  • Environmental conditions are important in increasing the fruit sugar content and productivity of the new cultivar Autumn Sense of Actinidia arguta. We analyzed various soil properties at experimental sites in South Korea. A Pearson's correlation analysis was performed between the soil properties and sugar content or productivity of Autumn Sense. Further, a decision tree was used to determine the optimal soil conditions. The difference in the fruit size, sugar content, and productivity of Autumn Sense across sites was significant, confirming the effects of soil properties. The decision tree analysis showed that a soil C/N ratio of over 11.49 predicted a sugar content of more than 7°Bx at harvest time, and soil electrical capacity below 131.83 µS/cm predicted productivity more than 50 kg/vine at harvest time. Our results present the soil conditions required to increase the sugar content or productivity of Autumn Sense, a new A. arguta cultivar in South Korea.

  • In this study, we studied the changes in antioxidant activity of Actinidia arguta fruit of Autumn Sense cultivar during fruit ripening. The aim of this investigation was to find the knowledge of the changes of physiochemicals associated with fruit quality, antioxidant properties (free-radical scavenging activity and reducing power), total phenolics and vitamin C during fruit ripening. The highest free-radical scavenging activity (at $100{\mu}g/ml$) and reducing power (at $100{\mu}g/ml$) in A. arguta fruit were 78.57% and 0.22, respectively. Total phenolic content and vitamin C content in fruit of 10 days after fruit set were $639.48{\mu}g/g$ and $1052.2{\mu}g/g$, respectively. In general, the antioxidant activity and the related parameters, including total phenolic content and vitamin C content decreased during fruit ripening. These results improve knowledge of the effect of ripening on the antioxidant activity and related compounds contents that could help to establish the optimum A. arguta fruit harvest data for various usages.

  • "Purpose of this study was to investigate influence on preference of cohousing (eg. intention to spread and intention to move in cohousing) according to sense of community by married people residing in Seoul and its outskirts. Research method used for this study was a social survey. Respondents were 214 people by accidential sampling. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program using frequency, mean, average, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range test and Multiple Regression. Findings of this study were as follows. 1) Though respondents took part in interaction meetings rarely, they took part more often in meetings for health issue, leisure and hobby. Members of meetings were mostly job colleagues. 2) The respondents were interested in meetings for exchange of used stuffs, and children and the youth program most. It was revealed that the group taking part in meetings more often have higher sense of community than others. 3) Respondents who were older, who have been living longer in the same town had higher sense of community as well as closer interaction with neighbors than others. 4) As respondents showed positive response about preference of cohousing, there was a difference between intention to spread and intention to move in cohousing. While women, more educated, less income, and higher sense of community groups showed higher intention to spread cohousing, home owner and higher sense of community groups showed higher intention to move in cohousing.

  • The purpose of this study suggests the emotion of residents as indexes in Korean housing environment for providing a fundamental guideline for precise dwelling social science and indicating the view for understanding of residents in korean housing culture in korea. So this paper explores the role of residents emotion indexes in housing environment and community. For this study, survey and depth-interview methods were used for data collection. The subjects were 514 housewives living in apartments. The statistical methods for data analysis were frequency, mean, multiple linear regression and logistic regression analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program The major findings are as follows: 1)Pride of neighborhood, pride of apartment complex and sense of superiority were important factors for residental satisfaction. 2)Conspicuous image of neighbors and active contact with neighbors were import factors for their neighborship in the apartment complex. The results develop the housing environment evaluation indexes in community through the contextual understanding of space emotion society.

  • This study explores the patterns of housing-related attitudes and the kind of needs for shared community spaces among small-sized apartment housing dwellers. The major findings are as follows. The majority of the dwellers are in strong need of common spaces, especially for children's activities, Social gathering and physical exercises. Housing-related attitudes are found and grouped into 4categories the propensity to making up common society, the propensity to pursuing the quality of neighborhood, the propensity to orienting natural environment, and the propensity to participating in community. The intensity of the needs depends on family lifecycle, employment status of housewives, and the size of floor space. The propensity to making up common society and pursing the quality of neighborhood have stronger impact on needs of shared community space. This study reveals that the sense of community orientation is the most powerful predictor variable for shared community space needs .

  • As people are aging, there are changes about biological psychological sociological. For these reasons, it will arise that changing body size, decreasing power of body, shrinking of living, becoming dull the senses, and feeling alienation loneliness sense of distance about society. Many studies have been done to give residential space supporting older adults' living. Recently many ubiquitous technologies are being development and applied to residential space. The purpose of this study was to classified ubiquitous services by housing supporting concept and older people's physical, psychological and social characteristics and to identify needs for ubiquitous services by older adults. The researches developed a survey instrument and collected the data from 260 people in July to August, 2008 who were more than 40 years old. • Now days, as the consideration of sound environment is getting important, method of physical measurement such as reverberation time and sound pressure level becomes common. However, such method cant include subjective sensation such as personal emotion and feeling, evaluation. So there is a limitation to make the most optimized sound environment. Therefore, in the present experiment, I improve big indoor gymnasium that has sound defect because of too long reverberation time. After that, I conduct the auditory sense evaluation of human psychological response. From the experiment, I will make research into sound satisfaction rate about the subject space and response of each item. As well as, I will present the result as basic database of sound environment improvement experiment of indoor gymnasium.

  • The present article has the purpose of evaluating subjective response of Won Buddhism sanctums by psychoacoustics experiment. Furthermore, basing on this experiment, the present article makes a suggestion of a physical sound-evaluating index. To achieve the purpose, I conducted an psychoacoustics experiment at 6 sanctuaries out of the representing 40 sanctuaries of Won Buddhism sanctums, which size is bigger than 1,000 m$^3$. I made a reanalysis with 3 Buddhist sanctums out of the subjects of psychoacoustics experiment which are generally rated superior. From the result, I can make each evaluation type into two types, sound clarity and space sense of sound. Also, I make various suggestions of physical parameter, with which I can evaluate the proper sound condition for Won Buddhism sanctums.
