모의 측면 충돌 시험 기법 개발 및 응용 (A Study of Development and Application for Side Impact Sled Test)

  • Occupant protection in the side impact of a vehicle becomes one of the most important issues today. So, to reduce development time and cost, it needs test equipment which conducts an accurate simulation of the side impact crash. This paper describes a new test method for side impact, which utilizes a standard 12inch-HYGE-type sled facility. If a side impact sled test can simulate vehicle intrusion very well, it will contribute to develop full-scale side impact crash performance. The newly developed sled test method enables simulation for dummy motion, injury, door velocity, trim crack, and vehicle structure to be accurate. Ant also this sled test method can be applied to the development of side air-bag.

  • The purpose of this study is to produce a side impact beam with high tensile steel using a roll forming process. The door side impact beam plays an important roll in a car because it protects passengers from external crash. The roll forming process is a continuous bending process wherein a long metal sheet is bended as it continuously passes several rolls. The characteristic of this study is that an impact beam is produced by a continuous process using a ultra high strength steel without a hardening heat treatment. A model was determined by analysing plasticity of a cross section shape considering high strength. Design parameters of the impact beam was determined by crash-analysing the model. Workpiece products were manufactured by designing dies for roll forming and setting them up in a following process line. Results of a bending test and a FEM analysis was considered and reviewed.

전산해석에 의한 자동차용 HVAC 시스템의 성능 연구 (A Numerical Study for Performance of Automotive HVAC System)

  • In automotive air handling system, mixing of air streams by the cooler and the heater affects the comfort of cabin room. In the present study, computer-aided analysis is done to improve the thermal comfort and for the optimal design of automotive HVAC system. The simulation software used was FLUENT, and complicate geometries were created by three dimensional CAD. Air flow volume, fir distribution rate and temperature controllability and temperature differences between upper and lower discharge air are analyzed through numerical simulation at vent, floor and defrost mode. Also, velocity vector of sirocco fan is investigated through the scroll housing. The velocity vector magnitude is larger at lower region of fan than that at any other regions. Recirculation and disturbance of air is relatively high near the cut-off edge in the scroll housing. By using the results of this study, the time for prototype production can be reduced and timely decisions can be made to determine initial design directions.

도어의 회전력을 이용한 에너지 획득 시스템 개발 (Development of the Energy Harvesting System Using Door Torque)

  • 본 논문에서는 도어의 회전운동에 의해서 발생하는 기계에너지를 전기에너지로 변환시켜 에너지를 획득하는 시스템을 제안한다. 에너지를 획득하는 방법으로 2종류의 에너지 하베스터을 논의한다. 첫 번째, 도어의 회전축과 발전장치의 축을 기어장치로 직접 연결하여 발전하는 기어 축결합 에너지 하베스터, 두 번째로는 도어 선단을 발전장치의 스트링으로 연결하여 발전하는 스파이럴스프링 에너지 하베스터이다. 이 2종류의 하베스터를 제작하여 실험을 수행하며, 이 결과를 통해서 제안한 에너지 하베스터의 유효성을 나타낸다.

  • Currently, automotive industries improve the vehicle performance and reduce the development period of vehicle using each module part for the high quality and performance of vehicles. However each component part doesn't generate the noise and vibration problems, sometime these problems are generated on the assembly status between vehicle chassis frame and each module part. On this study, in order to analysis the dynamic characteristics of a shield door module that is a typical module part of vehicles, the acquisition and evaluation process about the vibration and noise of shield door module is developed. Also the possibility to apply to shield door module of the developed process is verified by the comparison with the dynamic characteristics between plastic and steel module plate.

  • 경첩은 문을 구성하는 아주 중요한 부품이다. 오늘날 현재 그 기능과 형태, 재료 등의 범주에서 경첩은 더욱 세분화되고 있으며, 또한 그 쓰임새를 확대하고 있다. 이에 따라 보다 진보된 생산기술을 필요로 하게 되고, 더 전문화된 설계를 개발해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 문에 장착된 경첩 모델들에 대하여 구조 해석을 수행하여 문에 일정 힘이 가해질 때 그 변형과 응력분포, 피로수명들을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 각 형상에 따른 경첩 모델들의 내구성들을 예상할 수 있었으며, 연구 결과를 바탕으로 하여 보다 진보되고, 내구성이 있는 경첩 모델의 설계 및 개발에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 또한, 디자인 면에서 융합 기술로의 접목도 가능하여 미적인 감각을 나타낼 수 있다.

  • Weight reduction for an automobile body is being sought for the fuel efficiency and the energy conservation. One way of the efforts is adopting Ultra Light Steel Auto Body (ULSAB) concept. The ULSAB concept can be used for the light weight of an automobile door with the tailor welded blank (TWB). A design process is defined for the TWB. The inner panel of door is designed by the TWB and optimization. The design starts from an existing component. At first, the hinge and inner reinforcements are removed. In the conceptual design stage, topology optimization is conducted to find the distribution of variable thicknesses. The number of parts and the welding lines are determined from the topology design. In the detailed design process, size optimization is carried out to find thickness while stiffness constraints are satisfied. The final parting lines are determined by shape optimization.

다구찌 기법을 이용한 3 문형 냉장고 서랍용 롤러 레일의 설계 (Design of a Roller Rail for the Drawer of Three-Door Refrigerators Using Taguchi Method)

  • Optimal design of a roller rail which replaces the ball rail for three-door refrigerators is presented using the finite element analysis and the Taguchi method. Stress and deformation of the roller rail for an initial design are analyzed and evaluated. Optimal design parameters are determined using the Taguchi method. The maximum stress of the optimal design is favorably reduced comparing to the initial design. It is verified through an additional analysis that the drawer on the roller rail will not be derailed even if one opens the drawer with a transverse force.

  • Tailored Blanks are defined as two or more separate pieces of sheet material having the same or dissimilar thickness and/or physical properties, joined together before forming. Its application is being increased especially in the automotive industrial area for the cost reduction, weight saving, and improvement of strength. In this paper, the deforming behaviour of the laser welded blanks with regard to different thicknesses and combinations are described through some experimental investigations on the formability of a door inner. To investigate how the combination of thickness and material property influences the movement of welding line, a series of laser welded T/B blanks are tested.
