries to compensate for the climate debt they have created.
